I'm watching @hbomax #phoenixrising listening to Evan Rachel Wood's story. Her first account of a "crime" is that she claims Manson penetrated her during the filming of a music video but she never said stop. She never said no. There was a room full of people, she says

But she never cried out for help. If your boyfriend is having sex with you and you don't say no and in fact are hamming it up for the cameras, he's going to think you like it. That is not a crime. That is literally consent. So far, this documentary is not convincing.

But I'll keep at it. Maybe there will be something more substantial than "I hated it but I didn't tell anyone or say no."

Episode 2 wood says he was monitoring her email and all coms and she couldn't ask for help to get out. Same episode, she goes to film the wrestler by herself for months. Doesn't get help. Goes back to Manson willingly. This doesn't make sense.

After describing him as an abusive monster she also says she was "excited to see" her "boyfriend" and tell him all about filming. Does this sound like someone who is in a violent scary relationship? She had the chance to flee. Didn't take it.

Manson seems like a horrible boyfriend. But these girls were not held against their will even by their own testimonies. So....what is this about? Wood also described in episode 2 the "first time" he got violent with her. But in ep1 she claimed rape. That wasn't violent?

Now the self described survivors discuss being coerced into saying the N word on camera. Perhaps these women are deeply ashamed of how they behaved when tweaking out with Manson and instead of taking responsibility it has to be his fault they didn't just leave. But free drugs...

I didn't hear anything that was close to evidence that would convict Manson of anything. That's probably why he didn't get arrested. What it sounds like is a bunch of drugged people doing things they now regret. Lesson: don't do drugs and say no to rich weirdos
