Well I’ve just read the #SueGray report and it’s absolutely clear that Blackford has not read it yet
As far as the PM is concerned it’s clear the accusations levelled against him were exaggerated and that the main responsibility lied with Civil servants
A few observations…
Purpose intent within emails to wait for PM to leave… 👇
Lack of pre knowledge of PM for his birthday celebration 👇
Clear mention of social distancing regulations in place within Whitehall/DS contrary to the #panorama assertions of the civil servants in last nights documentary - which casts doubt on their testimony
All in all the overriding theme is one of civil servant bosses (probably with good intentions) organising and encouraging the more junior to push the boundaries. The events the PM attended involved a short speech and he left.
My overriding impression is a lot of people owe PM an apology tbh. That debate they held to all let rip at him was a disgrace and the name calling must stop.
I do not believe he knowingly lied. There is no evidence in that report that he knew about emails etc
The end
Addition: Also worth noting that Dominic Cummings is mentioned in the report as having provided no evidence to SG with regards to his claim that he warned against BYOB party.
NB: He talks a lot but NEVER provides the evidence
