1/ Market Analysis

The play to earn games have known their great boom during this bullrun with games like Axies Infinity, Sorare and Gods Unchained. This new industry of video games was valued at more than 5 billion $ before falling drastically with the bearmarket.
Once the hype started, one of the big problems of some P2E was the entry price to be able to play, which was a big barrier to further democratization. Speculation has strongly helped their rise but also caused their fall.
Many big studios want to integrate NFT in their games, like Ubisoft and Square Enix (which seems to be backing off). After the hype phase, we are in disillusionment, everyone knows that it is a major advance, but it lacks THE game that will make this revolution accepted.
2/ Game and NFT Presentation

Cantina Royale is the first game developed by this company but others are to come later, this game is a top-down tactical arcade shooter game featuring both single-player and intense online multiplayer battles that takes place elsewhere in space.
There will be, as for a majority of blockchain games, item/weapon management and upgrading, breeding (here called recruitment) to create new NFTs, scarcity management and in-game stats upgrading of NFTs.
The game will be playable by NFT holders as a play-to-earn, but also as a free to play for players who don't want to invest money to play. The latter will be able to access scholarships by borrowing nfts from other players in order to share the rewards like on Axie infinity.
The first NFT collection in the game will be the Space Apes Genisis. The supply will be 15,000 NFT and will have special properties to generate passive income. Other Genesis Collections are coming soon featuring other alien species from The Cantina Lore.
BAYC Holders will be able to integrate their NFTs into the game via a 3D replica and thus play the game as a Play to Earn player without having to invest in an NFT but also rent them to other users. More integrations will be introduced in the future with renowned collections.
3/ Gameplay

- PVE

A PVE mode will be available in the game allowing to raid against bots with the possibility to win in-game rewards such as weapon upgrades, rare items or real money.
From 1 to 4 players will be able to participate in daily raids consisting of several missions of increasing difficulty.
There will be two modes playable in solo or co-op: Missions and wave attacks (similar to a call of zombie mode I guess).
Several types of enemies will be to defeat adapting to the levels of the players in order to adjust the difficulty of the missions, the more powerful the enemies will be the greater the rewards will be.
For these raids you will be able to buy contracts that work as challenges, if you fulfill the conditions you will get extra rewards.
- PVP

5 modes will be available for PVP :

- The battle royal up to 50 players with a ranking, we can suppose more important rewards according to the ranking of the players

- The 4 other modes that will accompany the BattleRoyal are explained below :
4/ NFT integration

- NFT Properties

All NFTs will be distinguished by a certain rarity ranking from Bronze to Legendary. The rarer your NFT is, the more important are its properties and the rewards obtained.
The NFT will have 3 basic stats with a base score between 50 and 80 and upgradeable to 150 and 180 with the NFT leveling up from 0 to 100 :

- Vitality,
- Defense
- Agility
At each leveling up, players will have to pay the game's currency in order to randomly allocate points in one of the 3 skills. Characters not linked to an NFT will not be able to evolve.
In addition to statistics, NFTs will have random Perks indexed to their rarity level, so they also range from 50 to 180 depending on the level of the NFT.
- Recruitments (Breeding)

The game offers a recruitment mechanic (often called breeding in P2E), it is different here because only one NFT is needed to do recruitment.
The rarer your NFT is, the more likely your recruiting NFT is to be rare, but this does not prevent you from recruiting a rarer NFT than the one you are using, even if the chances are much lower.
Genesis NFTs will be able to earn 1% of the income that recruited NFTs will make even if they are not in your possession, this includes in-game earnings but also sales of these NFTs on the secondary market.
NFT weapons:

A character's attack stats depend on their weapon, there are 5 types shown in the infographic below. Players will start with generic, non-upgradeable weapons and will then be able to unlock or purchase NFT weapons that can be upgraded.
Weapons can be forged from items recovered during missions or from loot boxes.
5/ F2P vs P2E

To summarize, the differences between F2P and P2E players depend on whether they have NFT characters in their possession or not.
NFT characters can increase their characteristics, earn more rewards, are more powerful, can equip upgradable NFT weapons, have special abilities, have access to recruitments and can be rented for scholarships.
Much of the game content will be unavailable to F2P players, I have not found any information about whether F2P and P2E players play in the same lobby, or whether they can't meet in-game.
6/ Game Economy

- Rewards

Players will be able to earn XP in PVE and PVP modes to increase the level of their NFT. The higher the level and the rarity of the NFT, the higher the in-game rewards and "imperial" currency (which is the equivalent of the $CRT token in the game).
The rewards in $CRT tokens will be scattered over all the game modes, we can imagine that the high level PVP will give the most rewards, the PVE will be used as a daily farm for regular players.
- Incomes

Imperial Crowns should be used to upgrade NFTs, open Lootboxes, unlock in-game Assets and purchase optional contracts to increase mission rewards.
This is supposed to bring a continuous cash flow into the ecosystem in order to maintain the health of the $CRT economy which will be used outside the game for buying and selling NFTs on the marketplace, rewarding NFT and token stacking, and recruiting characters.
7/ Verko and Defi

It's the Verko platform that will serve as NFT marketplace and Lending. It's intended to be usable by all, even users with no knowledge of blockchain to facilitate their access to the premium part of the game.
It will therefore be usable without having to create a Maiar wallet beforehand, everything is done when registering on the site.
Via this site players will be able to:

- Buy and Sell NFT
- Lend or Rent their NFT
- Search for players interested in scholarships

Players who want to lend their NFTs have two options:

