The tradition of Kashmir Shaivism was transmitted from master to disciple centuries in a row, according to the method named "from mouth to ear". "The symbol of Shiva’s cosmic dance unifies mythology, religious art, and modern physics.
#Spirituality #Hinduism Image
Kashmir Shaivism has many artists manifesting their talents with Trika School sages & masters , who too had powerful artistic senses. Sage Abhinavagupta wrote several poems on Shiva's glory; like other Shaivite sages, most of his work was in verse.
#Spirituality #Hinduism Image
From Abhinavagupta’s point of view, art is an exterior as well as internal manifestation, is deeply spiritual. He indicates that art's role is to awaken an inexpressible taste, a sublime feeling, totally & surely different from common human perceptions.
#Spirituality #Hinduism Image
It has a general character, and it is a cosmic perception. On the basis of this intense emotion (anger, joy, fear, amazement, etc.), experienced in a fully aware manner, art determines the passage from individual (ego) to universal.
#Spirituality #Hinduism Image
Kashmir Shaivism appeared in the 9th century in the northern India, which was at the time a small feudal kingdom. The maharajahs were the patrons of the various religions.
#Spirituality #Hinduism Image
In Kashmir, Shaivite philosophy was kept simple. It did not prescribe any "tortures" for body nor brain through painful mortification; not also exterior practices of self-imposed control of mind, senses & breath, as in other schools of Hindu philosophy.
#Spirituality #Hinduism Image
On the other hand, the Kashmir Shaivism recommends a few precise methods of spontaneous meditation, free from any kind of repression and constraint of the mind or of the emotions.

How can I see auras?

You may not SEE auras - because, in reality, no one sees auras/subtle energies; they perceive them, but they don’t use their eyes. Seeing them is a result of a synaesthetic illusion...
#Kundalini #Chakra Image
- some people perceive things visually, while others may perceive them in a tactile sense, as a scent, or a sound, etc; but don’t worry, regardless of how your brain handles the input, you can get the same information from it once you learn to interpret it.
#Kundalini #Chakra Image
Manipulating energy will include perceiving it; it’s your first step. You may need considerable patience at first, but a few months of daily practice should at least have you able to detect peoples’ auric boundaries and the general strength of their aura.

According to the tradition of the Kashmir Shaivism, Shiva established 64 systems, of philosophies, some of them monist, others dualist and few of them monist-dualist.
#Spirituality #Tantra Image
As some of these systems were lost, Shiva asked the Sage Durvaasa to reinvigorate the knowledge. The sons of Durvaasa, born through the force of the mind were thus designed to transmit the systems as follows:
#Spirituality #Tantra Image
Tryambaks - the monist, Amardaka - the dualist and Shrikantha - the monist-dualist. Thus, at a certain point, it is said that Tryambaks laid the foundations of the Kashmir Shaivism philosophy and practice.

How does one recieve spiritual enlightenment?

The key to enlightenment is attention.

If you want to abandon illusion, know reality and attend to it instead.
#enlightenment #Spirituality Image
If you’re interested in enlightenment, start with a good definition.

To discern & abide in ever-present Reality is true attainment. All other attainments are like powers enjoyed in a dream.

Sri Ramana Maharshi, Reality in Forty Verses, Verse 35.
#enlightenment #Spirituality Image
Enlightenment is about knowing who we are; doesn’t confer special powers or make us “perfect.”

Its the only true accomplishment; all others are like getting something in a dream.

You sleep & dream of a mansion. You strive & eventually, you get it.

The Third Eye Chakra is usually represented as being linked with knowledge and perceptions? However, in Hindu mythology, Shiva’s third eye is specifically seen as a destructive force: how are these two perspectives reconciled?
#Kundalini #yoga Image
In the myths Shiva always uses his third eye to destroy demons.

The third eye is the eye of wisdom and insight (jñānacakṣu). The demons represent specific aspects of ignorance (ajñāna) which we need to grapple with.
#Kundalini #yoga Image
His most famous act of destruction is of Kāma-deva the God-of-Desire who had been sent to arouse him - with his 3rd eye he destroyed Kāma-deva. Later, Kāma-deva is resurrected as Ananga - the limbless one which indicates the subtle nature of desire and craving.

What is a spiritual practice or advice which is applicable to seekers on all levels, something which will be useful till the time one gets enlightened?
#Spiritual #meditation Image
To my mind, there is a spiritual practice or advice which is applicable to seekers on all levels and that's Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi's teaching of Self Enquiry.
#Spiritual #meditation Image
All levels belong to the mind only. Mind is only a bundle of thoughts (irrespective of its various levels) and the root thought is the “I" thought.

What is the effect if there is no planet in the 9th house of astrology?
#astrology #VedicAstrology Image
The ninth house is the house of fortune, father, prestige, morality, wisdom, grandchildren, long journeys, law, higher knowledge.

The ninth house is the house of dharma (dharma-bhava), characterizing our core values, principles and ideals.
#astrology #VedicAstrology Image
This is the father's house, reflecting his fate and character.

In addition, he points to authority figures who guide and inspire us.
