Didn’t get around to posting photos from #Maruichi trip on Tuesday. #Brookline

These potholders…😹😹
Not sure if this scrubber actually has a face on it. 😆 I couldn’t see it but it might have been turned around.
New reusable cutlery sets! 🥄🍴🥢
Decided to get it since I don’t have a set with a knife. I’ve now washed it and not sure how useful it will be. The spoon, fork, & knife are pretty flexible which is not ideal. But the chopsticks seem sturdy. 🥢
The thing I was most excited to find was that Maruichi had restocked these cutting boards! 🥳

I got the small one as a papercrafting surface in January & it’s been great but by the time I went back to get the large one they were out of stock. 😢 I’ve been checking ever since!
Maruichi Select has been adding varieties of the jumbo brown rice onigiri. 🍙 I’ve only had the salmon.

1. "Nath said the study has identified consistent biological problems in ME/CFS patients, who spent up to four weeks as NIH inpatients over two visits. ...

2. OMFG.

“It was important to convince ourselves that there really are biological problems that are reproducible and consistent, and to develop expertise to study ME/CFS, because we hadn’t looked at it before. ...
3.

... Then we will move on to treatment studies. We have a number of different candidates [drugs] we would like to try.”

1. Love to see people who know nothing about a topic feeling the need to opine about it. 🙄

Not going to share the tweet but it was about infant chiropractic care.

Here’s an open access paper, although keep in mind it’s from 2002.

3. As with any other healthcare decision it’s something any individual or caretaker should research and discuss with their doctors.

I wish there were a way for folks to see this documentary but I'm not finding any streaming options.
More about the film here. It's available on DVD.

If you’ve never heard about Norm Mineta & Alan Simpson’s friendship you should know about it.

1. Something I’ve been mulling over for a while is why so many people say they want to support independent thinkers but it often feels like everyone just wants to talk about/listen to people talk about the same handful of subjects.
2. There is so much more going on in the world than the outrage of the hour/day/week/month. 🌏
3. I understand that sometimes something just captures everyone’s attention but I find it so helpful to follow people in other countries where no one is talking about whatever American Twitter is talking about.

1. Just got a marketing email regarding clinical trials & diversity.

Don’t want to blast the company that sent it so I’m not going to include too many specifics or screenshots but if you’re going to talk about "combining science and diversity”, don’t send me an email ...
2. … that contains a photo that appears to have:
- 1 black woman
- 1 white woman
- 1 white man

to tout your “diversity".

Black + white ≠ diversity.
3. Black people are not the only people who have been historically and presently excluded from medical research.

I was excluded from medical research for being Asian. It was a survey study not a clinical trial for patients with sleep apnea.

37. UPDATE:

Amos Yee, who was granted asylum in the US in 2017, plead guilty to 2 charges of child pornography and grooming last week and was sentenced to 6 years in prison.

38. 16 child pornography charges were dismissed as part of Yee’s plea deal.

Yee’s conviction could result in him being deported back to Singapore where he could face more legal problems.
39. The Singaporean government imprisoned Yee twice as a child in 2015 & 2016 for social media posts about Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore’s deceased PM, Christianity, and Islam.
