Judge is going to try and get another courtroom so that the sentencing can move forward on April 4. Defense counsel is too busy to have the hearing later this week. He wants the hearing pushed to April 4. Judge seems to agree. Prosecutors want the hearing on Friday.

Judge suggests hearing the motion for judgment acquittal in-person next Mon. Apr. 4 and to do the sentencing on Apr. 11...
Apr. 11 isn't a good day for the court. Apr. 13 and 14 are looking like a better day for the sentencing. Defense counsel likes Apr. 14...judge says April 14 at 10:30a is the new date for sentencing. Prosecutors asked for an overflow courtroom for observers.
Ed Buck is complaining he doesn't have his second hearing aide and can't hear anything. Defense is asking the court to compel the jail to get Ed Buck new hearing aides. Judge is ordering he have workable hearing aides next Monday. Judge also wants the camera working at the jail.

Recap. #EdBuck's hearing to toss the jury's verdict did not happen because the video camera at the jail wasn't working and his attorney Mark Werksman wouldn't proceed without his client being able to see everything.
I am disappointed we were unable to move forward with #EdBuck's hearing today. We're so close to the finish line. A lot of his surviving victims including the families of Gemmel Moore and Timothy Dean need and want closure. This is just prolonging that.
So now the hearing is next Monday, April 4--the day he was supposed to be sentenced. Sentencing has been pushed to April 14.
