#bkdk #drama #angst (Happy end as always)

Izuku felt like the luckiest man alive being married to his husband Bakugo Katsuki. Their love story wasn’t easy but after they got over a few road bumps in high school, everything was magical! And they had been together ever since.
His marriage was a constant in his life and one of the brightest spots. He loved Katsuki so much and he loved watching him succeed. Everything was perfect! In their 5th year of marriage, Kacchan was offered a promotion at work that would cause them to move. Izuku didn’t mind it.
As long as they were together, he was happy. He worked a small part time job at a comic book shop anyway. As much as he loved his job, Kacchan said he didn’t have to work with his new salary. Izuku never imagined himself being a stay at home husband but he would at least try it.
At their going away party however, Izuku’s best friend Ochaco said something that gnawed at him.

“I’m a little worried about you moving to that big city by yourself.” She giggled.

“I’m not by myself. Kacchan’s with me!” Izuku had beamed.

“Yeah but…”

“But?”
“Nevermind. I shouldn’t.” She shook her head.

“You already said something, you might as well finish that thought.” Izuku sulked.

“Okay so like, you guys have been together forever and that’s GREAT. There’s nothing wrong with that. But don’t you feel you’re kinda…” She shifted.
“Kinda what?” Izuku was getting impatient. Ochaco could be so cryptic.

“Living in his shadow! Letting him shine! Not doing your own thing! You sacrifice so much for him! And I don’t see him doing the same for you!” She blurted out.

“Kacchan worked really hard for both of us!”
Izuku said defensively. “He wasn’t gonna take the promotion if I said no!”

“Deku-kun.” She looked at him in a way he really didn’t like. “Do you really think he expected you to say no?”

Izuku couldn’t deny that Kacchan maybe predicted he would say yes.
“What’s your point?” He sulked.

“I don’t know…you LOVED the comic shop. It was the one part of you where you could still be you ya know? I just can’t see you being happy sitting alone in a big house all day waiting for him to come home. No friends. No family. Just him.”
Izuku did think about that, but he was sure he would make friends. And he could have more time for his hobbies if he didn’t have to work. Maybe he could work more on the podcast he abandoned months ago. And he could get a dog or something!

“I’m happy with him, Uraraka.”
“Right.” She sighed in disappointment. “Just..think about maybe getting your own job, okay?”

Izuku shrugged off their conversation but as the days leading up the move arrived, he began to get more and more anxious. He cried his last day at the comic book shop.
It was filled with a lot of happy memories. He arrived home and looked at their empty apartment and sulked. Kacchan wouldn’t be home for another three hours. He did make him happy but waiting around him to do that? It was miserable to think about.
Izuku opened his laptop and began to look at job listings. He spent all day just throwing his resume around but he knew it wasn’t very impressive so it’s not like he was going to land anything particularly fulfilling. Not like Kacchan’s career as a fashion editor.
One particular job description, however, caught his eye.

‘Comic Historian’

It was for a local publishing company in Tokyo. They had many book authors with an interest in superhero based novels since Heroes were now the new big thing.
The job was simple, read the drafts and make corrections based on accuracy of the comics and films they were referencing. Izuku was a HUGE comic book nerd. He could do that! The salary was larger than anything he had ever made too! Nothing like Kacchan’s but still!
Izuku excitedly typed up a cover letter, he attached links to his comic podcast, YouTube videos of him at fan conventions correcting the author of the All Might comics himself, and fluffed up his resume so it seemed more polished than it actually was.
He technically DID assist a fashion editor. By making him breakfast every morning, and making sure he never went to bed grumpy and giving him loving kisses before he left the door but STILL. That was a BIG HELP according to Kacchan. He stared at the screen nervously.
Izuku got way too excited about this opportunity. He gulped before clicking send. He stared at his computer and a weird sense of fulfillment overcame him. He did something for himself.

“Yo.”

“AAAAAAH!” Izuku shreiked at his husband’s sudden presence behind him. “Kacchan!”
Katsuki cackled at his husband’s jumpiness. “What’s got you freaked out, huh? Lookin’ at porn?”

“N-no!” Izuku’s entire face went red. “You just scared me! You weren’t supposed to be home for another hour!”

“Well I left early.” Katsuki shrugged.

“Why?”
Katsuki wrapped his arms around him and kissed his forehead.

“It was your last day, right? Figured you’d be cryin’ by yourself or some shit. Didn’t want that.” He kissed his head again. “So I came home.”

“Kacchan.” Izuku’s eyes watered before he buried himself in his chest.
He really was the best husband on earth.

“I don’t deserve you.” Izuku sniffled.

“Don’t start with that crap.” Katsuki whispered. “No one deserves me. But I’ll give myself to you and only you anyway I can.”

Izuku giggled at his pride. He loved him so much.
“So what were you doin’ on the computer huh? Ya seemed pretty focused. Didn’t even notice me come in.” Katsuki questioned.

“Oh um… I was applying for a job in Tokyo!” Izuku informed him.

“Why?” Katsuki looked annoyed by that fact and it worried Izuku.

“Why not?”
Katsuki sighed before guiding Izuku to their bed and sitting him on his lap.

“Cause ya don’t need to work, Izuku. I worked my ass off so you never have to lift a finger again. We can even get a maid if you don’t wanna clean.” He whispered to him before kissing his neck.
Izuku understood where this came from. Katsuki didn’t know anything else. His mom was the same way with his Dad and whether Katsuki wanted to admit it, he felt the need to emulate her success. And husbands who don’t need to work? That was success.
“Well maybe I want to.” Izuku blinked before straddling him. “I just don’t know if I could stay all day in a big house doing nothing.”

“You don’t have to do nothing.” Katsuki shrugged. “You can have your own comic room or whatever. Focus on drawing your own comic book.”
Izuku looked into his eyes and and smiled. Kacchan still remembered his dreams from when they were little. He really was so thoughtful. He kissed him and they melted into each other.

“It was just a few applications.” Izuku giggled. “I don’t think anyone will call me.”
“Tell me if they do.” Katsuki growled. “I’ll tell ‘em to fuck off myself.”

“Kacchan.” Izuku playfully hit his chest. “Is it really so bad if I work? I might really like it. And if I don’t, I can always just quit.”

“Why can’t your job just be this?”
Katsuki kissed him over and over before slowly taking off his clothes. Izuku giggled as he let him take over him, all of him. He really did love him. It’s not like he would hear back.

“Dabi-kun?” Himiko Toga, Todoroki Touya’s secretary walked into his office.
“What did I tell you about calling me that at work?” The reformed gang member and now head of the Todoroki publishing department rolled his eyes.

“Sorry, Todo-Ro-Ki-San.” Toga teased slowly.

“What do you want?”

“I came here to show you this application! It’s so funny!”
Toga plopped her laptop on Touya’s desk and pulled up the application for Midoriya Izuku. The cover letter was one long ramble. It gave him a headache.

“Did he attach a YouTube video?” Touya snorted.

“New, right?” Toga clicked the link and Touya leaned forward, very interested
“He’s cute, don’t you think?” Toga whispered.

