CoVid Medical Conference Rater. I am giving the Nashville #shmconverge22 Hospitalist Convention of April 7-10, 2022, a rating of 2/10.

Bob Wachter was the plenary speaker.

Only the cardiologists were as bad.

Why do I do this? Because I view them as engaging in medical misinformation.

They are supposed to be good examples.

They are not.
And hospitalists are the ONE group that should get how important it is to not catch CoVid.

If the one group that has suffered more PTSD than any other group, won't protect themselves?

I am not trying to shame here, but to show you...we need mask mandates.
Even for leaders in the medical community, because they will not protect themselves.
I didn't even have to try hard to find these.

The study shows that the Secondary Attack Rate was SIGNIFICANTLY reduced with the implementation of UV-C germicidal lights.

How can that be, except if #CoVidIsAirborne?

✅ Nosocomial superspreading event-12 patients, 9 HCWs.
✅ 6/9 air exhaust grilles (out of reach) contaminated (more than fomites).

Solution to this outbreak?

"Portable high-efficiency particulate filters were installed in each cubicle to improve ventilation before resumption of clinical service."

They also added goggles for the staff to go with their ASTM1 surgical masks (same mask worn by patients, too).

N100 elastomeric respirators are available and are better than N95s.

(There are better still, but will let that other RPE go.)

Mixed messaging for a nation.

What is not mixed? The CDC messaging in Community Levels.

First, DC rates are:

142 cases per 100K
2 admits per 100K
1.6% is the Inpatient %.

Look at the metrics 👇. No matter how high the CASES go?

It always stays at Medium level, as long as admits or inpatient % stats low..

And, it take about 2 weeks to end up in the hospital. ImageImage
If we had a very transmissible variant, it could rip through the population...and all of a sudden, huge numbers will need the hospital at once.

But let's say this is the first two weeks,with 10,000 cases per, and it's medium.

What are the things we can do, per the CDC?
