A lot of people don't seem to understand what we'd lose if we allow the tory government to scrap the HRA. So I have read it, so you don't have to. Here is a thread of what we'd lose...

1. The Right to Life:
'Everyone's right to life shall be protected by law.'

2. Prohibition of Torture:
'No one shall be subjected to torture or to inhumane or degrading treatment or punishment.'

3. Prohibition of Slavery and Forced Labour:
'No one shall be held in slavery or servitude.'

4. Right to Liberty and Security:
This is one that I'm surprised the Conservatives and right-wingers, in general, aren't up in arms about.

5. Right to a Fair Trial:
I'm not overly shocked they want to get rid of this one. We've seen Priti-Patel trying to remove our basic right to protest about their severe incompetence.

6. No Punishment Without Law:
'No one shall be held guilty of any criminal offence on account of any act or omission which did not constitute a criminal office under national or international law at the time when it was committed'

7. Right to Respect For Private and Family Life:
'Everyone has the right to their private and family life, their home and their correspondence' Although instead of "their" it says "he/his" in the document.

8. Freedom of Thought, Conscience and Religion:
'Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change their religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private'

9. Freedom of Expression:
'Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without the interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers.

10. Freedom of Assembly and Association:
'Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and to freedom of others, including the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of their interests'

11. Right to Marry:
'Men and women of marriageable age have the right to marry and to found a family, according to the national laws governing the exercise of this right'

12. Prohibition of Discrimination:
'The enjoyment of the rights and freedoms set forth in the convention (ECHR) shall be secured without discrimination on any ground such as sex, race, colour, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin etc.'

13. Restrictions on Political Activity of Aliens:
'Nothing in Articles 10, 11 and 14 shall be regarded as preventing the High Contracting Parties from imposing restrictions on the political activity of aliens'

14. Prohibition of Abuse of Rights:
'Nothing in this Convention may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or any person any right to engage in any activity or perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth etc.'

15. Limitation on use of Restrictions on Rights:
'The restrictions permitted under this Convention to the said rights and freedoms shall not be applied for any purpose other than those for which they have been prescribed'

16. Protection of Property:
'Every natural or legal person is entitled to the peaceful enjoyment of their possessions.'

17. Right to Education:
'No person shall be denied the right to education.'

18. Right to Free Elections:
The High Contracting Parties undertake to hold free elections at reasonable intervals by secret ballot, under conditions which will ensure the free expression of the opinion of the people in the choice of the legislature.'

19. Abolition of the Death Penalty.

It is VITAL that these people are removed from office IMMEDIATELY.
They want to take away our rights and stay in power. They are dangerous.
