2/6 and tortured for filming how law enforcement officers were firing shots and flash-bang grenades at protesters on 5 January 2022, and how protesters were being detained on 6 January 2022.
3/6 Zhiger was detained on 6 January 2022 and accused of "participation in mass disorders" under Article 272 Part 2. He has been held in a pre-trial detention facility since 10 January 2022. Zhiger was subjected to torture and beatings from the moment of his detention.
4/6 The police officers forced him to sign some document, where he confirmed that he allegedly threw stones during the protests, under torture. Below is the testimony of Zhiger's father:⤵️
1/4 16 February 2022 #Aktobe #YESHIMBETOV Zhumabike Ivanovich from Aktobe told about his participation in peaceful protests from 5 to 7 January in 2022.
2/4 In the afternoon of 10 January 2022 two police officers came to Zhumabike's house and took him to the Police Department. There, he was forced to write an explanatory note.
Then, he was taken to the Zavodskoy Police Department where he was held for 24 hours.
3/4 He was tried on 11 January 2022. The judge sentenced him to 15 days of administrative arrest. According to YESHIMBETOV Zhumabike, the protesters were tried one after another within 3 minutes allocated per each. There were no lawyers with them.
2/6 He moved from China in August 2021 and only recently received Kazakhstani citizenship. He wanted to make Kazakhstan famous for his sporting achievements.
The exact date, where, how and under what circumstances he was injured is unknown.
3/6 Relatives managed to find his body in the morgue only on 11 January 2022, and fear he could be labelled a "terrorist. The authorities have not yet published a list of those killed in the days of the January protests and afterwards.
#SHAKHKUZOV Nuraly Ykylasovich, from Aktobe, is the only breadwinner in his family. He is a father of 7 minor children and takes care of his disabled mother who has been diagnosed with stage-three cancer.
2/6 He is being prosecuted by the Kazakhstani authorities for joining peaceful protests in January 2022. He went on those protests to support protesters in Zhanaozen, exercising his constitutional right.
3/6 On 6 January 2022 at about 10:00 am he was detained and taken away by 6 unidentified people. His case is under investigation now. He is being prosecuted under Article 269 Part 2 of the Criminal Code of RK.
2/7 Saule IMANGOZHINA couldn’t find her son for a long time. Nobody could tell her his location. Wherever she went, she heard about operation “Seizure”. She was not allowed in, pushed back with a gun.
2/6 who was beaten and tortured with an iron, suffered "minor injuries" despite the fact that doctors had previously diagnosed him with a concussion and extensive burns.
3/6 On 16 March 2022, TOKAYEV stated that the authorities had admitted the facts of torture in Kazakhstan following the January protests, and that a thorough investigation had been ordered and torture must be eradicated. It appears that there is no transparent investigation,⤵️
Civil activist #ZHUMABAYEV Serik is being persecuted by the Kazakhstani authorities for his participation in the January protests, namely Serik went on a rally in the city of #Aktobe on 7 January 2022.
2/8 He was arbitrarily detained in front of the Akimat (local executive body), using brute force and was even handcuffed. He was then brutally beaten in the Ile assembly hall with batons.This beating went on for a long time, he was beaten on the head and tortured with a stun gun.
3/8 Next, Serik lost consciousness.
When he regained consciousness, he asked for water, but instead of water the police officers beat him a couple more times.
