Dogs are adorable -that is a fact.
Let’s get real though before you get a dog.
Here are 11 things you MUST be aware of before you get a dog.
🧵
1. Time
Dogs require an enormous amount of time to properly train and socialize. Bad habits in a puppy/dog can make a dangerous or annoying dog.
You must have HOURS set aside each day to have a puppy/dog.
Time is critical.
2. Money.
A healthy dog requires little besides food and love. (We will get to that later.)
An injured or sick dog can easily cost you thousands in one vet visit alone.
Can you afford this? Can you afford insurance?
All dogs will get hurt and sick in their life, be prepared.
So you want to welcome a Bernese Mountain Dog into your life?
Here is a thread of very important things you need to know.
🧵
Bernese Mountain Dogs start as bear cubs that will melt your brain with cuteness.
People will RUN through traffic to see your puppy. They grow into BIG dogs.
Not as big as St. Bernards or Newfies, but big. Be prepared for a BIG puppy and then a BIG dog.
Bernese Mountain Dogs are wonderful family dogs. They adore their family and usually pick one person who is THEIR PERSON. They are affectionate and love their family.
It’s time for the PAWSCARS!
We will start, but we would to see your own nominees in this thread!
🧵 #Oscars#Pets#Pawscars
For Best Supporting Actress in the film “BEAKERING III: A GOOD DAY TO BEAK HARD”
Beaker is nominated for really selling the role and driving home her tenacious spirit.
For Best Actor in the drama: “To Find a Mooseleg” Bunsen is nominated for his gripping performance of not wanting to give up and being undeterred in his role.
Going to welcome a Golden Retriever into your life?
Here is a thread about 10 things to watch out for.
🧵
1. Goldens have a “soft mouth” which means when they retrieve things they generally don’t destroy it. HOWEVER as puppies they will CHEW everything.
2. Goldens have a ton of energy and are up for adventures multiple times a day. They LOVE runs, walks, and hikes.
That energy means they have constant BEAKERING until they turn three or four. (And maybe later!)
