John Horgan built his brand on Geoff Meggs' 'The Bonnie Henry Mom & Pop Show', with Bonnie playing BC's mom to John's paternalistic 50s throwback dad. John was told to stand near Bonnie from time to time and smile and wave. It worked for a time & ended badly.

John's a proponent of the disproven notion of "immunity debt". He thinks getting infected is good for you & your immune system is just a little rusty from lack of use while overly sheltered during the pandemic. John doesn't believe you should be able to choose to not be infected.

John is also an arrogant a**hat, and in my opinion, may be viewed as misogynistic if it was indeed him shutting down world-renowned physicist Lidia Morawska at the WHO's April 3, 2020 emergency meeting.

Lidia Morawska was honoured by Time Magazine in October 2021 for her integrity, the quality of her science, and fighting for scientific truth to be known because she and many other scientists understand how to save lives & prevent a mass disabling event.

John was not honoured in such a way. John's misunderstandings derive from his arrogance & devaluation of multidisciplinary approaches to knowledge & problem-solving. eg. Refusing to work with & respect engineers, aerosol scientists, historians, atmospheric physicists, chemists...

Meanwhile, you have the Koch Foundation doing what they do when they find a break between scientists. It's a replay of tobacco, asbestos, cancer, & climate change denial tactics resulting in the Great Barringron Declaration aka the 'Urgency of Normal'.

Populism makes strange bedfollows. John Horgan and Jason Kenney aligned their @BCNDPCaucus & @UCPCaucus with the 'Merchants of Doubts' selling the Koch Foundation's propganda to a worn out public desperate to believe 2019 will come back again.

For 2 years, Alberta and BC have vied for the title 'Florida North' with BC ultimately taking the win - though it begs the question whether it may be more accurate to refer to Florida as 'British Columbia South'.

While Horgan ultimately generated a worse collapse of the healthcare system, a higher excess death rate, worse opacity in governance & data, greater ongoing marginalization & repeated victimization of vulnerable minorities, Kenney had some success too.

Horgan & Kenney are finally exiting the stage. Their leadership races will be held this fall during what may be the worst wave to date with new party leaders possibly facing a double pandemic of COVID & Monkeypox by the end of the year.

It's doubtful Horgan or Kenney have put any effort or time into understanding pandemic science, the history of #DropletDogma vs #COVIDisAirborne, its implications for an equitable society and #ableism, or the tunnel vision of health specialists like John Conly.

Canada needs western leadership that brings a multidisciplinary independent science advisory group to the public health and governance table. We need to take stand, and demand rationale leadership. The Koch Foundation isn't building a society that is better for us, but we can.
