A civil activist, #ZHOLDASBAY Zhanbolat, born in 1975, went on a peaceful rally in Aktobe to support the Zhanaozen citizens and was shot in the right shoulder on 7 January 2022.
2/6 When he fell to the ground, riot policemen twisted his arms and handcuffed him. Then they took him to the police department and beat him up, after that they took him by ambulance to the emergency department.
3/6 After having had an operation three days ago and even without an official discharge note from the doctors, he was taken to the [police] department and an administrative case for going on a peaceful rally was initiated against him.
4/6 Zhanbolat was illegally charged with 10 days of administrative arrest. He received no medical assistance in the temporary detention facility and his wound has not healed yet. Zhanbolat is now being treated at home, he has not worked for 2 months due to health reasons,⤵️
5/6 and his medical insurance has been cancelled.
According to Zhanbolat, when the people were standing in front of the Akimat (local executive body) of #Aktobe, two APC military vehicles arrived across Abai Avenue and without warning started firing from both sides.
In the hospital, Zhanbolat was not shown the bullet that was removed from his shoulder. The police officers not only beat him, but also robbed him and took all the cash that Zhanbolat carried in his purse.
2/7 Saule IMANGOZHINA couldn’t find her son for a long time. Nobody could tell her his location. Wherever she went, she heard about operation “Seizure”. She was not allowed in, pushed back with a gun.
2/6 who was beaten and tortured with an iron, suffered "minor injuries" despite the fact that doctors had previously diagnosed him with a concussion and extensive burns.
3/6 On 16 March 2022, TOKAYEV stated that the authorities had admitted the facts of torture in Kazakhstan following the January protests, and that a thorough investigation had been ordered and torture must be eradicated. It appears that there is no transparent investigation,⤵️
Civil activist #ZHUMABAYEV Serik is being persecuted by the Kazakhstani authorities for his participation in the January protests, namely Serik went on a rally in the city of #Aktobe on 7 January 2022.
2/8 He was arbitrarily detained in front of the Akimat (local executive body), using brute force and was even handcuffed. He was then brutally beaten in the Ile assembly hall with batons.This beating went on for a long time, he was beaten on the head and tortured with a stun gun.
3/8 Next, Serik lost consciousness.
When he regained consciousness, he asked for water, but instead of water the police officers beat him a couple more times.
A civil activist, #ZHUMABEKULY Tokhtar, born in 1993, is illegally prosecuted on political grounds for the second time under Article 78 Part 2 for participation in the protests in January 2022 in Aktobe.
3/4 Tokhtar is the only breadwinner for his parents and he is seeking help from international organisations to protect his rights and to prevent the Kazakhstani authorities from ruining his life, as they did for many victims of the January events.

Civil activist #KARAKULOV Alibek is prosecuted for January events, for going on protests from 4-6 January 2022.
On 12 January 2022, he was arbitrarily detained in the street by #IZBASAROV Medet and #KANDIYEV Andrey in #Kobda village.
2/5 They took him to the gym on Zavodskaya street in #Aktobe town and locked him up for 12 days. On 19 January he was released early.
According to Alibek, the authorities sent 30 provocateurs to the city of Aktobe to discredit the peaceful rally.
3/5 They were the ones who went into the Akimat (local executive body) of Aktobe and destroyed everything there. And the people just stood in front of the Akimat demanding that the Akims (heads of local government) or deputies come out to them.
