🧵 The accusations that have come out in the past week or so have been absurd. Females have been expected to be okay w being referred to as “menstruators”, “birthing bodies”, “uterus havers”, among other dehumanizing terms by public officials & publications. Without complaint 1/8

Let alone speaking out even though such terms obscure uniquely female issues and are felt to be offensive by many females. Males, on the other hand, have been allowed to retain their descriptors. No man or boy is referred to as “ejaculators”, “penis havers”. 2/8

Nor would it be right if this were the case. Women have had single sex spaces set aside for the basic needs of safety, privacy, and dignity where we are most vulnerable outside of our homes. 3/8

Now we find that our spaces, w/out consultation, are mixed sex, & allow males to use traditionally female descriptors should they wish, whether their intentions are innocuous or ill. 4/8

Speaking out and advocating for ourselves and other females results in accusations of wanting to wipe a group from society (aka genocide), phobia, and hate, which is patently absurd. Even the use of the dictionary definition of 'woman' is a dog whistle. 5/8

The accusations and insistence of rarely disclosing the message on any stickers (definition of woman, keep prisons single sex) with accusations speaks volumes about the accusers and is an attempt to paint those opposing their messages as evil bigots who want to harm them. 6/8

To be clear: There is no hidden meaning behind the stickers, they are messages advocating for female interests. I cannot speak for everyone, I can speak to the people I do know and for myself advocating for females that we don't want anyone injured or killed. 7/8

We want everyone to have basic liberties. Anyone can advocate for a cause he/she wants. Basic liberties DON'T include removing our boundaries that maintain our basic rights or have unfettered ability to do anything he/she wants. 8/8 #WomensRights #KPSS #SaveWomensSports
