The technology to ascertain the direction of the Kabba existed during the period of Shah Jahan. For a Islamist, getting the orientation correct would be a basic need.

Meet Vasanthi

Even before the pandemic, she struggled as her landlady wouldn't permit the use of an electric iron, forcing her to use dirty charcoal

This is time-consuming, smoky, didn't give as good a press as an electric iron & so she struggled to get sufficient customers

She wants to establish a viable biz but is trapped in this cycle

So, we're raising money for deposit for a shop, two years of rental and some petty expenses to help her get a fresh start

When a Christian or Muslim is successful in a biz or career, they will
- contribute back to the community they came from
- be vigilant for economic opportunities (jobs, contracts, sponsorships, donations) for their brethren

- disown the community they came from & cringe to be seen with them (what's the point of being successful if you still keep the same company)

I once had a book called "The World's Stupidest Mistakes!" & in it was the story of a bank robber

This mutt entered a bank in NYC 🇺🇸 with an intention to rob it. There was a crowd, so he took the Bank's blank deposit slip, wrote his threatening message & stood in queue

The q, as is the case with queues, creeped slowly forward. Fed up of waiting, as bank robbers would like to make a quick exit from the crime scene, he angrily walked out of the bank & entered a different bank across the road where there was no crowd!

He walked straight up to the clerk at the counter, handed her the withdrawal slip with the message that he had a gun, this was a bank robbery & she needed to hand over all the cash she had!

The clerk read the handwritten message & said that she couldn't follow the instructions!

In the language debate, here's my two-bit experience:
I spent a few months in a small town called Rairangpur, a Subdivisional HQ in a district called Mayurbhanj in Odisha. If you haven't heard of Mayurbhanj or the town, don't fret. Neither did I, till I needed to go there.

I'd spend every evening in a local eatery specialising in masala mudi (puffed rice). Apart from the mudi, they'd have sweets & spicy ginger tea. The workers were from neighbouring Bengal, the owners Rajasthani & the patrons local Odiya

We'd have long discussions & debates over repeated rounds of ginger tea on every possible topic. Needless to add, the discussions were in Hindi with a smattering of Odiya

Under Indian law, #FreedomOfExpression is NOT absolute
On a left-leaning platform like Twitter, for Hindus, it is severely curtailed. We need to fight the bias but we also need to play it smart & avoid suspension