Touya watched his proud look as he corrected the author as his green eyes glinted through the screen.

“Toga.”

“Yeah?”

“Throw out all other applications for the position.” He smirked. “I think we have a winner.”
“Very professional Dabi-kun.” Toga giggled.

“What can I say? I’m a man who knows what he wants.” He shrugged.

“He’s married though. You sure you want me to call him?” Toga pointed out.

“My Dad was married to my mom, did that stop him from fucking Keigo?”

“Fair point.”
Toga typed away on her phone sending an email to set up an interview with Izuku.

“Done.” She smiled.

“One thing I’m curious about though.” Touya smirked. “Who’s he married to?”

“Bakugo Katsuki. DynaMight Fashion Editor.”

Touya laughed. What a twist of fate. “Perfect.”

Izuku shifted nervously at the Todoroki publishing branch in Tokyo. He couldn’t believe he got this job. He did the interview despite Katsuki’s protests because he felt he wanted to at least say he tried to make something of himself. He never expected to actually get it.
Katsuki and him had a long argument that night. The first real, heavy one they’d had in their 5 years of marriage. Katsuki wasn’t angry. He was calm but firm. And he wasn’t backing down which made Izuku emotional.

“I just don’t see what’s wrong with it? Why can’t I work?”
“Because I know you. You’re not working cause you really wanna get ahead. Someone’s got into your head! So tell me where this is really coming from!” Katsuki pushed.

“No one’s got into my head! I just don’t wanna live in your shadow!”

Katsuki laughed at that. “Was it Uraraka?”
“Stop that!” Izuku snapped.

“Stop what, Izuku?” Katsuki rolled his eyes. “I know you better than you know yourself! Living in my shadow? That bullshits not coming from you! You’ve never once believed that!”

“So then what am I doing Kacchan?!”
“What you’ve always done! What I’ve worked so hard so you can do! Whatever makes you happy!” Katsuki stood up and walked away before taking a deep breath as he heard himself echo in their new home. He turned to face his husband who began to sniffle.
“Is that what will make you happy? This job?” He whispered.

“I don’t know.” Izuku whimpered. “But I’d like to at least try.”

Katsuki slowly approached him and wrapped his arms around him before kissing him over and over. “Fine.”

“H-huh?” Izuku looked up at him.
“If it’ll make you happy to try to work in a big boring office in the city reading shitty books and making them less shitty then go ahead.”

“Kacchan.” Izuku smiled. “Thank you.”

“But can ya do me a favor?” Katsuki caressed his freckles.

“Anything.”
“If it stresses you out in the slightest, you quit, okay?” Katsuki grumbled.

“It’ll take a lot to stress me out.” Izuku giggled.

“Deku. You stress out if your All Might figures are in the wrong position.”

“That’s different!” Izuku puffed his cheeks.
Katsuki grabbed them with his hand and forcefully smashed their lips together. “I fuckin love you, you know that?”

“Mmhmm. I really am blessed.” Izuku blushed. Katsuki pouted in response and Izuku caught himself. “Of course I love you too! More than anything!”

“Good.”
“So shall we toast then?” Katsuki carried him to the kitchen and pulled out a champagne bottle two glasses.

“To?”

“To new jobs.”

“Y-yeah! To new jobs!”

Izuku may have had too much champagne because now he had a headache at 7 in the morning on his very first day!
The office was cold. He was glad he was at least wearing a suit.

“You’re here early!” Himiko Toga, the secretary who interviewed him smiled wide as he entered the main lobby.

“N-not too early I hope.” Izuku laughed sheepishly.
“Not at all. Why are you wearing that?” She blinked at his professional attire.

“Um.” Izuku blushed. “I-is that not what we’re supposed to wear? I read that the typical attire at a publishing house is business ready because you never know who’s gonna walk in at any given moment”
“Da-Todoroki-San let’s us wear whatever we want.” Toga shrugged. “So I guess if that’s what you wanna wear, it’s fine.”

“Oh um…do I get to meet him today?” Izuku questioned. Todoroki Touya was his boss who he would directly be answering to.
Despite this, Izuku only ever had one interview with Toga over video chat. And it wasn’t even about his skills, knowledge or the job. She said she hired him for one reason. Because she felt like it. Izuku didn’t know what to make of that. But he wasn’t going to turn it down.
“Yeah silly. You share his office!” She beamed.

“H-huh?!”

“Don’t look so surprised.” A voice startled Izuku who turned around and met the most striking blue eyes. He had no idea who this guy was. He had spiky white hair, piercings and tattoos all over.
He was wearing a plain white T-shirt, ripped jeans and a loose button up.

“This him?” The guy asked Toga.

“Yup! Izuku-kun, this is Todoroki Touya! Our boss.” She introduced.

“O-oh my goodness!” Izuku bowed profusely. “It’s so nice to meet you! I’m Midoriya Izuku!”
Touya stared silently at him for a long moment. His eyes trailing up and down him in a way that made Izuku feel like he was being picked apart.

"Is there something wro-" He questioned before Touya grabbed his face with his hand and leaned too close to it for comfort.
"Keep eye contact with me." He ordered and Izuku obeyed despite being slightly terrified. Touya then smirked after what had to be the most intimidating 30 seconds of Izuku's life. "Cool. You'll do."

He walked to the large double doors in the back of the office and turned to him
"Well? You coming or what?"

"Y-yes sir!" Izuku quickly followed.

His first day did not go as expected. Touya explained to him his job was pretty straight forward but authors were lazy so he wouldn't have drafts to correct till the last minute.
“In the meantime, you could study up on whatever references they plan on using or just kick back and read any useless comic you find or play on your phone, I don’t care.”

Izuku was awed by Touya. He really was nothing like he expected in a boss. He was crass, straight forward,
And he smoked in the office. Izuku had to make a mental note to shower when he got home. Kacchan hated the smell of cigarettes.

Izuku noticed there was plenty of office space so he wondered why he had to share Touya’s but he was too scared to question it.
After lunch, Touya had an important meeting and Izuku was left in the office by himself. He decided to text Kacchan and see how he was doing but he didn’t hear anything back. That was normal though. Katsuki had an extremely busy schedule.
The doors suddenly slammed open startling Izuku, causing him to drop his phone.

“Miss me?!” Touya grinned.

“Ah! You kinda scared me.” Izuku laughed nervously.

“Kid, you’ve been scared all day.” Touya leapt on his desk and stretched. “Let’s play a game.”

“A game?”
“I wanna know what pisses you off. So I’m just gonna throw shots on the dark until you tell me to fuck off!” Touya beamed like it was the brightest idea ever.

“That doesn’t sound like a lot of fun.” Izuku grumbled.

“Look, if you’re gonna work here, we gotta get along.”
“So why do you wanna make me mad?” Izuku blinked.

“Because, people bond far more over the things they hate than the things they love.” Touya declared. “So you like All Might or whatever right? Boring. Everyone likes him.” He puffed a cloud of smoke in his face.
Izuku coughed and tried his best to dissipate the smoke.

“What if I said Endeavor’s the better hero?”

