The story of the #Commanders over the last 25 years is one of the oddest downfalls in American history. The nail in the coffin being a defensive coordinator claiming an insurrectionist attack on the Capitol was a "dust-up" while the team is being investigated by Congress!

There is no "bingo card" for this franchise because there is no bottom. But no billion dollar company or institution has had a weirder spiral towards to the bottom. From selling stale peanuts from a defunct airline, suing an elderly season ticket holder to cheerleader harassment.

Yet, they drive all the sports coverage in DC. You cannot escape their ineptitude. They are a storied franchise with an attentive fan base that no locality actually wants close. The freak relative you don't want near you. If the team moved to Delaware nobody would care.

It's like the #NFL version of the Jerry Springer Show. Not even Vince McMahon could craft these story lines. These are Jerry Springer. "I'm marrying my sister who is actually an alien birthed by my poodle" is the level of weird in Ashburn.

The only thing that will save them is a sale. Nothing else. General Eisenhower couldn't fix them if given control. There's no hope.

None of my friends dare to care anymore. Most gave up their tickets. Some gave up on the NFL all together-apart from fantasy. Some went to the Ravens. HOWEVER, if there was new ownership, it would be like the fall of the Berlin Wall. A liberation of five generations of fans. Joy.

One last point. A friend just reminded me of a claim I made two years ago which I sincerely believe. A 10th grade student with a C+ average in Econ & basic knowledge of fantasy football could run this franchise better than anybody in the last 25 years.

I'll double down on this. There is a 12 year old right now. Not a savant. Just a normal 12 year old who likes football and people, that if put in charge today--could do a better job.

Show me a hero.
