You'll notice how careful the Yale AND Harvard grad is to parse his language, but he was ABSOLUTELY involved in the conspiracy to overturn the election results, using his position as governor on television to help promote and encourage an idea that was patently illegal.
Small wonder he doesn't want the "feds" investigating things in Florida. I'm not a lawyer but it would appear to me that he is obstructing justice here by telling the public, essentially, that if you talk to federal investigators they may try to "ruin" your life.
The idea of using electors who select a presidential candidate AGAINST the popular vote in a state isn't a new one. Back in 2000 John Eastman was promoting the idea as a back up plan if the courts didn't rule in George Bush's favor.
John Eastman's theory about legislatures overturning elections would require illegal acts, but a case scheduled to be heard by the supreme court is looking to overturn that.
Last year it's reported that Clarence Thomas and Ron DeSantis communicate fairly regularly, was Ginni Thomas a link between DeSantis and Mark Meadows on Nov 5th? I think @January6thCmte
and @TheJusticeDept
should be examining that, if they aren't already.
Members of the "freedom caucus" played key roles in the insurrection.
"Biggs, chairman of the House Freedom Caucus and one of Trump’s top allies in the House, was one of dozens of congressional Republicans who voted to object to the electoral results."
Another key player: Republican Rep. Bill Posey opposed election security bills, then after Trump lost, he wrote/signed no less than 8 letters to various govt agencies demanding the "feds" investigate "foreign interference" and "widespread fraud"
Bill Posey is buddy-buddy with Rep. Andy Biggs, and also played a key role in helping to legitimize the "birther conspiracy" that Trump used to launch his political aspirations.
The 'freedom caucus', not to be confused with the 'liberty caucus', are both malignant outgrowths of the #TeaParty movement which was fueled by racist backlash against Obama's presidency. The REPUBLICAN "Liberty Caucus" hails from Posey's district.
So it wasn't shocking to me that "Moms For Liberty" sprang from the same place, or that Posey's district, #BrevardCounty was #1 for number of insurrectionists being arrested.
Even more shocking to me was the fact that #EO13848 the executive order that Byrne, Flynn, Powell and others thought Trump could use to seize voting machines and re-run elections was issued only two days after I wrote this opinion piece in @floridatoday.
That was probably a coincidence, I think the anonymous op ed in the New York Times is what spurred someone to draft that executive order. But I DONT think its a coincidence that Bill Posey's conspiracy theories mirror many of Orly Taitz ideas from 2009.
This is a map of Florida's Federal Judicial Districts, for no particular reason...👀
Andrew Gillum was recently indicted for fraud in Florida's northern District, but Matt Gaetz continues to campaign for Congress and raise money...even though he publicly threatened a federal witness in 2019.
And even though he publicly encouraged putting explosives in metal detectors at the U.S. Capitol building. 🥴
Seriously.
And of course Florida's Attorney General signed on to the #Kraken lawsuit which even the radical right-wing supreme court refused to hear.
So, while Ron DeSantis rages against "woke math" and drag shows, I'd just like to finish with the hashtag #VisitFlorida. It's the "free-est" state. Lol.
They admit to nearly every element of a conspiracy to run a fraudulent candidate, for the sole purpose of disenfranchising tens of thousands of voters' right to participate in the election, as well as admitting it was done to hurt a particular candidate while helping another.
Joe Aiello shares a business address with lawyer Jeffery Golub, pictured below. Also in the picture: County Commission Candidate Rob Feltner-who is the ostensible beneficiary of this fake candidate-and Brevard County Clerk of The Court Rachael Sadoff.