“Well you’d be wrong but it’s okay.” Izuku smiled. “You’re entitled to your opinion.”

“Aren’t you cute? Hmm…I think your suit is tacky.”

“It probably is.”
Touya cracked his knuckles trying to think what would tick Izuku’s buttons.

“Your resume was kinda pathetic. But it gave us a laugh so we hired you.”

Instead of getting angry, that made him pout in sadness.

“Come on. Come on.” Touya shook him. “Tell me to stop!”
“Um, stop please?” Izuku blinked but he was more confused than anything.

Touya then looked at his phone which lit up and grinned.

“Who’s Kacchan? A girlfriend?”

“No! That’s my husband!” Izuku reader for his phone but his boss dangled it above his head too high for him to reach
“What’s it say? Am I gonna find something embarrassing? A nude photo maybe?” Touya teased.

“Todoroki-San! Please! Give it back!” Izuku leapt to try and grab it but he was too short.

“I have to wonder, why don’t you have his last name?”

“We decided to keep our own last names!”
“Why?” Touya questioned as the phone vibrated in his hand.

“Because his is important for business and mine helps me feel connected to Mom! Please give it back!” Izuku whined.

“Connected to Mom? What about Dad?”

“What about him?!” Izuku seethed.

“Ah…there we are.”
Touya laughed. “Do you hate your Dad?”

“No!” Izuku grabbed his arm but Touya pulled it back till he was pressed against his chest.

“You seem really angry now, Izuku.” Touya whispered. “What did Daddy do to you?”

“Stop it! It doesn’t matter!”
“I bet he abandoned you. You just scream Daddy issues.”

Izuku blushed furiously. “Who cares? I had mom and that’s what matters! Now give me my phone!”

“Do you call your ‘Kacchan’ Daddy in bed?”

Before Izuku could stop himself, he slapped him across the face. “FUCK OFF!”
Touya smiled wide as Izuku breathed heavily while staring at his shaking hand in shock.

“I’m s-”

“Don’t apologize.” Touya smiled. “I hate my Dad too. FUCK THAT BASTARD. And yours too!” He handed Izuku the phone. “Did it feel good?”

“Um…yeah, surprisingly.”
Izuku blushed. He’d never slapped and authority figure in his life before.

“Welcome to the team, kid.” Touya ruffled his hair. “I have a feeling you’re gonna fit right in.”

Izuku took a long shower when he got home. He couldn’t believe he actually made money from all that
He was so tired, he ended up falling asleep before he had a chance to cook dinner for himself and Katsuki. The new couch they bought for their living room was just too soft. Izuku woked up in his husband's arms.

"Mmm, Kacchan." He hummed as warm lips met his.
They were in their bed. Katsuki must have carried him upstairs. He melted into his husband's naked torso as he caressed him in his favorite spots. Izuku slowly opened his eyes and felt his soul leave his body as he met blue eyes, instead of red.

"AHH!" Izuku screamed awake.
He was back on the couch in the living room as he hyperventilated. It was just a nightmare. Thank God.

"Izuku? Shit, I didn't mean to scare you." Katsuki ran in from the front entrance. "What are you doin' out here? I told you I would be home late."
He rushed to his side and held him until he calmed down.

"I..didn't get you message. I fell asleep after work." Izuku informed him before looking up at his husband and kissing him over and over. It was just a dream, so why he did he feel so guilty?

"Hard day?"
Katsuki whispered gently in his ear as he rubbed his arm. He sounded a little too pleased by that idea.

"No." Izuku said stubbornly. "It was actually a lot of fun."

"That's good." Katsuki pulled him into his lap and turned on the TV.
"What about you? Was work fun?" Izuku mumbled as he rubbed himself on his husband's chest.

"Ha." Katsuki scoffed. "It's annoying but nothing I can't handle."

"You can handle anything." Izuku giggled.

"Hey." Katsuki said firmly making Izuku look into his eyes. "So can you."
"I really am happy for you, Deku." He whispered before kissing his lips gently.

"Kacchan." Izuku's heart swelled. "I'm glad." He melted into his arms and met his lips again. His favorite lips. He would never ever want anyone else to touch him or hold him or kiss him this way.
It was just a stupid dream.

About a month passed and Izuku's eyes were growing tired as he scanned a draft an author had sent him. There were enough inaccuracies in the first chapter alone that made him WISH he had his hangover headache.
"Take a break, kid." Touya yawned as he stretched. "You look like you're gonna burst."

"I AM gonna burst!" Izuku groaned. "They tried to say that Mt. Lady could grow up to 20 meters tall but everyone knows she can only grow up to 18!"
"Come on." Touya threw his large windows open. "Take a walk with me. It's beautiful out!"

"Touya, it's pouring!" Izuku scolded. They had long since crossed the boundaries of professionalism. No one in the office used last names.

"Exactly! Fucking gorgeous!"
From the month of getting to know his boss, Izuku put together that he was not the most sane person in the world. But he was fun and endlessly fascinating. He had so many new experiences just by sharing an office with him.
He never expected him to predict that year's sales using a ouija board. Or for the entire office to throw a bonfire using a rival publisher's best sellers as kindle material. Touya even brought a whole petting zoo INSIDE the office for a day.
Nothing was rational but it kept Izuku on his toes and he liked it. It made work a lot of fun. Except for this moment. He did not want to walk in the storm.

"I'll pass." He said sternly.

"Come on! Whaddya got against a little water, huh?"
"A lot, actually." Izuku admitted as he looked pensively at the rain. In his and Katsuki's first year of high school, Katsuki got into a terrible car accident during a storm. Worst of all, he was only driving the car because Izuku had run away from home and he tried to find him.
Touya's shit eating grin made Izuku regret admitting he had a problem with it.

"Touya, no!"

"Come on!"

Izuku jumped up and ran through the double doors into the main lobby.

"Oh no you don't! I'm faster!" Touya grabbed his waist making him shriek.

"STOP IT!" Izuku cried.
But it was too late, before he knew it, he was lugged out in the middle of the storm and plopped in the garden outside. He hated it. All the terrible memories flooded into him. There was so much blood. He began to sob.

"I hate you..."

"Why do you hate the rain so much, huh?"
"I don't hate the rain!" Izuku hit his chest. "I hate you! How dare you bring me out here! I said no for a reason you asshole!"

"Tell me that reason then!" Touya shouted as thunder boomed.

"Why do you care?! Do you even care at all?! Or is this a joke to you?!"
"You're not a joke to me kid! You make me feel alive!" Touya danced in the puddles. "You wanna know something?! I haven't been in the rain since I was thirteen years old! Because I fucking hate it! My mom was dragged away from my home against her will in the rain!"
"My bastard of a father didn't even get her an umbrella! So RAIN! FUCK YOU! AND ALL THE PAIN YOU BRING ME! AHHHHHH!" He screamed as thunder boomed and lightning flashed. "TRY IT! SCREAM WITH ME!"

