ஶ்ருதி ஸ்ம்ருதி புராணானாம் ஆலையம் கருணாலயம் |
நமாமி பகவத்3பாத3 ஶங்கரம் லோகஶங்கரம் ||
‘ஶங்கர:’ மங்களங்களை செய்பவரென்று பொருள்.
‘ஶங்கரம் லோகஶங்கரம்’ உலகத்துக்கெல்லாம் நன்மைகளை மங்களங்களை செய்பவர் ‘ஶங்கரம்’.
சங்கராச்சாரியார் reformer கிடையாது. ‘ஶ்ருதி ஸ்ம்ருதி

புராணானாம் ஆலையம்’ – வேதம், தர்ம சாஸ்திரங்கள், புராணங்கள் இதையெல்லாம் வைத்து ஒரு கோயில் கட்டினால் அந்த கோவிலில் என்ன ஸ்வாமியை வைக்கவேண்டும் என்றால் ஆசார்யாளைத் தான் வைக்க வேண்டும்.
‘ஶ்ருதி ஸ்ம்ருதி புராணானாம் ஆலையம் கருணாலயம்’ – வெறும் படிப்பு மட்டும் கிடையாது. அவருக்கு கருணையும்

இருந்தது. கருணைக்கும் ஒரு கடலாக இருந்தார். ‘அந்த ஆதிசங்கர பகவத்பாதாளை நமஸ்கரிக்கறேன்’ என்று இந்த ஸ்லோகத்திலேயும் #தோடகாஷ்டகம் முடிவிலும் சொல்லி நமஸ்காரம் செய்வது வழக்கம். மஹா பெரியவா ஆசார்யாள் மேல் ஒரு ஸ்லோகம் இயற்றியுள்ளார். மஹா பெரியவா 100 வருடங்கள் இருந்தார். ஆனால் அவருக்கு

ஸ்லோகம் எழுதவேண்டும் என்கிற ஆசையே வரவில்லை! இருக்கிறதை எல்லாம் படிப்போம். ஆசார்யாள் கிரந்தங்கள் எல்லாம் படிப்போம் என்று அதையே திரும்ப திரும்ப பிரசாரம் பண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அவர் ‘துர்கா பஞ்சரத்னம்’ என்று ஒன்று இயற்றியுள்ளார். அடுத்தது இந்த ஒரு ஸ்லோகம் ஆசார்யாள் மேல்!

கு3ருர் நாம்னா மஹிம்னா ச ஶங்கரோ யோ விராஜதே |
ததீ3யாங்க்4ரிக3லத்3ரேணு கணாயாஸ்து மனோ மம ||
‘நாம்னா ச மஹிம்னா ச’ பேரிலும் சரி, மகிமையிலும் சரி எவருக்கு ‘ஶங்கரர்’ என்ற பெயரோ, ‘ஶங்கர:’ என்கிற ஆசார்யாளோட பேரே அவர் பிறந்த இந்த ‘வைகாசி சுக்ல பஞ்சமி’ யை வைத்து ‘கடபயாதி ஸங்க்யை’ என ஒன்று,

அதைக் கொண்டு இந்த நாளில் அவருக்கு ‘ஶங்கர:’ என்று பேர் வைத்தார் அப்பா. அந்த பேருக்கு ஏத்த மாதிரி மகிமையோட இருந்தவர் என் குருநாதர். பேருக்கேற்ற மகிமையோட விளங்கினார்.
அவருடைய ‘அங்க்4ரிக3லத்3ரேணு’ – பாத தூளியின்
‘கணாயாஸ்து மனோ மம’ – ஒரு துகளாக இருக்க ஆசைப்படுகிறேன் என்கிறார் மகா

பெரியவா. அப்படி ஒரு பக்தி! ‘ஆசார்யாள் மாதிரி நீங்க’ என்று அவரிடம் யாராவது சொன்னால், “அவர் யானை மாதிரி காரியம் பண்ணினார் 32 வருஷத்துல. நாங்கள்லாம் அவர் பேரை வெச்சுண்டு இருக்கோம். ஆனா அவர் பேரு எங்களுக்கெல்லாம் எதுக்கு வெச்சிட்டு போய்யிருக்கார்னா அதுனாலாயாவது எங்களுக்கு ஒரு நாள்

ஆத்ம சக்தி வந்து அதுனால நாங்க நல்ல காரியம் பண்ணலாமேன்னு வெச்சிருக்கா” என்று சொல்லுவார். இந்த ஸ்லோகத்தை பார்த்தால் பெரியவாளோட வினய ஸம்பத் தெரியும். அப்படி வினயமா இருந்தே மஹாபெரியவா என்னும் ஒரு ஜோதி 100 வருடங்கள் நமக்கு வழிகாட்டவில்லை என்றால் இன்னும் எவ்வளவோ துன்பப் பட்டிருப்போம்.

அதனால் இன்று தோடகாஷ்டகம் சொல்லி மஹாபெரியவாளையும் நமஸ்காரம் செய்வோம்.
