According to Ben, GOP can't talk Trump, Fed overreach, Dobbs and inflation.

In the view of @RyanGirdusky, @benshapiro and the gang at @NRSC @NRCC, if you are thrown into a boxing ring, your opponent won't land blows if you refuse to fight.

Dems are anyway using Trump. He doesn't become immaterial just because you refuse to use him to energize YOUR side!

More: Poll sampling and questions can skew results by a few points. Some of the hacks who say the GOP needs to run from Trump, predicted days before the 2020 that the @HouseGOP will lose 6-12 seats. They won a dozen seats!

The difference is that most who are in favor of it won't vote because of it because being happy is not such a motivator to vote than being angry about something!

Please show me 3-5 issues that ...

- GOPs runs on unabashedly.

- DC GOP voted accordingly the last 7 years.

- Dems are on the defensive about it.

Show me those issues in motion! Not what you THINK the GOP should do.

What's going on here is what I have been saying for years:

Idiots are Republicans; Losers are Conservatives -- certainly those in DC and punditry.

Even IF the #BidenRaidOnTrump affidavit were only for/on national securtiy documents the process is abusive. But ARCHIVE laws and on non/defense documents was a BIG part of the ask, yet @benshapiro @EWErickson @NRCC @NRSC think that the GOP should just IGNORE this.

GET THIS:

There were 26 POTUS elections starting with the 1920 elections through 2020.

GOP won 6 of the first 13.

GOP won 7 of the last 13.

That 7th win (which led the GOP to even the 100 year count with Dems) didn't come from Dole, McCain or Romney.

T'was Trump.

As seen above, the idea that the GOP did amazing with POTUS elections until Trump messed it up, is garbage.

As for the House/Senate, the GOP lagged behind Dems for decades, but had better years since Reagan, Newt, Tea Party and Trump.

Yet the machine hated/hares those guys.

In NY19's, Dem Pat Ryan hammered Trump and abortion, yet the GOP'er avoided it as much possible -- as if this makes the issue go away 🤡

He lost by a bigger margin than Trump in 2020 🤡 🤡

Besides, Dems had heated primaries that day so it may have driven their turnout 🤡 🤡🤡

At any rate, if your election strategy is to avoid Red Meat issues that energize your base with the hopes to win a few points of independents, it means you will be governing Dem Lite (IF you will win while your base stays home).

Shapiro RTed a claim that Trump-type doc violations were prosecuted in the past.

So... Ben's thinking is that Trump did something VERY BAD so it is bad for the GOP to talke about it.

Arguing against the Biden DOJ abuses here (as WSJ editorials did) is not an option for Ben.

Monday: Ben Shapiro has a thread that the GOP must run from Trump in 2022 (which is impossible since Biden, Dems and Media anyway raise him as an issue so use it too).
