Des bizarreries de train vers Sigmaringen heureusement rattrapées, et une section à vélo vers Salem jolie mais pénible !

The day was supposed to start w/ an IRE train ride from Stuttgart HBf to Sigmaringen, as listed on the Interrail app ↙️.

But looking up on DB website, this train was leaving from Plochingen, not going through Stuttgart.↘️

So, how to quickly reach Plochingen from Möhringen, at peak hour, w/ a bike? 🤔

❌ Not by bike (too far away)
❌ Not by metro (bikes not admitted at peak hour)
✅Fortunately, in Stuttgart S-Bahn trains accept bikes at peak hour 🎉 @VVS
➡️ S1 -> Plochingen was the saviour! Image
Once in Plochingen, the IRE was indeed waiting, with a bike compartment & staff to help, but quite intimidating stairs & no belt to fasten the bike.

After this scenic (but belated) train ride, there were 46 km left to cycle.
Proved to be a scenic but overall straining route:

🤯 this time the route calculated by @komoot went though steep gravel paths or busy traffic roads 😱 Image
👍fortunately, the frequent and precise bike path indications helped to find safe alternatives and to enjoy the views @ADFC_BW !

I arrived exhausted in Salem. Fatigue building up?

Now happy to 😴. Tomorrow, a break from cycling ! ImageImageImage

- Jour 24: pause à Lausanne 🇨🇭
- Jour 25 (dernier jour!): fête nationale 🇨🇭et retour à Lyon 🇫🇷, avec une ultime frayeur de ne pas pouvoir monter dans le TER... #monvélodansletrain

La journée 25 commence en 🚞 RE Lausanne-Genève:
- même en ce jour de fête nationale, les trains circulent fréquemment, à heure fixe 👍
- comme précédemment, train accessible et espace modulaire vélos/poussettes/PMR + espace jeux 👧🧒au-dessus
Arrivée à Genève, on retrouve la signalisation vélo @SchweizMobil ; par contre gare aux rails du tram !

Petit tour à vélo de 15km aux 4 coins de la ville.
Le marquage vélo au sol & les feux vélo sont clairs et guident les cyclistes pr les changements de direction. @ProVeloGeneve ImageImageImage

Bâle -> Lausanne en🚞, entrecoupée d'une portion Bern -> Fribourg à 🚵

Après un arrêt au marché central pour ravitaillement, achat à l'automate du billet vélo journalier (14 CHF) et montée dans un RE vers Olten.
Super équipement
- pour les vélos : racks & strapontins
- mais aussi pr les enfants: une aire de jeux intégrée au 2e étage😍 @presse_CFF Aire de jeux pour enfants a...Espace vélo/poussetts/PMR m...
Le RE suivant Olten -> Berne, exploité par @blsAG, est lui aussi adapté aux vélos, même si d'un aménagement moins flexible que le train précédent.

⚠️De +, la position de la voiture vélo n'est pas mentionnée sur l'affichage à quai, contrairemt aux trains CFF.

@DBRegio_BW A stop in Schaffhausen gave a first taste of the excellent 🇨🇭 bike/train accessibility:
- ramps in all train stations,
- bike map of the city in the station,
- signs for the main bike routes
- most streets allowed to bikes

Traversée de l' 🇩🇪 !
- Tour de Hambourg à 🚴‍♀️, entre lacs et ports
- Long trajet (700km) jusqu'à Stuttgart en ICE🚄
- Vélo à Stuttgart et ascension de 200 m en Zacke, le métro à crémaillère !

Since the ICE only leaves at 1pm, it leaves time for a bike tour of Hamburg! 😍

🚴‍♀️ In 2015 I had already "toured" the city by bike... at full speed during the triathlon.

The city is very bike-friendly:

- the streets all around the Binnenalster and Aussenalster lakes give priority to bikes,
- everywhere the bike paths painted in red make it very easy to find one's way, even near traffic-heavy streets.

Regarding bikes on train:
- very practical signs on the platform
- but VERY high stairs to board the IC train !

The journey started with a nice 🚴‍♀️ itinerary, recommended by @regnauld , between Amager strand and København H station.

Secured bike lanes, crossing a park then the river by "the snake" cycling path: great cycling infrastructure @GreaterCph 👍👏 Image
Then, the train part of the day began.

@omDSB had made it impossible to remotely book bike seats in advance for the direct CPH-Hamburg train (5 hours). 😡

After a night in the ferry cabin, an announcement at 6 about our arrival at 7. On the deck, bikes disembark last. We are in fact 3 bikes !

We cycle together in @cmportab behind trucks during about 1.5km, then a bicycle lane appears. Much more reassuring than in Travemünde ! ImageImageImage
However the 7.5-km bike ride from @cmportab to Malmö Central station is not smooth:

construction works, bike lanes along heavy traffic roads, lack of signs, and inadequate GPS routes... we often stop or do U-turns to change directions. Image