- Put them in the stacking pools
- Lend them directly to another player
The stacking pools will collect a part of the rewards earned by the borrowers and distribute them to the lenders via the formula below, your reward as a lender will depend on the time of loan and the rarity of your NFT according to the total of those present in the pools:
On the other hand, if you want to specifically lend a player your NFT via scholarships, you can set the reward distribution with your borrower yourself but will not gain anything from the stacking pool.
8/ Tokenomics

The tokenomics of the project are detailed below, I don't have much special to say about them, they seem ok
9/ Roadmap

Below the Roadmap, we can see that the game will be released very soon (for July). The development of the project is almost finished, only the PVE mode and some PVP mode are planned for Q3 2022 and the tournaments for Q4 2022.
10/ Team

Unfortunately, we don't have much information about the team, only the two leaders of the project are present. We know that they worked for the studio Angry Mob Games for the Aliens games and that they collaborated on some projects with Google Facebook and Valve.
No worries about the abilities and integrity of the team but a little disappointed not to have a complete presentation of all the members.
11/ Personal opinions

First of all, without talking about the project itself, I'm a bit disappointed by the choice of the Elrond team to incubate such a project. Elrond is used us to innovative projects or projects tackling important issues for the construction of Web3.
Here, sorry for my perhaps exacerbated frankness, but I see almost no innovation, only déjà vu except for the NFTs interoperability part which I admit I like (the idea, not the realization).
The Verko platform on the other hand it seems to me much more interesting because it represents a centralization of the solutions brought for the P2E in order to bring exchanges and--
--scholarships of confidence between users as well as a possibility of interoperability between all the games and NFT developed under Elrond.
Moreover I would have several points to underline which seem to me problematic:

1/ The game is neither innovative nor graphically stunning compared to Illuvium for example. We stay on Mobile Like video games. We are in the middle of a bearmarket, we have time.
If Elrond's will was to present a P2E in its Launchpad catalog, I'm sure we could have found something better to incubate by being more patient. The game reminds me a lot of Theta Arena, a F2P and P2E Moba.
2/ I hope that what is being touted as NFT BAYC interoperability in 3D really doesn't look like that. If it's a single model with just the colors changing, it's not amazing. I would have liked to see a faithful representation here, that all the attributes of BAYC are present.
Of course it's a lot of modeling work, but for simplistic 3D, 160 different attributes is not insurmountable either. In this case, it's not interoperability, just a pale copy hoping to generate hype on the back of BAYC.
3/ The proposal to have two types of players P2E and F2P is for me essential, otherwise the project will sink as soon as the Ponzi scheme breaks down because the entry fee has become too expensive for 99% of the players interested in the game.
A P2E game, in order to be viable in the long run, has to find the right balance between growth and stagnation of the number of players, while having stable revenues to reward the try-harders of the game.
As if LoL for example used a part of the revenue from skins to pay the top 5% of players.
That's why the game still has to be attractive to the 95% of players who aren't looking to make money, while still encouraging them to spend small amounts of money from time to time to reward the players who put the most effort into it.
Here I see no interest in playing as F2P players, the entire game seems designed for NFT players, blocking out most of the content for casual players.
The white paper says that F2P players will be able to continue to progress without spending money, but on all the points raised, it is still explicitly said that only NFT players have access to these improvements (lvl up, upgradable weapon, special skill, recruitment).
We'll see once the game is released though, as the white-paper lacks details on the evolution in the game for the F2P part.
4/ It may be a misunderstanding on my part, but I have the impression that F2P players are playing with P2E players in PVP games, so if this is the case, the game is a Pay-to-Win and Pay-to-Fast game.
I don't need to tell you that F2P players will stagnate at the bottom of the leaderboard and will be eaten like small fish by NFT players, not to mention the frustration that this will bring them.
So maybe it's deliberate on their part to push the majority of players to scholarships or to borrow from NFT but in my opinion it's not the best solution for the sustainability of the game to propose an obvious stagnation of F2P players.
5/ On the positive side, I would say that the fact that the project is almost finished is a good omen, I don't count the number of P2E development promises that must have been forgotten during this bullrun.
Also something comforting, they have rather renowned investors in the project, it shows that the development is professional and well supervised
The team looks experienced, too bad we can't really see the whole team composition and their CVs. The stacking part of NFT via their loan with rewards globalized in a pool and then redistributed is also something for me positive.
It allows all players wanting scholarships to have it, and not only good players with a future in the ranking and scrupulously chosen by the NFT holders so that their foals bring them the most rewards possible.
This is also a point of economy that I like if the game has a future "esport" other than the lure of gain, it is a form of patronage to support the best players who can not afford to use the NFT so he can perform in the ranking in the best conditions while being paid.
You will have understood that I do not carry the project in my heart, but I only ask to see we can always be surprised.
Some of the problems mentioned are just guesses due to some lack of information on the White Paper, and can be solved by themselves once the game is released.
However, despite my reluctance, if the project manages to build a play-to-earn model that lasts over time and keeps the hype going in the long run, this would be more than enough to make it a success as it is one of the few projects that can survive more than 3 months.
Personally I have my Elrond stacked, I still plan to buy tickets because it is unlikely to lose financially, but my short and long term risk management will be very different than if the project had won me over.
I encourage you to make your own opinion on the project and do not listen to my feelings as a truth, besides if you have corrections to my thread it is with pleasure

A last argument about what's wrong for me : presenting the project with a marketing leverage of a Lore borrowed from #BAYC, instead of presenting their own universe first in order to have something fresh and after talking about @BoredApeYC integrations, Space Apes = quite boring
