The Palestinian Ministry of Health says the number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli aggression on Gaza has climbed to 24, while 203 Palestinians have been wounded.
Two Palestinian brothers, 11-year-old Ahmed Al-Nairab and 5-year-old Momen Al-Nairab were amongst those killed in an Israeli airstrike on Northern Gaza this evening.
Israeli forces killed 11 Palestinians last night including 5-year-old Alaa Abdullah Riyad Qaddoum in an airstrike in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood of Gaza City. Alaa's father and six-year-old brother were injured in the same attack.
In the past two weeks, Israel has tightened the blockade on Gaza and prevented entry of goods, fuel and medicine. The Gaza power generation company is suffering acute shortage in fuel and Gaza has only had 4 hours of electricity per day.

Workers in Britain have experienced the longest period of wage stagnation since the 1800s and now face further real-terms pay cuts amid the worst squeeze on living standards since the 1950s. Two-thirds of adults in poverty are now in a working household. We say #EnoughIsEnough
Tens of thousands have already signed up to support the campaign. Rallies will be taking place up and down the country. Do sign up if you haven't done so already!
Britain isn't simply a passive bystander; it's been actively complicit in the oppression of the Palestinian people. Six months before the 2014 assault on Gaza where over 2000 Palestinians were killed, Britain approved £7 million worth of arms sales to Israel.
In 2018, the IDF used live ammunition on peaceful protestors on the Gaza border, killing 189 Palestinians including 32 children. Britain shamefully abstained from a UN vote which condemned Israel for excessive, disproportionate and indiscriminate force against the demonstrators.
Just last year, Boris Johnson declared his opposition to an International Criminal Court investigation of Israeli actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, standing in the way of justice and enabling Israel to continue to act with impunity.
NEW: Over 1600 London bus drivers to strike on 19th and 20th August in pay dispute. @unitetheunion say the 3.4% offer represents a real-terms pay cut given RPI inflation stands at 11.8%. The strike on Friday 19th will coincide with tube and overground strike.
Statement from @UniteSharon: “The parent company RATP is fabulously wealthy and it can fully afford to pay our members a decent wage increase. Unite’s members play a crucial role in keeping London moving and they are not going to accept seeing their pay constantly eroded.”
“Unite does what it says on the trade union tin and always defends the jobs, pay and conditions of its members. Our members at London United will receive the union’s complete support until this dispute is resolved and a fair pay offer secured.”
🚨Amazon wildcat strikes are spreading across the UK with strike action taking place in Tilbury, Coventry, Bristol and Rugeley. Amazon workers at Tilbury fulfilment centre in Essex initially walked out over a 'pathetic' 35p-per-hour pay rise.
Amazon workers in Coventry have walked out for a second day in a row in protest over the inadequate pay offer.
Christian Smalls, president of @amazonlabor in the US, has offered his solidarity to striking Amazon workers in the UK.
BREAKING: Forde Report accuses party of "operating a hierarchy of racism or discrimination" with many forms of racism and discrimination being ignored. The report has uncovered a wealth of evidence demonstrating the widespread existence of racism within the Labour Party.
"Its aims and values state that it wants to create a community: “where we live together freely, in a spirit of solidarity, tolerance and respect”. From the evidence we received, it is clear that, across the Party, these aims and values are not being fully respected and lived out"
"We note that MPs of colour and female MPs were not always treated during the relevant period in the same way as their white/ male counterparts – not just in terms of the abuse they received, but in terms of the level of instinctive respect they were afforded within the Party...
Grateful to @HannahB4LiviMP for the mention in Parliament today. Just 7% of Brits are privately educated yet 43% of the 100 most influential news editors, 44% of newspaper columnists, 74% of senior judges, 59% of permanent secretaries in the civil service are privately educated.
According to a study in the British Journal of Sociology of Education, private schools are estimated to benefit from tax exemptions to the tune of £3 billion a year. That's the equivalent of more than 6% of England’s total state school budget (2020-21).
Private schools maintain their 'charitable' status and remain exempt from VAT and business rates. Those who defend private schools point to bursaries however school census data shows that most of the pupils on bursaries do not come from poor households.