Izuku stared up at the rain clouds and cursed them for trying to take Kacchan away
"HOW DARE YOU!" Izuku screamed. "GO THE FUCK AWAY! I NEVER WANT YOU TO CURSE THE ONES I LOVE AGAIN. GET OUT OF THE SKY! FUCK YOU! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" He cried and screamed along with Touya. And then...the rain stopped. The clouds cleared and Izuku was bewildered.
He couldn't help it. He felt absolutely elated. Izuku laughed and Touya did too. He laughed and laughed and laughed.

"Izuku?"

"Huh?" Izuku turned to a familiar car that pulled up. Katsuki's head peaked out of the passenger side of his company car.
“Kacchan!”

Touya watched as Izuku’s face lit up. He bolted to the car like a soaking wet puppy.

“What are you doing here?” Izuku asked excitedly.

“Came to steal you away for lunch. What are you doing all wet?” Katsuki blinked.

“My boss is crazy.” Izuku giggled.
“Clearly.” Katsuki stated before glaring at Touya. The two stared down each other from across the lawn.

“Do you wanna meet him?” Izuku asked, oblivious to the hostility between them.

“Later.” Katsuki smiled softly at him. “Come on, I got us a reservation somewhere nice.”
“Oh, okay!” Izuku’s eyes sparkled gratefully. He knew why Katsuki picked today. It was because of the storm.

“Wait.” Katsuki said before Izuku could open the door to get in.

“What?”

Katsuki then grabbed his face through the window and kissed him possessively.
Touya stared at those cocky red eyes from across the lawn that never left his as he ran his hands through Izuku’s hair while claiming what was rightfully his.

But there was a feeling that Touya couldn’t explain as he watched the brats make out. It actually hurt to see.
Izuku was slightly embarrassed by the PDA from his husband but Touya did all kinds of crazy things. Kissing his Kacchan after the storm was pretty tame in comparison. He parted ways and blushed before turning to say bye to his boss. Except Touya was nowhere to be seen.

After work, Touya was quiet as he played chess with his secretary.

“Dabi-kun.” Toga said steadily. “What’s on your mind?”

“I want him.” Touya said as he moved his knight piece to take Toga’s rook.

“Isn’t that why you hired him?”
Toga questioned before using her King to take out the knight.

“Yeah but…I don’t want to just sleep with him. I want to be with him.” Touya admitted before moving a small pawn forward.

“So?”
Toga questioned before flipping the entire board over, knocking all the pieces off and taking Touya’s queen.

“What are you waiting for?” She waived it in front of his face. “You’ve never played by the rules Dabi-kun. Why start now?”

Touya snatched the queen from her hand.
“What are you suggesting?” He playfully stuck the piece in one of her buns.

“Kidnapping is fun. Oh murder is extra fun! If you’re not okay with going back to your old life, there’s always bribery. Everyone has a skeleton!” Toga suggested.

“Fuck.” Touya sat down, annoyed.
“What? Don’t tell me you’ve truly gone soft.” Toga pouted.

“I want him fair and square. Isn’t that fucked?!” Touya laughed.

“So what should we do?” Toga blinked.

Touya flipped the board back over. “I just gotta step it up.”
He slowly and quietly put the rest of the pieces back on the board. Exactly where him and Toga had left the game before she flipped it. He gently put his pawn back in the center.

“The rest is up to him.”

Three months flew by and Izuku was happy in his new life. His job, his marriage, his home, everything was perfect. Okay, maybe his job was starting to get a little weird. Not like it was ever normal, but things became more and more off.

“Touya? Where’s my desk?”
Izuku walked in to their shared office and was surprised to see the space he normally spends his days gone.

“Oh, that?” Touya laughed. “You’ve been promoted.”

“I have?!” Izuku blinked. “T-to what? I like my position. I-I don’t really need-”

“Relax. Check it out!”
Touya layed across his desk which Izuku finally noticed was much larger than he remembered it.

“We now share this desk. It’s pretty cool right? Just got her in today.” He declared.

“B-but why? Won’t I get in your way?” Izuku questioned.
Touya rolled off the desk and dragged Izuku to the chair before pulling him on his lap.

“I quite like you in my way.” He teased in his ear.

“Quit it!” Izuku wiggled off of him as his whole face turned red. “It’s not funny! Where’s my chair?”
“I didn’t order you one.” Touya rolled his eyes.

“I can’t work from your lap, Touya!” Izuku scolded.

“Why not? It’s softer than the stool you used to sit on.” Touya snickered.

“It’s inappropriate!”

“Izuku, have I ever been appropriate?” Touya lit a cigarette.
“I’m married!”

“So? Can married people not have soft seats?” Touya tapped his lap and Izuku stormed out of the office. “Izuku, I was just joking! Come back! Your desk is in the closet!”

Izuku took a deep breath before stomping to the closet and slamming the door.
“What are you doing in there?” Touya knocked on the closet door.

“I’m working from in here today!” Izuku announced.

“Come on! Are you really that mad?” Touya laughed.

“You need to learn that there’s some lines you shouldn’t cross. I’m fine doing my work in here.”
“No. Izuku. I can’t do my work without you.” Touya knocked on the door gently. “I’m sorry. Okay? I went too far with my dumb joke. I just forget about that ring on your finger sometimes.”

“Well it’s important to me! So maybe you should remember it!” Izuku chided.
“I’ll do better. Just come out. We can even listen to that All Might mystery radio station you like while we work.” Touya bribed him.

There was long moment of silence before the grating sound of the desk feet dragging against the ground was heard. Izuku opened the door.
“Are you gonna help me put this back or what?” He said angrily as his boss sighed in relief.

“Yeah. Let’s put it back.” Touya smirked.

Izuku didn’t know what to make of his boss’s behavior. It was inappropriate. It wasn’t right. But…that’s just how he was, right?
It’s not like he was actually coming onto him. He just did it because he knew it made Izuku upset and he got a kick out of it. Touya helped him put the desk back in silence. Izuku turned on the radio and got to work.

“Izuku?” His boss said after about an hour into work.
“What?” The frustrated boy sighed.

“I am sorry. I do mean it. But…I was honest, you know.” Touya said shyly. It was an uncharacteristic sheepishness Izuku hadn’t seen before.

“Honest about?”

“I do quite like you in my way.”

Izuku stared at him as his breath hitched.
He didn’t know what to say. And he didn’t know why his heart was beating so fast.

“Um…thanks?”

“Sorry. Carry on with your work.” Touya shyly laughed before burying his head in his hand.

“Okay.” Izuku looked down at the draft he was reading. But he couldn’t focus at all.
Later that night, Izuku quietly at dinner with his husband.

“Something wrong with the food? It’s your favorite.” Katsuki pointed out. “But you’ve hardly touched it.”

“I’m sorry.” Izuku sighed. “I-” He didn’t know how to talk about what he was feeling.
He couldn’t even put it in words himself.

“Stressful day?” Katsuki looked at him intensely.

“Stop that.” Izuku burst into tears.

“H-hey!” Katsuki immediately stood up and kneeled at his side. “What’s wrong, baby? What’s wrong?”

“Why can’t I have a stressful day, huh?”
“You have many stressful days!” Izuku lamented. “All you talk about is how stressed you are yet I have one and I have to quit?”

