Books In Politics – Who Knew?

Until now, my book sales numbers prove I am a terrible self- and product-promoter. Terrible. Well, friends, that's about to change.

2) Why? And why should you care? The why is this. Our movement, the #MAGAMovement lives. But it meanders. I have an analogy to offer. Boat and Keel. We've seen, we topple a bit as a movement, haven't we?

3) In the visual analogy above, the forces that lead us to topple are all the same forces that have prevented Republicans from living up to a true, Conservative agenda for the past hundred years. The stabilizer we need are the 10 Planks of the #MAGA Movement.

4) While unapologetically promoting my book, it is important you understand its basis. I, and my wife @KateScopelliti are in no way the creators of the message. Candidate Donald J. Trump created the message. And it's more. We have to talk about that.

5) Trump is a pragmatist, a businessman of course, but as a politician, he's a pragmatic leader who gets things done. It is, therefore, easy to miss his intellect, his "stable genius," if you will. He is both a philosopher and a scientist. I mean these terms very literally.

6) This is just one "for instance." This is one of four books on politics, by Trump, that I read before I decided to support him. It is an outstanding book. Yet, I know few who have read it. You should!

7) While I've always believed in our book, I recently had the opportunity to have my faith and confidence built even higher by @joekent16jan19. I thought we'd spend 15 or 20 minutes together. This interview went 2 hours, following the #MAGAPlanks.

8) What amazed me is that while @joekent16jan19 and I totally agree, his take on the 10 Planks was, not quite completely different than my own, yet, still, incredibly informative to me. His knowledge and clarity of thinking was more refreshing than I can express.

9) How many of us voted for Trump in 2020? My guess is 80,000,000; the largest landslide re-election in American history. Something tells me that each of us has our own individual take on these 10 Planks. Yet each of us recognizes all 10 of them from our leader.

10) Recognizing them, already, why would you need a book to talk about them on paper? Time and thought are the answers. You need to spend time, in thought, truly thinking about all 10 Planks, one by one, each and all in sum. Ponder that.

11) Take, for instance, my threads here at Twitter. I am constantly told that no one reads, no one has the attention span for it. Yet for years now, with little more than ideas, concepts, logic expressed in words, my threads have succeeded. I am thanked for them repeatedly.

12) The truth is there is power in the written word. We have known for centuries that the pen is mightier than the sword. Our founding as a nation was literally the first founding based on philosophy and ideas. We are people of the word, of logic, of logos.

13) I have now made the commitment to video interviews, following the format @KateScopelliti and I created back in 2018. I want to share my method with you.

14) At the beginning of our interview, I honestly gave @joekent16jan19 complete control over our time and focus. I offered him to select any of the 10 Planks, and agree, disagree, or go wherever he might choose. In coming interviews, the same offer will always be given.

15) No one could have been more surprised than me when Joe opted to discuss all 10, in order. I instantly knew that we'd be doing a long- and NOT a short-form interview. I could NOT have imagined how much I'd learn. While I've shared this before, here's my most important example.

16) @joekent16jan19 explained that our Quality Of Life, right now, is being obliterated by the price of energy, and the far-reaching inflation that follows therefrom. That alone is a type of crystal clarity just by itself. But then Joe goes tactical, and NUCLEAR!

17) Joe WILL NOT sign off on Biden's Federal Budget until he reverts back to Trump's Energy-Independence policies. THAT is PRECISELY the sort of spine I've been dreaming of, but so frustrated for lack of, in Republican Congresses. The Power Of The Purse. A Republican Squad.

18) That's a thought I'd never have had - that American Quality Of Life DEMANDS a Squad of Congressmen will NOT back down from the fight and WILL use the Power Of The Purse to arm wrestle even Biden's Administration into Energy Independent Policies.

19) As you can tell, I'm working hard to document what I learned from @joekent16jan19. I also went back and re-read our chapter 4 on point and, well, I was proud of our book and our work. If you choose to read it, you won't be disappointed.

20) Not only will any reader NOT (or, like Joe, as yet non-reader) have the same take on the 10 Planks, each will have his own perspective and reasoning. We truly are a very large tent, and that's a wonderful thing. Yet still, I need to push YOU!

21) One of the things I most love is when readers tell me what they disagree with in this, that, the other planks, or with #MAGA as a whole. We're not perfect. We need to seek true improvement at every turn. Let us listen with open ears and open hearts. There is a way to do so.

22) We listen best when we're MOST confident in where we stand, in what we think, in our history, in our vision, in our logic and reasoning. Confident, you need not defend or protest. You need not attack, for that matter. You may simply, calmly assert. Then listen.

23) In coming interviews, as often as I may, I will carefully study my interviewee's take, and report it back here. In all cases I will truly listen. And, in all cases, I hope you too will truly listen. And, I repeat, toward such ends you NEED TO STUDY. You need to read.
