Today, CBP published a 500+ page report of what amounts to a sham investigation of Border Patrol’s racist & violent abuse of Haitian migrants at Del Rio last September.

They didn’t interview a single Haitian migrants. Not 1 survivor of the abuse they supposedly investigate. 🧵

CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus said “efforts were made” to interview Haitian migrants. That is a bald-faced lie.

W/ @HaitianBridge & @jactioncenter, we represent 9 Haitian migrants who suffered mistreatment at Del Rio. The investigators were in communication w/ our legal team.

@HaitianBridge @jactioncenter CBP deliberately chose to exclude directly impacted Haitian migrants’ testimony from their investigation. They silenced the voices of Black migrants in 500 page report about an incident that involved massive anti-Black racism.

@HaitianBridge @jactioncenter On the topic of anti-Black racism, the very language used to describe Black people seeking asylum in CBP’s sham investigation exposes the deep systemic racism of the US immigration system and of CBP.

@HaitianBridge @jactioncenter Bottom line: this investigation is a sham. It’s CBP investigating itself without even interviewing survivors of abuse. It’s a cover-up for Border Patrol, the largest law enforcement agency in the United States, which is racist, rotten & violent.
