A thread on how to DYOR and Find or know Solid projects in the #NFT space.

I would be breaking it down from the perspective of how I personally Do my own research.

There are a lot of ways I do my research

1️⃣PLATFORMS

There are basically 4 major platforms to do research on #NFT projects:

•Twitter
•Discord
•Groups/communities
•Website/whitepaper

Let’s break them down one by one

•Twitter

•Surround yourself with quality real time Information. Fuck a following/Follower ratio. Follow all the projects on your watchlists and Key/quality personalities In your ecosystem.

Turn on notifications for all. These are some quality personalities of diff ecosystems

There are a lot more I can’t tag cos of space but if you follow up with these people, you can connect with others. Follow regular tweeps in the community too.

E.g You’re in the $Magic eco and see an account with $Magic in their bio. Follow. Use a burner if you don’t want to use your main account for this.

This way, you’re always in Loop of whatever is happening in your community or ecosystem. It’s up to you filter out the noice

•Check profile of the project and the number of mutual following/Quality personalities. This is still not a green light but its a Plus

Check engagements. People that retweeted:commented. Are they actual people or bots? You should be able to know when account is a bot.

•Quick Keyword search

Say a project is minting. Come on twitter & Search the project name as a keyword. See what people are saying. Check latest tweets.

Go to the Timeline and check people’s sentiments. Tweet about it in a Twitter Community like @hangoutDao_ and see replies

•Discord

Things to look out for:

•How active is the discord? Are people having organic convos

•Does the Team respond to questions from members or are they sketchy and ban people that raise concerns?

•Joining discord communities like @_DegenZ |@hangoutDao_ would also help.

• COMMUNITIES

You need to integrate yourself into communities outside of twitter. And the only way to do that is to go out your way to make it happen.

I’m personally in a lot of communities on every platform. WhatsApp, TG, discord and have made so many friends in the process

There are so many more communities out there. It’s up to you to find them. Making friends and a circle would do you a lot of good in the NFT space.

•WhitePaper/Roadmaps/website

Read Whitepapers! Tbh, I wasn’t someone that read WPs till I read @Treasure_DAO whitepaper. It was the most fascinating thing I ever read and what followed was a serious of long hours doing reaseach into anything $Magic. I wanted to know everything.

Now, I actually enjoy reading WPs. Some other WPs I found real fascinating are @BattleFlyGame @SmolBrainsNFT @DaoDonNFT.

Take your time to go tru WPs and RoadMaps.

Do they actually have a solid idea or plan or is it just a write up of vague empty words with buzzwords thrown in

2️⃣Don’t rush to mint.

Go tru all the platforms to find other sentiments towards the project.

Use that to make your Decision. Even after doing all these, still not full green light.

We’ve seen projects that ticked all the boxes and rugged but this reduces the chances

Check activities and Volume.

How many people have minted? If only 200 people mint out of a 8k supply in a reasonable time frame, that’s a red flag imo.

3️⃣ART
If it’s an Art project, is the art a quality work done my an actual designer or is it a rip off/cheap fiverr art?

4️⃣Team/affiliations

Find out about the team behind the project.

Are they doxxed? (which isn’t mandatory but it’s a plus)

Do they have a good reputation or track record in the ecosystem?

You see how much hype a project gets when it gets affliated with @garyvee

Real life example? I’ll be minting @Treasure_Arcade just because its by @SonnieNFT. Of course I’ll still Do my own reaseach, read WP and all but that personally is my own green light cos asides from him being a friend , He has a pretty Solid Track record in the $Magic ecosystem

This doesn’t mean projects that don’t have Founders with experience or a track record can’t do well, but again, Like I said. It’s a plus. Think of these Tips like a check list for DYOR. Access the projects on each factor to make your decision

5️⃣Demand

This isn’t that crucial because we’ve seen highly demanded and hyped projects fail. But demand is also something to watch for.

Are people actually interested in the project. There are also projects without hype that actually do well.

6️⃣Burner Wallet

Always use a burner wallet when minting. Especially if you have doubts about the project. Stay safe.
