We got the Minority status in 2014. History shows once upon a time our whole country & beyond Jainism was followed, we were a majority
(1)
@sandeep_PT How did such a widely followed religion become a Minority? History says, extreme religious rivalry from our own brothers first - Shaiva/Vaishnava/Srivaiṣṇava/Veer Shaiva/Lingayat ousted Jains & Buddhists. Jains wr defeated in debates, killed, mass converted, temples burnt etc
(2)
@sandeep_PT A peep into one of the major incidents of Impalement of Jains that's being debunked by you-know-who, however till today they celebrate their victory over Samanars, the Jains -
@sandeep_PT And then we all became victims of Muslim atrocities on us, where further killings & conversions happened. Our temples were turned into mosques & mausoleums. Similarly we faced atrocities from Christians (Yet to tweet on Goa Inquisition). (5)
@sandeep_PT Despite the odds, during the Mughal rule, Jains were able to strategically win hearts of some kings like Akbar, Jehangir etc & get farmaans in their favour to protect Tirths, stop killing of animals, declare No-Meat days in the kingdom during their festival. (6)
@sandeep_PT Coming back to Hindus & Jains. We are different religions but still ONE. We are united by many similarities in Culture,Religion Ways of life,Ethnicity etc. Jainism as an independent religion NOT a branch of Hinduism, is not taught to us correctly, hence we remain ignorant.
(7)
@sandeep_PT It is very important to understand history, to know our roots & how changes happened. What is Hinduism, how the word was coined, was it really a religion or caste? Hindu comes from the word Sindhu mispronounced by persians & westerners as Sindhu>Indu>India & Sindhu>Hindu.
(8)
@sandeep_PT Sindhu refers to River Sindhu. We are people who lived on the banks or other side of Sindhu, what is known as Indus Valley Civilisation. By Hindu, they meant people of this civilisation. There is no textual or archaeological evidence that there was a religion called "Hindu".
(9)
@sandeep_PT Acknowledging this truth, nowadays Hindus are calling their religion as Sanatan. But fact is that there was no religion with such a name too. #Sanatan means Timeless, it is an adjective that was used to describe the culture/religion/ways of life followed in those times.
(10)
@sandeep_PT With due respect, what we know #Hinduism today is nothing but a bunch of already existing faiths put together into one drum. If it was one religion, there would be uniformity, we would not have different communities following different gods, some eating veg, some meat etc.
(11)
@sandeep_PT If u look at #Jainism, u will see that all Jains believe in 24 Tirthankars. The first being Adinath/Rushabhdev & last being Mahavir. Some differences are there in beliefs between sects, but that's minor.
Hope my sharing helps understand facts, No intention of causing hurt 🙏🏼

@sandeep_PT For people in denial, here is another solid proof of Atrocities towards Jains. A lot more is documented, will tweet as I find more info & the time to make #Threads 🙏🏼

'Shree Vardhaman Shakrastav Stotra' is a collection of 273 Adjectives that emerged spontaneously from the heart of Shakrendra (Indra) Maharaja when he comes to know of Tirthankar's birth.

This stotra was virtually gifted by Shakrendra to Acharya Siddhasen Divakar Surishwarji in the 5th century CE for benefit of mankind. It was lost in the passage of time & rediscovered by Shri Chinubhai Ratilal Doshi from the Ancient Gyan Bhandar in Kavi #Jain Tirth, #Gujarat
3. The word SHAKRASTAV means 'Shakra' (Shakrendra, ruler of 64 Indras of Heaven)+'Stav' (Stavan/hymns) in praise of Lord. The 273 Adjectives are divided into 11 paragraphs known as ‘Alavas’
