1. Medical colleges in #TamilNadu were communicated about the change in oath by @NMC_IND 2.5 months ago. It was admitted by the @MaduraiMedical VP in the story (published on Feb 15) below. But...

Why the #TamilNadu govt. did not issue a clarification or circular to all govt. & private medical colleges for the past 2.5 months till April 30, reiterating the stand over a Centre vs. State conflict?

So, why didn't @Subramanian_ma & @RAKRI1 instruct the Director of Medical Education (DME) to issue a circular to all colleges in Feb, immediately when they learnt about the issue, if TN had decided to stick to #HippocraticOath, as opposed to NMC guideline❓❓

To add to the background:

Usually, MBBS freshers take #HippocraticOath during the White Coat Ceremony that is held on Induction Day (the very 1st day when they join college)

This year, things were different coz of months of delay in MBBS admission due to a case at SC

This year, the #MBBS freshers in #TamilNadu attended classes directly, even without Induction Day function and even when counselling was still underway, sticking to the date of commencement of classes mandated by @NMC_IND

When @Subramanian_ma & @RAKRI1 didn't ensure issuance of any circular to medical colleges stating that TN will not follow @NMC_IND guideline, how can the @MaduraiMedical Dean be accused of "violation", "forcing students" & said to have "acted on his own"❓❓

Acc. to sources, #MBBS freshers at another Govt. Medical College in 1 of the delta districts & a few pvt. medical colleges across #TamilNadu too were administered #CharakShapath during white coat ceremonies held recently

@CMOTamilnadu isn't aware or suppression of facts❓

2. Why arrange a student function like a govt. function❓

Was the #Madurai #HippocraticOath issue that indicates lapses by TN #Health Dept. blown out of proportion to gain political mileage, clearly making the @MaduraiMedical Dean a political scapegoat❓

Yes, @MaduraiMedical Dean is accountable for lapses on part of any of his staff/students

And yes, he should have immediately taken strict action against those who did the mischievous act without taking it to his notice & without his permission

Ain't she the authority to issue directions to both govt. & pvt. medical colleges?