“Izuku, hey, Izuku!” Katsuki wrapped his arms around him and kissed his forehead gently. “I was just being an ass when I made you promise me that.”
“I just want you happy.” He whispered in his ear. “If that job makes you happy, keep it. Okay? I actually wanted to know if you were stressed. No underhanded reason.”

“It was just…hard.” Izuku cried as Katsuki wiped his tears with his thumb.

“Wanna talk about it?”
Izuku nodded his head ‘No’ and Katsuki understood. He stood up.

“Where are you going?” Izuku worried he upset him.

“I’m gonna go start the jets and fill the tub with your favorite All Might bubble bath. K?”

“Kacchan.” Izuku smiled. He really didn’t deserve him.
“Can ya try to eat a little more while I do that?” Katsuki kissed his nose.

“Mmhmm.” Izuku sniffled. “Thank you.”

The bath was wonderful and exactly what he needed. He loved relaxing in the bubbles with Kacchan as he washed his hair for him. He felt so happy.
Izuku rested his head in his chest as he heard nothing but Katsuki’s heartbeat and the sound of the jets. This was heaven. It was all he wanted. He felt so relaxed, he fell asleep in his arms. He didn’t need to dream when he was with Kacchan. His life was a dream.
The next day, Izuku went to work and there was a bouquet of flowers in a donkey shaped vase on his desk.

“What’s this?” Izuku blinked. Attached was a card and he couldn’t help laugh at the message.

‘Sorry I was an ass.
-Your shitty boss’

“I forgive you.” He rolled his eyes.
“Thank God!” Touya leapt up. “Now let’s go bowling!”

“Bowling?!” Izuku gawked.

“Yeah! The whole office is ditching work today for some fun!” Touya announced.

“Oh…everyone will be there?” Izuku shifted uncomfortably.

“What? You wanted it to be a date? Make up your mind!”
“No! It’s just- they don’t like me! Only you and Toga, but everyone else…I can tell they don’t like me.” Izuku grumbled.

“They’re just jealous cause you get the office with air conditioning.” Touya snickered.

“Why do I get to share your office?”
“No time for questions! Touya threw bowling clothes at him. “Go change! Hurry!”

“Okay! Okay!” Izuku got dressed in the locker room anxiously. He really did wish he could get along with his coworkers. But they always whispered when he passed by and barely said hello to him.
One of the stalls opened, making him jolt.

“O-oh! Good morning Shigaraki-San.” Izuku greeted one of the editors as he went to wash his hands.

The intimidating guy with long white hair merely grunted in response.

“Are you coming bowling too?” Izuku was desperate to get along.
“Unfortunately.” Shigaraki sighed.

“Why unfortunately? Do you not like bowling?”

“I don’t mind it but I’d rather get work done than waste the day for the boss’s excuse to stare at your ass.”

“Excuse me?!” Izuku’s face flushed.

“Like you don’t know.” Shigaraki rolled his eyes
“Don’t know what?” Izuku felt so small, the way the guy looked at him. Like he was the gum under his shoe.

“You were just hired to be the boss’s eye candy.” Shigaraki stated. “No one respects you around here, kid. Nice shorts.”
He laughed before leaving and Izuku looked in the mirror at his bowling uniform. The shorts were so small, his shirt looked like a dress.

Izuku blushed furiously. Shigaraki was wrong! He was hired because he was good at his job! Everyone said he was good at his job!
At the bowling alley, Izuku could feel his co-workers judgmental stares when it was his turn to bowl.

“You can do it Izuku-kun!” Toga cheered for him.

Izuku looked at the ball in his hand for a long moment. He was angry. He needed to prove them wrong.
He stared at the ring on his finger and smiled. It calmed him down. No matter how embarrassed or insecure he felt. Kacchan was with him.

‘Prove those assholes wrong, Deku.’

He could hear him say. And so Izuku took a deep breath and curved the ball for a perfect strike.
“Woah! Look at you!” Touya clapped. And Izuku smirked smugly Shigaraki’s way. He didn’t care what they all said. He earned his air conditioned office.

Izuku ended the game in first place and he had never felt more proud of himself.
After the match, Izuku walked with Touya back to their office as the latter went on and on about how much fun that was and cool Izuku was.

“I wasn’t that cool.” Izuku laughed nervously.

“Are you kidding? That was badass! Who knew you had such a way with balls!”

“Touya!”
Izuku laughed. “Don’t phrase it like that.”

“I’m sorry! I just think you should give yourself more credit! You were on fire, kid!” Touya praised him. “What got you all riled up?”

“Um..I don’t know. It’s silly.” Izuku bit his lip nervously.

“Just tell me.”
Touya pried.

“Well, I ran into Shigaraki-San in the bathroom and he implied something that really pissed me off!” Izuku confessed.

“Oh shit. What did the asshole say?”

“He said I was only hired to be your eye candy or something. Which is ridiculous!” Izuku lamented.
Touya just laughed nervously and there was something about the way he did that made Izuku uneasy.

“Right?”

“Um…uh, yeah.” Touya kept laughing. “Totally ridiculous. Not at all because you’re like the cutest guy I’ve ever seen in my life.”

“Touya…” Izuku stopped walking.
The taller guy took a deep breath. “You want the truth? Then yeah, Shigaraki’s not wrong. I hired you cause you’re great to look at. That’s why your desk is in my office. I didn’t care that you were married cause it was to that Bakugo brat.”
Touya just spilled everything out as quickly as possible. “Did he tell you our parents hate each other? I figured he sent you to apply himself to get intel or whatever but maybe he is just a doting husband that lets you do whatever the hell you want, his own business be damned.”
“Point is. The Touya that hired you isn’t the Touya that’s standing in front of you. Yeah I was an ass for doing that. But you did earn your place here, Izuku. You work hard. You deserve this job. And…and I really actually like you. Like mushy gushy feelings and all that.”
“And maybe I’ve come on too strong! I get it! You’re in love with that asshole. But shit Izuku, I can’t help how I feel about you!” Touya confessed. “You’re incredible.”

“Touya..” Izuku began to cry. He had so many mixed feelings. Anger, embarrassment, but also deep sadness.
He was really proud of himself for getting this job. He felt so accomplished and it turned out it was all so his boss could sleep with him? Even if he did change and grow genuine feelings for him, that made it worse! It made it so much worse!
“You tricked me. I thought…I thought..I earned this myself.”

“You did, kid. You’re great at what you do! There was no one else better for this job!” Touya put his hands on his shoulders and Izuku wanted to push him away but he felt so defeated.
“I can’t work here anymore, Touya!” Izuku began to sob. “Everything about it that made me enjoy it was a lie!”

“No! No! Please Izuku, don’t quit. I’ll do anything.” Touya begged.

“I’m married! Do you understand that? What kind of husband would I be if I stayed!”
“So what? You’re just gonna go back to being his little trophy at home?” Touya questioned.

“Better than being your hired trophy here!” Izuku shoved him. “How do you think you’re any better?!”

