Make a guess... Who are the unsung heroes of #Web3?
Not your micro-cap gaming tokens or๐ฉcoins for sure.
We'd like to think that Relayer Networks are the invisible MVPs of Web3 ๐ช๐ผ
What are Relayer Networks exactly?
Let's dig in!
A ๐งต๐๐ผ
2/9
A Relayer takes individual orders and organizes them into an order book.
It's similar to what exchange does.
Except, a Relayer is NOT an exchange.
A Relayer helps users create, sign, or find orders to fill without holding any tokens.
Yes๐ฏ, just WOW.

2 key definitions๐๐ผ
A 'Relayer Network' is a way to send meta-transactions to an EVM-compatible chain using a third party's infrastructure.
A 'Meta Transaction' has data created and signed off-chain by one person and executed by another person who pays the gas fees.
4/9
In other words, โRelayer Networksโ allow users to transact on-chain while having a third partyโs account pay for their gas fees.
Why does this matter?
Remember how the goal of Web3 is to decentralize all on-chain interactions including buying, selling, gaming etc?
5/9
Let's be brutally honest: Current interactions on Web3 are clunky.
It takes developer thinking and cryptography chops to navigate complex transactions.
A classic pain point: Users now need multiple steps to confirm or approve a transaction.
6/9
Let's list the turn-offs:
๐ซ Paying gas fees for each transaction
๐ซ Gas fees needing to be paid in native tokens
๐ซ You might need to buy said tokens ๐๐ผ
๐ซ Difficult onboarding โ need to pass KYC, download a wallet etc
What were we doing again?
7/9
With 'Relayer Networks', users can:
โ Enjoy smoother onboarding
โ Pay gas fees with a variety of tokens
โ Transact without deep Web3 knowledge
โ Get transactions confirmed faster and more securely

As you know, Biconomy helps dApps build towards decentralization.
1๏ธโฃWe receive transaction info and signature from users
2๏ธโฃWe pass it on to target chains by signing the transactions
3๏ธโฃWe pay for gas to execute transactions
Weโre a Relayer Network with a Gas Tank option.
9/9
Balances are topped off, with fees to be paid directly by the platform.
Users never have to manage the transactions.
See how Biconomy Co-founder and CTO @schin_tomar explains 'meta-transactions'! ๐
This weekโs glossary covers EIP-4337, a proposal meant to handle a top preoccupation of the #Ethereum community: ๐๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.
Weโll go over why the proposal was necessary and what solution it offers.๐งต๐
2/
First, a quick note: #accountabstraction allows a contract to become the top-level account that handles fees and starts the execution of the transaction.
3/
Ethereum developers have been preoccupied with account abstraction for a while.
The goal is to use #EVM code not just for implementing the logic of applications but also for the verification logic of individual wallets โ nonces, signatures, etc.
