As a Kansan, don't believe the spin in the media. #Kansas did NOT vote to enshrine #abortion as a state right. 🧵1/8
The Kansas constitution does not enumerate any rights regarding abortion. The Kansas Supreme Court decision ruling that it does was wholly dependent on Roe. The death of Roe should reverse the state ruling. 2/8
KS Pro-Life Lawmakers do not have their hands tied. They simply need to pass laws against abortion (a ban preferably) that will go to court. This leads to two options. 3/8
Option 1: The Kansas Supreme Court overturns the decision and the new laws against abortion stand in KS.
This will undo the terrible decision made by our State Supreme Court. 4/8
Option 2: The Kansas Supreme Court upholds its decision sans Roe.
In this case, the law can be challenged and taken to #SCOTUS. In my opinion, SCOTUS is prepared to protect the lives of the unborn. 5/8
I don't believe that the Kansas Supreme Court is willing to risk upholding the state decision, that going to SCOTUS, and risking that leading to a federal ban (what is actually righteous). 6/8
Either way. Don't count KS out. There were many of us who voted "No" precisely because we ARE for the abolition of abortion. And that's not because we are "All or Nothing" people. It's because the VtB Amendment was corrupt and WOULD enshrine abortion as a right. 7/8
To Kansas hurting today thinking that hope is lost. Talk to your legislators and tell them to do exactly what they would have if the amendment passed. Abortion must be abolished. 8/8
I was excited to “share” my first “message” with the students. At 20 years old, I found myself leading a ministry, feeling ready to take on the world. I was going to figure out what generations before had not.
I was going to bring a “fresh” understanding of the text when I taught and engage the hearts and minds of the youth with clever understanding that gripped them deep in their inner being. 2/8
I finished my “message” which centered around some odd (heretical) illustration about God revealing our “true” selves as we “look in a mirror dimly”, scribbling words like “lust”, “low self-image”, and “popularity” on a big white piece of paper with a Sharpie... 3/8
