We are in a full conservative / hyper capitalist/ clout cultural backswing and most of us have NOT noticed, because we have bent our lives and perspectives to be successful at all costs…

Many scoff when I remark on my feelings of being undesirable and fascism working it’s way into the body, but the libidinal economy is a REAL force that acts against especially full bodied darker, queerer femmes especially, and more than most, those with equally robust opinions

I am extremely popular and attractive when there is a radical, progressive air about us, and then I can feel many relationships contract when the backswing hits… I feel a miner’s canary effect working in my social world:

… when people are very activated and saying they want change and proclaiming #metoo and #BlackLivesMatter my life and social resource is full and so many want the social capital of being associated with a firmly truth and justice seeking presence like mine.

But then the pendulum swings and the prevailing power regime re-establishes itself. The Kardashians are white again, and so are most of y’all’s interests. We’re rightfully nervous about the government taking care of us and much more individualistic…

We have learned so many excuses for how to get back to the familiar (oppressive) comfort of neoliberal hyper capitalism and anti justice mindset. We’re now living in a world where anti-racism is vilified as taking it TOO FAR.

We have aligned personal interests to defang the anti carceral movements such that they apply “restorative justice” to those who were considered more structurally innocent before and, also, to powerful rapists with whom we believe we stand to reap clout/ fun/financial gain.

White women (especially felt in lesbian/queer community) are EXTRA taking up space this year and y’all are eating it up, fatphobia is at all time highs, anti-feminism is full on (because many of you totally forgot that this exists out of white girlboss contexts for MOST of us)

… rapists and sexual assailants and pedophiles are just like hanging out, collaborating with potentially vulnerable communities, throwing parties, very much OUT HERE…
