I am absolutely gutted by the decision of @UNOCHA to discontinue the weekly updates. They were rarely on time, usually had some errors, but it was one publication that put a reality check on #disinformation about the #TigraySiege.

Without this reality check, the Ethiopian regime’s disinformation goes unchallenged. Example. Last week an EU delegation was allowed to visit Tigray. They confirmed what we knew about fuel. The regime called this a MYTH.

This is from the final update. Since the gradual reopening of the route in April, they haven’t been able to transport enough fuel for a single month of distribution. It's not a myth. It's a genocidal siege.

The govt has been blocking fuel for more than a year in Tigray. This is from July 02, 2021 right after the TDF pushed the Ethio-Eritrean forces out of Central Tigray. Tigray didn’t see another tanker for 10 months.

The government disinformation about fuel is designed to kill civilians. Blocking fuel for aid distribution during a famine of this magnitude is designed to make an area unable to support human life.

When fuel is blocked from coming into Tigray, guess what happens to trucks that make it into Tigray?

They don’t make it back to the warehouse in Afar.

According to the regime, every truck that runs out of gas in Tigray is stolen by the TPLF.

They write articles about the trucks.

Privileged Canadian professors funded by mining corporations break ethical standards to ask POWs about the trucks.

All of this happens while Tigrayans starve to death.
