(THREAD) Russian RIA propaganda agency posts today a huge article about "new tectonic changes" in the world politics and celebrates "Forward, to the USSR!" idea. This is a pure repetition of "Russian National Socialism" ideas by a neonazi guru Maxim Kalashnikov. Let me explain.

I mentioned Kalashnikov once in my text for @cepa shortly, pointing out his role in creation of the current Russian elites' way of thinking. Still, it is worth to elaborate a bit on him and his ideas: extreme aggressive anti-westernism, racism, militarism cepa.org/we-are-russian…

Kalashnikov (a nickname after a Soviet assault gun, his real name is Kucherenko, ironically pretty Ukrainian) was a very popular author of junk pamphlet books with racist content in early 2000s. He wrote about glorious Soviet empire of superweapons, destroyed by Jewish conspiracy

The content of his books is more or less the same: the USSR was a country of "noble warriors", developing wonder weapons, beating US and Israel (Kalashnikov glorified Soviet proxy wars on Israel) and has fallen because of a betrayal (Dolchstoß) by corrupt elites with Jewish roots

Well, nothing new for those who learned a bit of German Nazi propaganda. In his later books, Kalashnikov developed his dream of "USSR 2.0" - an extremely aggressive, racist country which understands the "weaknesses" of the West: love for peace, slow democratic processes etc.

He urged Russians to use these "weaknesses" and attack the West with all means: hacker attack on economy, money for separatist and radical (left+right) movements, attacks on the edge of plausible denial etc. Actually, he has developed the hybrid war concept.

Interesting is his wording. He says repeatedly about "Russian National Socialism" urging re-creation of Hitler's NS "without Hitler's mistakes" (which according to him was a denial of Russian genius). He urges for re-capturing of Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan as resource base.

For a certain time, Kalashnikov was seen as a freak with zero influence. Well, he was not. He was a speaker at Putin-Youth camps at the Lake Seliger. Than-president Medvedev has praised his "interesting ideas". In 2020, he was editor-in-chief of MoD-connected 'Kuryer VPK' media.

Indeed: he has not done a stellar career (maybe because he was too harsh in his blaming elites for being too lazy and peaceful), but the fact that Kalashnikov's ideas and wording are currently used by Russia's leading propaganda outlet is clearly visible.

"A Russian National-Socialist" Kalashnikov was most probably the most influential thinker in modern Russia, having formed the way of thinking for Russian elites: be aggressive, take bold moves, push the West, don't be afraid of violence, break all laws, the Victory will be yours.

Kalashnikov has painted a dream, a real vision for Putin: the only military superpower Russia, bond by nothing, dominating over the world, enjoying unlimited power and brutally destroying any opponent thank to technological solutions and absence of any moral or legal limitations.

What we witness now, is just the process of bringing his books to the real world (without the promised super weapons though). That is why it makes no sense to hope for "diplomacy", "negotiations" or "compromise". You cannot negotiate with guys who dream of your extermination. END