“I don’t! I just know all the great things you can do! I’ll stay out of your way!”
Touya begged. “Just pretend I never told you how I feel! I’ll move your desk with everyone else! Let you do your work in peace! But Izuku, you love this job. So just stay! Please! Don’t quit on yourself!”

“You gave me no choice!”

“You can choose to forget, can’t you?”
Touya frantically pulled out his phone and presented him and email from one of his authors praising Izuku’s work on her novel.

‘If it wasn’t for Midoriya-San, I would have made such an unforgivable error! I’m so glad I can show my face amongst Mt. Lady fans!’
“The authors need you, the office needs you. And more importantly, you need you to keep this job! I promise, I won’t come onto you. I’ll never mention my stupid feelings again. So please! Please! Don’t quit.” Touya begged.

Izuku read the email over and over and sighed.
“My desk better be moved by Monday.” He relented. “I want it in the library.”

“Done.” Touya sighed in relief.

“And Todoroki-San. Call me Midoriya from now on.”

“Y-yeah.” Touya gulped.

“I’ll see you Monday.”

“See you Monday.”

Izuku forced himself to eat his food that night even though his appetite was gone. That email really did motivate him. He loved his job, he was good at it and he was going to do everything he could to succeed at it, regardless of how or why he got hired in the first place.
"How was work?" Katsuki questioned after he finished his plate.

"It was fine. We went bowling today." Izuku smiled. "I won."

"'Course you did." Katsuki smirked proudly. "Wish I could do that. Had to deal with some bratty model instead. Bitch refused to put her hair up."
Izuku giggled half halfheartedly. He should tell Katsuki what happened with Touya. But if he did, he would for sure make him quit. And he didn't want to. The last thing he wanted to do was make him worry.

"So what did you do?" He questioned.
"Photoshopped this shit out of the pictures." Katsuki yawned. "Had to stay an extra hour to do it. Annoying as hell."

"I'm sure she'll like the final result, regardless. Your models always do." Izuku pointed out.

"Yeah." Katsuki sighed. "Just wish they wouldn't throw a fit."
Izuku sipped his wine slowly as something else ate away at him.

"Kacchan?"

"Yeah?"

"You didn't tell me you knew Todoroki-san."

Katsuki froze for a moment before contemplating what to say. "He told you that?"

"Yeah...something about your parents hating each other?"
Katsuki groaned before guzzling his glass of wine. "I know you love the hag so I didn't wanna tell you cause you were so gung ho about this job, okay?"

"Tell me what?"

"She had a thing with Touya's Dad when they were in high school."

"HUH?!" Izuku's eyes bugged out of his head
"B-b-but Auntie said she met Uncle Masaru then! And it was love at first sight and she never needed anyone else!" He felt like a fairy tale he heard all his life was a lie.

"There was..overlap." Katsuki grumbled, embarrassed.

"She CHEATED?"

"Not ON my old man! With him!"
Katsuki said defensively. "But they were teenagers! Still that Todoroki CEO never got over it, and I guess that's why he was a dick to his wife or something."

"And you didn't think it was important to tell me?" Izuku felt like he was betraying his mother in law somehow.
"I didn't know your boss was him till you got hired and if I told ya, you woulda thought I was just trying to get you to stay home. So I didn't say shit." Katsuki sighed. "I'm sorry."

Izuku pouted as he felt even more sick about Touya's intentions.
"I wanna go to bed." He grumbled.

"Izuku..." Katsuki looked guilty which made Izuku feel worse. He had nothing to feel bad about.

"I'm just tired, Kacchan." Izuku sighed. "It's not you."

"Alright then." Katsuki ran to his side and picked him up bridal style.
"Ahh! What are you doing?" Izuku squeaked.

"If yer so tired, you don't have to move another damn foot today." Katsuki frantically carried him up the stairs into their bedroom before burying him in their bed and showering him with kisses.
"Kacchan!" Izuku giggled up a storm. "What about the dishes?"

"I'll do em." Katsuki declared as he bit down on Izuku's neck making him yelp.

"Ah!" Izuku wrapped his legs around his waist and pulled him closer to him. "Well now I don't want you to leave."
"Then fuck the dishes." Katsuki grinned.

"Yeah." Izuku smiled successfully as Katsuki pinned his wrists to the bed. "Fuck 'em."

That night, Izuku dreamed of Touya again.

"AHH!"

"What's wrong?" Katsuki jolted awake.

"N-nightmare." Izuku breathed heavily.
Katsuki held him close and reassured him it was just a dream and he’s okay but Izuku just felt consumed with guilt. Because he enjoyed himself in the dream! But he wasn’t into his boss like that. He had a husband, an amazing husband! So why?!
That week at work was miserable. He was exhausted because he couldn’t stop dreaming about Touya. It made him not want to sleep. It didn’t help that work was so…lonely and quiet now. He didn’t realize how much he enjoyed Touya’s antics but he couldn’t stand to see him.
Whenever they passed each other in the hallway, Izuku did his best to ignore him. He only spoke to him through email and about work matters. Touya respected it for the most part. But at the end of the week, he tried to make conversation.

“Mi-…fuck, I can’t do it. Izuku!”
“What?” Izuku snapped.

“I..can things not be so weird? I know I’m the one who fucked it up but.. I don’t know, can we try being at least friends?” Touya looked nervous and it made Izuku feel bad. But he couldn’t afford to be anything more than professional with him.

“No.”
Izuku stood his ground. “I’m sorry, Todoroki-San.”

“Fine.” Touya sighed. “I deserve that, I know.”

“I’ll have the finished edits for the Taiyaki House novel turned in at the end of the day.” Izuku said stoically.

“Yeah…I’ll look for forward to it.”
“Todoroki-San.” Izuku scolded.

“Professionally, ‘Midoriya-kun’” Touya rolled his eyes before slumping out.

Izuku sulked in his chair as he stared at the draft. Again, it was hard to focus, before he knew, he dozed off.

“Look at you, all alone for me to find.”
Touya slowly unbuttoned his shirt from behind and kissed his neck making Izuku feel shivers all down his spine.

“Ah…Touya….”

“AHHH!” Izuku screamed awake. Another dream. Another stupid dream. He buried his head in his hands as tears poured out. What was he thinking?!
That weekend, Katsuki tried to force him to sleep.

“No.” Izuku refused.

“Deku, you look like hell.”

“I’d rather burn in hell then have another nightmare.” Izuku said bluntly.

Katsuki held him close and tried to soothe him but he was tense and nothing was working.
“Do you wanna talk about them at least? Maybe if ya tell me, I can make it go away?”

“No! I don’t wanna talk about it! I don’t wanna think about it! I just want them to stop!” Izuku broke down crying.

“Shh..it’s okay. I’m sorry. I wish I could go in your brain and kill them.”
“I wish…you could too. I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” Izuku sobbed. He felt so terrible.

“What are you apologizing for? You can’t help the dumb shit your brain comes up with, okay?” Katsuki pet his hair gently. “They’re just dreams. They don’t mean anything.”
“Here. Drink some water.” Katsuki gave him a water bottle and Izuku guzzled it gratefully.

