Design of the sust. system: w/o absentee shareholders and speculation. Uses the 15yrs for debate & implementation.

G-North has to rapidly get down to 1/4 of today's level so G-South can build some more infrastructure to fight poverty & slow climate flight. 👉 market dynamics can't decide which product shd be made

@aaronharris @misskatiecharm @RioSlade While I agree that people care more for the stakes when they're not "absentee capitalist owners", the limits to ecocide the biosphere can stand are so tiny that basic needs for all can only just be met when resources go into them instead of being squandered on superfluous toys.

@aaronharris @misskatiecharm @RioSlade I've seen automotive sustainability papers which claim it were enough if a product was made observing sust. guidelines and no decision shd be made on whether the raw material is needed elsewhere or if later product use is sustainable.
But sustainability requires the opposite👇

@aaronharris @misskatiecharm @RioSlade The automotive sustainability authors are still active today and will be for 25 more yrs. W/o science-informed command economy, they'd drive us over the cliff. This shows how big the required culture change is. Maybe, market dynamics can be sust. later but not for 1 generation.

@aaronharris @misskatiecharm @RioSlade Oh, and "it’ll take tax incentives gives" – this is too incremental, ie., too slow. It's the neoliberal modus of doing things: monetize everything, nudge a little here & there and bet on hope & prayers that greed or common sense might work on time. We're long past hope & prayers.

It needs a revolution-type of change. And immediate wartime economy "You produce this, you do that and your company closes for now." Plus rations for everyone and everything. These rations lower CO2 emissions by 35-45% in one go. That's the speed we need.

@aaronharris @misskatiecharm @RioSlade Market dynamics can't ever be sustainable anymore. It's a plain stupid system and it became so complex that not even well-meaning law makers dare to end it lest all hell breaks loose. Experts must provide the project plan for rapid decommissioning to be accomplished in 15yrs tops
