The failure of UK news channels to give people the objective truth, regardless of what politicians are saying, is why the UK is in such a mess.

Reality is NOT fifty-fifty!

#FPolitics: Emily Maitlis
I had to cut it down for Twitter.
The full version is here:
I didn't mention this, to avoid sounding self-important, but:

@bbcquestiontime held an under-30s episode to get the views of young people on Brexit, invited Nigel Farage for his 6th Brexit appearance, but NOT the spokesperson for the largest youth movement on Brexit in the UK.🤔
And even when Channel 4 tried to do it right, with a majority anti-Brexit audience to reflect the views of 18-20yr-olds...

They still invited a bunch of Lexiters who they let dominate the airtime and spew false Lexit propaganda.

The first 5 opinions they showed were pro-Brexit.

Any Brexiteer who's claiming to care about the cost of living right now, after spending 6 years saying that "sovereignty" was worth a little hardship, needs to shut the **** up.
That means Julia Hartley-Brewer can STFU about the cost of living crisis, given that she explicitly said she was happy for Brexit to make people poorer.

"If there is a cost to that, then so be it!"
@JuliaHB1
That means Nigel Farage can STFU about the cost of living given that he said there was no price he wouldn't be willing to make people pay for his Brexit.

The illegality of UK immigration is BECAUSE of the Tories.

The Rwanda policy breaks international law and encourages asylum seekers to go into hiding.

Does the UK take in its fair share of refugees?
Nope.

In Sep 2018 80+% Labour members wanted a 2nd referendum & demanded it at conference.

The leadership diluted the policy so much that in Apr 2019 they were still opposing it, so people didn't trust Labour on Brexit at the election.

NOW 80+% of Labour members want Voting Reform.😬
Don't believe me?

Here's the proof!
September 2018.

Labour's best chance of winning is an electoral pact based on voting reform, and they expelled me for saying so.

I hope the winners of the NEC elections will be less tribal...So that the mere mention of the fact that a pact might help the other parties isn't treated as betrayal. ImageImage
Really?
You're asking ME that question?

I received my membership card in Jan 2020. My offending tweet was in 7 February.

So why did Labour decide to cancel my membership at 01.51am 24 March, 8 hours after the 1st lockdown was announced?

Congrats!

You just demonstrated what's wrong with UK politics.

Your party gaining power is "all you're interested in". Never mind the "issues" (which affect millions of people).

Thanks for keeping politics confrontational and elitist.

This week's episode is about why you should have HOPE despite the really depressing news cycle:

UK Politics has reversed since 2016.
WE are the ones offering to improve people's lives now!

Can we talk about how INSANE this is?

The Tories took us out of the EU, so we now have to do (by ourselves) all the things we used to do together as 28 countries sharing the load (e.g. trade negotiations, GPS systems etc).

And now they're saying we need a SMALLER civil service!
The idea that you can leave a shared administration of 28 countries, so that you can do everything by yourself, but expect to save money and resources is just madness.

Bus vs Taxi

I explained this a long time ago:
#BrexitReality
And yet here's Jacob Rees-Mogg complaining that the Civil Service has gotten bigger since we "took back control".

It's almost as if more "control" needs more hands!
