#SCOTUS news are shocking
Even tho no big surprise: This lets the dreams of far-right movements from Poland via France to Brazil come true: to repressively control the female body, thus her reproduction, thus her sex life
I take 1 personal and 2 political points out of this 1/4

As a (hopefully) loving boyfriend, the most terrible moments for gf's were when there was the slightest hint of a potential (!) #pregnancy. To disregard the, (as I'd say as a bystander) emotional horror women go through, is appalling. Women need #support, not #oppression!

Politically (also in #Europe), the far-right has succeeded by playing dirty: Disregarding all democratic traditions and fair play rules for electing #SCOTUS judges, this is a key example of how "just setting an example" is not enough.
No: Key institutions require tough fights!

Finally, we observe how controlling the female body is a key element of #nationalism
Don't let yourself be fooled by "we protect our (!) women" slogans: Nationalism is about reproducing the nation
That depends on women who
a) give birth to
b) "pure" babies

Thus, free sexuality including birth control is THE threat to "the nation". The international far-right is internally aware of that and acts accordingly.
That's why female fights for keeping control of their body are inherently anti-nationalist - everywhere.