“Thank you. I don’t deserve you.” Izuku buried himself in his shoulder.

“No, I’m the shithead who doesn’t deserve you.”

“I love you…” Izuku said drowsily.

“Me too…” Katsuki whispered.
“So forgive me, okay?”

“Forgive you?” Izuku questioned as the room began to spin.

“Ya need to sleep nerd.”

And then the world went black.

Izuku woke up in their bed alone.

“Hello?” He jolted up and checked the time on his phone. A whole day had passed.
“Kacchan?” Izuku called out before noticing a teddy bear with a note on his husband’s side of the bed.

“Izuku,
Sorry I couldn’t be here when you woke up. Work emergency. I did what I had to do to get you to sleep. Hopefully Bear Might here scared away the nightmares.
Love you.”
Izuku sighed as he squeezed the teddy bear to his chest. Did Kacchan drug him? He should be upset by that but…he slept and he didn’t dream. He held up the bear and smiled.

“I am never sleeping without you again!”

Work became slightly better now that he could sleep.
Izuku didn’t want to become reliant on those sleeping pills. But there was something about them that scared the dreams away so he kept taking them. Katsuki almost banished Bear Might from the bed because it was hogging all of Izuku’s affection but he held onto it for dead life.
A couple of weeks passed by and now that Izuku was well rested, a part of him regretted how he was treating Touya. Maybe they could be friends. He missed his company. He was really fun to talk to. But he didn’t how he would approach mending a friendship without towing any lines.
“Todoroki-San, would you like to start over?” Izuku practiced as he paced back and forth in the bathroom. “T-Touya, I was thinking we could just start over, if that’s okay?”

Izuku ran through so many scenarios in his mind. But he decided to just get it over with.
He took a deep breath before knocking on Touya’s office door nervously. The door was slightly open.

“Touya?” Izuku questioned before he heard a loud thud and a groan. “Touya!” He ran into the office and noticed the sound coming from the closet.
Izuku hoped he was okay. That he wasn’t hurt! He ran to the sound before flinging the door open and that’s when all the color drained from his face as he caught Shigaraki going down on him.

“Shit!” Touya gasped. “What are you doing here, kid?”

“I-” Izuku backed up.
He was in shock. He felt so many overwhelming emotions running through him.

“I’m sorry!” He ran out of the office back into the library and sat in his chair as he tried to collect himself. Once the shock wore off, Izuku felt it all at once. Pain. Heartbreak….Jealousy.
Why was he feeling this way?! This ugly ugly all consuming rage at Shigaraki as if Touya somehow belonged to him! Izuku was married! He stared at his ring as he began to have a panic attack. This was wrong. It was wrong! He shouldn’t be feeling this way!
Tears poured out of his eyes as he buried his head in his hands. Kacchan didn’t deserve this. Izuku had to be better. He had to protect his marriage. He couldn’t do this anymore! No job was worth it. Because nothing would make him happier than Katsuki.
Izuku tried to calm himself down. These feelings were awful, and ugly and weren’t voluntary. He needed to do what was right. He packed all of his things, sent out everything he had so far, cleared his desk and typed out his resignation letter.

‘Todoroki-San,
I quit.’
TBC 💻
Izuku spent that evening cooking Katsuki’s favorite dinner. He made sure to take his time so he could feel every bit of love that went into it. He needed him to know from the bottom of his heart that he chose him. No matter what, he will always choose him.
“Izuku?”

The front opened startling him. It was only 6 PM. Kacchan usually didn’t get home until around 7.

“Kacchan? You’re early!” Izuku ran to the front door and almost slipped and fell from his fuzzy socks on the tile. Katsuki caught him before he could.
“What about you?” Katsuki steadied him and observed him. His curls were tied back in a ponytail, and he was wearing nothing but an apron and one of Katsuki’s T shirts. “How long have you been home?”

“Um…a while.” Izuku giggled.

“Ya get off early today or what?”
“Yes and no?” Izuku threw his arms around him and tiptoed to plant a kiss on his lips.

“Whaddya mean?”

“I quit.” Izuku smiled sheepishly.

“Huh?!” Katsuki pulled him from his waist back to the kitchen so he didn’t burn whatever DELICIOUS food he was cooking. It smelled amazing
As soon as he was sure the food was fine, he hoisted Izuku on the counter and stuck his tongue down his throat.

“What made ya do that, huh? Something happen?” He tried not to show how glad he was, but Izuku definitely noticed.

“No. I just…wasn’t really happy there anymore.”
It was the truth. Somewhat. Izuku wasn’t happy. He was miserable. He felt like all of his feelings were put into a blender and his brain was re-wired every time he even looked at Touya. He didn’t want to feel that anymore. He wanted to focus on his marriage. On himself.
“Ya sure nothing happened? Do I need to burn the place down? Ya seemed into the whole thing.” Katsuki whispered.

“I was. And I’m still really glad I did it, you know? I tried it and I’m proud of myself. But I was thinking…and nothing makes me happier than you.”
Izuku pressed their lips together once more.

“I just want you. Is that okay?”

“It’s more than okay, nerd.” Katsuki ripped his hair tie out and ran his hands through his curls roughly as he devoured the inside of his mouth hungrily. “Fuck, I love you.”
“Mm..Kacchan. The food.” Izuku giggled as the pot began to boil.

“There’s something else I wanna eat instead.” Katsuki spread his legs apart causing Izuku to squeal.

“Kacchan!” Izuku playfully hit him. “I worked hard on your meal.”

“And I want this one!”
Katsuki whined before getting on his knees as he turned the flame off. “We can eat this stuff later.”

“If it’s what you w-want.” Izuku blushed.

“You’re all I want.” Katsuki looked at him intensely and Izuku felt chills all over his body.

They never did eat dinner that night.
They spent all evening in their bedroom, and Izuku forgot all about anything he ever felt except Katsuki. He didn’t really care to overthink why his husband was so happy. What mattered was, he was. That’s all that mattered to him. Because Kacchan deserved the world.
And to him, that was Izuku.

After they finally tired each other out, Izuku began to doze off in his husband’s chest. He could feel his gaze still on him as he kissed his forehead over and over.

“Goodnight Izuku.” Katsuki whispered.

“Goodnight Kacchan. I love you.”
Katsuki was quiet for a moment. Izuku was slowly fading out of consciousness, as exhaustion overwhelmed him but he was still slightly awake.

“You asleep?” Katsuki whispered and Izuku didn’t say anything because he practically was. “I’m fucking obsessed with you, ya know…”
“If I had it my way, I’d lock you away forever.” He said possessively. “But I know that wouldn’t make you happy.” He snickered. “Love you.”

