CNN claims "new evidence" shows Shireen Abu Aqleh was killed by Israel – intentionally!

Yet @CNN, who just misreported the death of an armed terrorist as a "teen shot", base their conclusion on
*recycled @Bellingcat analysis* &
*terror-supporting Fatah official*.

Thread:
Background:
On May 21 @CNN reported the death of Amjad al-Fayed as a "teen shot".

CNN ignored that he was an Islamic Jihad member killed attacking Israel's soldiers.

CNN mentions Islamic Jihad mourned him, but not that PIJ call him a "resistance" member.
On May 24 @CNN published an investigation which made 2 key claims:

1. Israel's troops shot Shireen Abu Aqleh
2. They did so intentionally

What is their "new evidence"?
CNN quotes Fatah lawmaker & fmr PNA Jenin Sec Jamal Huweil who "believed the shots were coming from one of the Israeli vehicles".

Huweil, who didn't see any of Israel's soldiers take aim at Shireen, seems to be the basis of @CNN's key claim of "targeting".

What else did he say?
Same Jamal Huweil, "witness" for @CNN's key claim that Israel's soldiers shot Shireen, praised multiple terror attacks on multiple televised appearances...just weeks before CNN based their investigation on him.

Here he praises knife-murder of 4.

CNN's other "new evidence" is reuse of @Bellingcat's 1st published audio analysis – unattributed.

Bellingcat also believed Israel's soldiers fired the bullet but shared Prof. Maher's caveats & uncertainty.

CNN chose not to share that information.
CNN also repeated B'tselem's claim Palestinian gunmen firing couldn't have hit Shireen because buildings separated them.

@CNN missed the many commentators who showed the corner the gunmen fired from directly led to Shireen.
Conclusion:

@CNN didn't provide evidence for key claim that Israel's soldiers "targeted" Shireen – ie intent.

They recycled (poorly) already reported analysis & relied on a terror-supporter to claim Israel's soldiers had shot her at all.

CNN, this is #FakeNews #disinformation
