On 5 January 2022, a 22-year-old man named Ansar #ISLAM drove with his brother to change oil in his car. He noticed another car parked 30 metres away from his car and a wounded man laying on the ground.
2/5 Ansar ran to help the wounded man. Along with another man, he put the wounded man in the car, but at that very moment he himself received two gunshot wounds (in the neck and pelvis), as a result of which he died.
3/4 On 7 Apr. the police exhumed the body three months after the funeral, despite the family's attempts to challenge the decision in court. The authorities have opened a criminal case against Ansar for alleged "mass riots"- killed him and now want to make him look like a looter.

2/6 On 5 January 2022 Marat went on a peaceful protest where he was a gunshot and taken by unidentified people to the city hospital #7.Doctors diagnosed Marat with an“open multi-comminuted fracture of the lower third of the two bones of the right tibia caused by a gunshot”.
3/6 On 8 January an armed special rapid response unit (SOBR) burst into the hospital, took the half-naked wounded patients, including Marat, outside by beating them and shoved them into a prisoner transportation vehicle.

2/4 Bakyt took part in the peaceful protest to support peaceful protesters from Aktau and Zhanaozen, to express his position on rising prices and corruption. During the peaceful protest, he was shot in the leg. Other protesters took him to an ER, where he underwent surgery.
3/4 However, as early as 9 Jan., an armed SOBR (Rapid Response Unit) officers burst into the hospital and beat the half-naked, wounded people, forced them into a van and took them to the pre-trial detention facility SI-18,where the wounded were subjected to beatings and torture.
