As you might imagine, some enrolled in my class after seeing #TheGreatHack but one said it was because it’s one of the classes stickered on the windows at @TheNewSchool University Center! Gotta love that.
ProTip: Switching the semester you teach a class can shift representation in a place like @TheNewSchool that fosters cross-disciplinary and cross-school enrollments. Moving from spring to fall increased this diversity by a fluke; it became more open to other programs’ electives.

Update: Bekah Mercer is now suing Alexander Nix for doing her the ‘favour’ of running Campaign Analytica/SCL into bankruptcy/insolvency as to enjoy the moratorium on data protection act violations which the UK ICO described and affected all registered voters (not just 87 million)
Weird “Payback suit” acting as Dynamo Recoveries after Bekah Mercer already achieved absorbing Cambridge Analytica/SCL into Emerdata Limited and Nigel Oakes got defence gigs/assets as SCL Analytics Ltd
Did Bannon ever cooperate with probes into CA/SCL? We know FTC tried to serve him. But no press follow-up on that. Now a jury is forming on his Jan6 obstruction indictment after shady pardons and whatnot. That Leninist-Duginist who came up with the name Cambridge Analytica.
Adtech is at its core an immoral and dangerous business practice that reveals its injuries to the innocent during ground war in Europe and the rollback of civil rights in America.
data privacy is a fundamental human right and stealing it save money on your ad spend is costing society somewhere else
Replace RuTarget with any domestic data broker or DMP and replace Ukraine with a vigilante state that offers abortion bounties and you’ve got Alito’s America
Congress discovering the marketplace of advertising identifiers that are used to re-identify us up the adtech and data broker supply chain. These IDs provide cover for data collection practices and help gaslight consumers about anonymization. #DataRightswsj.com/articles/lawma…
Dobbs will put focus on data brokers and the trafficking of targets for vigilante laws
UX design is about to become regulated and I doubt industry is prepared. Consider how revocable consent mandates a particular kind of switch type/design pattern if #ADPPA bill passes with this language which expressly prohibits dark patterns in consent UX/UI
Visualize a data broker registry website where you can issue “Do Not Collect” requests. #DataRights#ADPPA
this feeling of profound despair derives from the extreme minority rule engineered by the slave owners who designed this place
the minority worships guns because they are consumed with the prospect of having to kill the majority if it ever manages to exert any meaningful power
i was watching hannah arendt’s last interview this week via @openculture and her remarks on what makes the usa exceptional relate to minority rule so it’s informing my thoughts on question why our exceptionalism leads to a society animated by gun violence
