Real-time tracking of #Republican progression:

First, they immediately questioned and denied the reports of a 10 y/o child in Ohio being raped and traveling to Indiana for an abortion. They immediately claimed it was a Democrat fomented lie. 1/⏬

Ohio AG Yost (@DaveYostOH) and Jim Jordan (@Jim_Jordan) immediately came out swinging, not only casting doubt on the story--but also aspersions on every media source, every discussion, and every Democrat.

Irony that these two are Ohioans. Shocking, Yost is even the Ohio AG! 2/⏬

RWNJ media (e.g. Breitbart) still has the Yost story that states his office doesn't have any record or knowledge of such a victim. Despite some couching, this shows how shoddy Ohio's law enforcement is at the highest echelon.

Brietbart hasn't (even today) amended the story. 3/⏬

Comments and discussions on Breitbart, OAN, Newsmax, Fox "News", ... all are so rabidly unhinged, that it is distressing and damaging to the mental health of readers. Overwhelmingly, it is an infestation that completely misrepresents the reality of OH #HB480.

No moderation. 4/⏬

New corroborating stories emerge. Rather than acknowledge this reality and its implications, @govkristinoem and others go on the offensive: it is a State's right, "what about the rapist"-ism, with no genuine empathy for the child victim whatsoever. To them, it is God's will. 5/⏬

Even on TWTR, misinformed folks allege that the victim could've indeed gotten an abortion in OH (no, she couldn't; no exception for rape) or insinuate that it's an emergency (we know how that'll be litigated), some even suggesting that a 10 y/o could've actually delivered! 6/⏬

Fast forward, the Republican narratives have changed. Righteous anger against the alleged perpetrator is the preferred position of #RWNJ, debating what could be done to him. There are simply no empathetic discussions of the 10 y/o rape victim. Barely any. 7/⏬

Finally today, we have the ultimate boogeyman. Once the alleged perpetrator was identified, the entire #MAGA and #UltraMAGA fully supported by the Republican establishment have arrived at the conclusive cause: Illegal Immigration. What is their primary focus? 8/⏬

The Republican thrust is simple: What about the rapist? Why aren't "Sleepy Joe" or "Demonrats" talking about the rapist? Revisiting the previous right-wing articles (most remain uncorrected), reader comments are filled with dubiousness still as to whether it really happened! 9/⏬

Rather than see the big picture of rape committed by ALL ethnicities (note: whites dominate rape in the US), #MAGA has lost focus. There is no courage or desire to discuss the story of the victim. What is she going through? What did she already and will endure? And why? 10/⏬

Truth is, this will happen again and again. My disgust is complete and ripe after hearing an 18-y/o young woman (allegedly also a rape survivor!!) of MAGA and of Christian "Right", openly, fiercely and despicably advocating for the victim to have been denied the abortion. 11/⏬

Religious dogma has overtaken sensible, prudent discussions of civilized form. Our political system is a mirage hiding a cesspool of misanthropes, with nearly every elected official having lost their moral compass. To me, personally, there are some exceptional leaders. 12/⏬

We are not a perfect Union. To march toward that perfect Union, that shining city up on the hill, we must look to our true leaders who lead by the power of their examples, not by their examples of power. 13/⏬

To make and effectuate long-lasting, permanent change: the #BidenHarris administration needs Congressional support. We must be honored to support Biden & Harris to lead America in this moment of multiple world-wide crises. For that, we need a principled, effective Congress. 14/⏬

Vote. Vote like your next breath depends on it. Elect leaders with integrity and a well-articulated policy platform that is based on reality, not dogma or religiosity, nor ignorance and fears.

Give a filibuster-proof Congress to Biden & Harris.
