When you teach your kids to be obsessed with guns, grievance and bigotry, they grow up armed, bitter and violent. Republicans know this; they see examples of it daily, as far-right domestic terrorism continues to be the dominant stateside terrorism; but they won’t stop #grooming.
The GOP also mainstreamed child pageants—which sexualize kids in horrifying ways—lowered marriage ages, and empowered sex pests Trump, Moore, Gaetz, Nader, Verastigui, Hastert, and countless others, so in fact they’re America’s chief #groomers even in the way *they* use the term.
I can’t say it enough—if the far right is accusing the rest of America of doing something, 100 TIMES OUT OF 100 it’s because they’re doing the exact thing they’re complaining of and desperately need to distract attention from their own depravities. This rule of thumb NEVER FAILS.

Not sure what to think of this, but this story is now going wide and, if true, is the biggest news in the world right now. Why? Because if Putin is indeed seriously ill—to the point he may die—it makes him so unpredictable that all the Earth is threatened. businessinsider.com/russian-oligar…
*If* Putin has blood cancer and is terminally ill, his invasion of Ukraine may well be a desperate attempt to—as a lasting legacy—rebuild the Russian Empire. His seeming irrationality would suddenly start to have a context. Would a dying man use tactical nukes to ensure a legacy?
Until this once fringe story hit BUSINESS INSIDER, I didn’t realize there’d been so many public indications Putin is ill. I knew about the secret recording on the subject—in which a Russian oligarch says Putin is “ill with blood cancer”—but didn’t really credit it.
When two of your first authors are a former Trump intel chief from the Pentagon and a former Navy intel officer—both of whom are insurrectionists known for spreading Kremlin disinformation to try to destroy America—look in the mirror: you’re the #Groomers.
His site says—I’m not kidding—that “[Brave Books CEO] Trent [Talbot] is arming himself and other conservative parents with children’s books to enthrall their children...” When you’re hiring intel agents to weaponize books to “enthrall” kids with disinformation, you’re a #Groomer.
The books “equip [children] to fight” against “villainous ideologies” in the real world—which include basic ideas long associated with civil rights, trans rights, not publicly being a giant turd to other people, and more. I worry that the kids who read these books will be doomed.

Trump waited literal minutes to seek to profit politically off the Buffalo tragedy, doing so in typically ghoulish fashion but also peppering in a weird analogy between what looks to have been far-right domestic terrorism and a deal he did with far-right terrorists in Afghanistan
PS/ A much more *straightforward* analogy would be this one: Trump cut a devil’s bargain with domestic far-right terrorists to try to stay in power and people died because of it, and Trump cut a devil’s bargain with international far-right terrorists and people died because of it
PS2/ And of course neither Jesse James nor Willie Sutton ever said that they rob banks because that’s where the money is; in fact, Sutton (to whom the line is usually attributed) said it was made up by a reporter who interviewed him, meaning Trump is celebrating literal fake news
This is a great report, and CBS News and @MacFarlaneNews have been doing a great job on January 6. But I’d caution CBS not to confuse the June televised hearings with the HJ6C “presenting its findings” to America. It’s not at all clear a final report will—or should—come in June.
(PS) In June, Congress will give Americans an opportunity to better understand what Congress has learned about January 6—and do so in an environment as far removed from the November election as possible. But the HJ6C has until the end of this year *at least* to *finish* its work.
(PS2) U.S. media has a terrible tendency to turn its own expectations into a demand that others act in accordance with those expectations. I worry about media deciding—after the June hearings—that an HJ6C report is now somehow “late” or “overdue.” That would be a false narrative.
Interesting how the man whose camp is the lead suspect in Dobbs-related leaks to the Wall Street Journal (1 leak), Politico (2), and the Washington Post (1)—*all four* of the Dobbs leaks so far—is the one guy who won’t stop talking about the leak publicly. nytimes.com/2022/05/14/us/…
(PS) It’s cliché to say, “Methinks he doth protest too much,” but crikey, what else to say here? The Washington Post made clear its leak came from a far-right Court camp; no liberal would *ever* leak to the Wall Street Journal editorial board; and Ginni is a damn insurrectionist.
(PS2) Decrying a protest near Kavanaugh’s house, Thomas said—of the GOP, the party that won the 2000 presidential election by *staging a violent riot in Florida*—“We didn’t throw temper tantrums. It is incumbent on us to always act appropriately, and not to repay tit for tat.”
