The first Black woman vice president, ⁦@VP⁩ ⁦@KamalaHarris⁩ presides over the vote confirming Judge #KetanjiBrownJackson to the Supreme Court. What a moment in Black history and American history! 🙅🏿‍♀️🎉
Every no vote will be remembered. Trust. And the Republican Party will pay for it for a generation.
Watching all the bitter old white guys on the Republican side as #KBJ makes history is making me strangely giddy, honestly. May their Dixiecrat anger burn deep and long. History has defied their precious founders, who never, ever intended this day to be. We will revel in our joy!

President @JoeBiden today called what #KetanjiBrownJacksonHearing endured at the hands of 11 snarling, sneering, dishonest Republicans during her #SCOTUS confirmation hearings: “verbal abuse.” Accurate, Mr President. Image
Biden also praised the three Republicans who defied rank partisanship and voted to confirm Judge Jackson: @SenatorCollins @lisamurkowski who is up for re-election, so took a genuine risk, and especially @MittRomney, whose father, as Biden pointed out, was a civil rights stalwart.
I’m with Biden on that. All politics aside, these three earned that praise. Particularly Murkowski and Romney, who indeed honored his father with his vote and by standing alone on the Republican side to applaud the vote, while his fellow Republicans stormed out like trolls.

Delano do YOU believe women have inherent value or are we just broodmares for men to do with as they please (rape included) and for the state to force into the breeding kennels? And given the number of Black women who will die from backalley abortions this IS a civilrights issue.
Have whatever religious beliefs you like but please don’t hide behind Black women to pursue the agenda white Christian* nationalists have laid out for you. Especially if you have said nothing about our disproportionate maternal death & child poverty. prb.org/resources/blac…

The greatest, and sickest irony of the @GOP's new political strategy is that they are appealing to the most prurient fears of white Christian parents, while passing bills and maintaining alliances that normalize child brides and rape as a legitimate means of procreation.
If Democrats were anything like Republicans, they'd long ago have begun calling them the pro-rape, pro child marriage party and accusing them of forcing women to be child-birthing slaves of the state, while banning the teaching of what slavery is to keep the chattel docile.
I genuinely fear that before long, America will look a lot more like Russia or Hungary or even Afghanistan than any one of y'all can imagine. Because Republicans are aggressive in their pursuit of social and political control, while just about everyone else is pretty disengaged.

We discussed this on Friday on @thereidout. Not only did @HawleyMO praise a light sentence (probation) for a cop who strangled his girlfriend with a shirt and orally raped her, he also formed a sex trafficking task force that members called just for show.
And it should be mentioned that @HawleyMO’s “soft on sex crime” record came when he was the top law enforcement official in Missouri as that state’s attorney general, and an apparent publicity hound.

Beyond that, Hawley has repeatedly voted to confirm white male nominees to the federal bench who had sentencing records in similar cases that were identical to #KetanjiBrownJackson’s record. The only other difference? Trump nominated them. washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/…

Clearly the answer to the right wing question #WhatIsAWoman is: a person you collect a bounty on if she tries to get an abortion and who you shrug at and say "have the baby or we'll sue you" if she gets raped. Also: someone whose job is to have big boobs and get men a sandwich.
Also #WhatIsAWoman -- a person you pay 80 percent of what you pay a man to do the same job; or 60-67 percent if she's Black, Hispanic, AAPI or indigenous. americanprogress.org/article/women-…

.@LindseyGrahamSC is an embarrassment to the United States Senate. His performative vitriol and hostility to Judge Jackson whom he has repeatedly voted to elevate to the federal bench; and who he's now treating like a Black shopper he's following around the store, is repugnant.
Lindsey thinks the purpose of this hearing is to personally get revenge for Amy Barrett and accused teen rapist Brett Kavanaugh-and to vent his spleen about his SC candidate not being the nominee. Well @LindseyGrahamSC we already knew who you were. Thanks for confirming our view.
Lindsey and the other Confederates @SenTomCotton & @HawleyMO are trying to put a stain on #KetanjiBrownJackson that matches the stain on Clarence (who was accused of pushing porn on unwilling women) & Kavanaugh, who was accused of sexually violating high school and college women.