Izuku didn’t know what to make of that, but he felt an overwhelming sense of guilt. Quitting was right. Kacchan didn’t have to know why.
Two months passed by and Izuku didn’t know why he was so worried about not working. He loved his life. He had the whole day to focus on himself and things he liked. He started his old podcast back up and surprisingly it started to pick up attention!
The worry that he would have no one but his husband went away quickly when he made friends at a local comic book store he stopped by frequently on his walks. They invited him to join their book club! Their names were Kirishima Eijiro and…Todoroki Shoto.
Izuku was worried becoming friends with Touya’s brother. As soon as he said his last name, Izuku’s face paled and he almost dropped out of the book club. But Shoto was nothing like his brother and they didn’t have much of a relationship.
He felt safe with him, just like he did with Kirishima and his wife Mina. Also importantly, Kacchan got along with everyone too! Izuku wasn’t much of a video game person but Kirishima was and him and Katsuki frequently made use of their PlayStation.
Since Izuku had time now, he was able to actually enjoy the large house they lived in which had a pool, a garden, a movie theatre and a tennis court! He quite enjoyed the tennis court. He also found a new passion. He was going to write his own novel!
Izuku felt so happy in his new life that he almost forgot about his old job. It really was a huge source of stress for him that he now didn’t have to worry about. Not to mention, Kacchan was much happier! He didn’t know why he let Uraraka get in his head so much.
The dreams of Touya stopped. At least the inappropriate ones. Every now and then he would dream that Touya would show up in front of his house and ask to play tennis or watch a movie and Izuku would welcome him in. They were all innocent for the most part. But they saddened him.
Izuku never got to place what exactly he felt for his boss. He truly was a fascinating person. Definitely not someone he could forget so easily. But he was a threat to his marriage, to Kacchan’s happiness and so…Izuku just hoped he doing well. He had been tempted to ask Shoto.
But he figured it was best he separate himself completely. Touya was a risk Izuku simply couldn’t afford to take.

“I’m having a party.” Shoto announced one day at their book club.

“Oh! What for?” Izuku questioned excitedly.

“I’m going to propose to Momo.”
“Oh my God!” Mina squealed excitedly as she brought over cookies. It was Eijiro’s turn to host book club. His house was small and cozy. He couldn’t work because of an injury he was recovering from and Mina was still finishing school but luckily she inherited it from her Grandma.
“Congrats man!” Ei cheered as he raised his beer can.

“I’m happy for you guys!” Izuku beamed.

“Me too. I hope she’ll say yes. Or else the party will be embarrassing. My father’s the one insisting I throw it.” Shoto sighed.

“Oh. Is your whole family gonna be there?”
Izuku questioned nervously.

“Yeah. Everyone’s coming and a bunch of business people but I don’t care too much for them.” Shoto grumbled. He was poised to take over Endeavor enterprises. A role Touya was SUPPOSED to have as the eldest.

“I see.” Izuku gulped.
He swirled his own beer can nervously. Shoto had become a really good friend of his. He couldn’t skip out on his party even if Touya was there.

“Bakugo is also invited of course.” Shoto turned to Izuku who smiled gratefully.

“I’ll make sure he clears his schedule!”
From the sounds of it, Shoto and Momo’s engagement party was going to be extravagant and crowded. Izuku wouldn’t have to worry too much about running into Touya. He could easily avoid him! As long as he kept by Katsuki’s side, there shouldn’t be a problem.
Shoto and Kacchan both didn’t care too much for the weird fued between their parents. Auntie Mitsuki would probably blow a gasket at them being photographed on a Todoroki Yacht but Kacchan laughed at the thought and it made him want to attend more.
The evening of the party and Izuku looked in the mirror feeling weirdly confident in his outfit. He was wearing a sheer oversized black blouse that puffed out when it was tucked into his white skin tight pants and sleek black boots. He felt fancy.
Katsuki styled him himself. Katsuki wore an all red suit that he wore in a disheveled manner with what had to be 5 untied ties hanging around his neck. He looked cool.

“One more thing.” Katsuki said before they left.

“Hm?” Izuku tilted his head as his husband grabbed his ears
He stared intensely into his eyes as he looped what felt like earrings into the pierced holes.

"Perfect." Katsuki doted on him before presenting him in front of a mirror where Izuku gasped at the sight of the beautiful emeralds dangling from his ears.
"Kacchan! These are beautiful." Izuku teared up.

"They match your eyes." Katsuki whispered from behind him before kissing his neck. "Got 'em shipped from Egypt as soon as I saw 'em on one of our fashion spreads. They look perfect on you."
"Thank you!" Izuku sniffled. "But why?"

"No reason." Katsuki wrapped his arms around him and pressed his lips to his temple. "Just felt like it."

"You're amazing. I'm so blessed to have you." Izuku buried his face in his hands and wiped his tears.

"Stop cryin'" Katsuki laughed
"We got a party to get to." He laced their hands together and Izuku felt so warm. He didn't care who he saw at the party. He had the best husband in the world and nothing was going to take that away from him.

The yacht was huge. Izuku had been on his fair share of them but THIS?
It was a monstrosity on water.

"Show off, much?" Katsuki clicked his tongue.

They walked in and the whole boat was filled chattering guests. There whispers and leering gazes as they passed by.

"Oh my God.."

"That's Bakugo Katsuki, right?"

"A Bakugo at a Todoroki ball?!"
Izuku was used to his husband drawing attention, but nothing like this.

"Smile for the cameras Deku." Katsuki instructed as he put his arm around him, kissed his forehead and flipped off the photographers that tried to take his picture.
After hitting up the open bar, they finally found Shoto, Momo, Eijiro and Mina.

"Midoriya, Bakugo. You made it." Shoto smiled.

"Of course! Congratulations Todoroki-kun! And you too Yaoyourozu-san!" Izuku beamed.

"Cheers." Katsuki rose up his glass of champagne.
"Yes. Cheers." Shoto clinked their glasses together and the camera flashes were ruthless.

"Ugh. How irritating!" Mina rubbed her eyes.

"Should we go to the deck?" Eijiro suggested.

"Actually I know a quieter area." Momo smiled. "Follow m-"
She began to say before a loud drawn out clapping sound interrupted them.

"Congrats Lil bro!"

Izuku turned slowly and saw as Touya dressed in a white t shirt and ripped jeans walked in with his arm around Toga who was wearing what looked like a school girl uniform.
"Ya finally put a ring on it! And what a beauty too! The fiance that is." Touya squinted his eyes.

"Hi Touya." Shoto greeted in annoyance.

Izuku couldn't help as his grip on Katsuki's arm tightened.

"Thank you both for coming." Momo smiled sweetly.
"Oh! I didn't know Izuku-kun was gonna be here!" Toga immediately turned everyone's attention towards him.

"He's in my book club." Shoto informed them. "We're all good friends."

Touya was surprisingly silent as his sapphire eyes glared straight into Izuku's.
"Long time no see." Izuku cleared his throat.

"Nice earrings." Was all Touya said.

"Don't they look great on him?" Katsuki bragged as he tilted Izuku's chin up with his finger toward him. He brushed the back of his neck with his thumb soothingly.
As soon as their eyes met, Izuku felt instantly better. He took a deep breath and relaxed.

"Yeah." Touya smirked and Izuku tensed up all over again. "I see why you keep him as a trophy."

"The hell did you just say?!" Katsuki snapped.

"Touya! Over here!"
Todoroki Fuyumi waved her brother over and he rolled his eyes.

"Come on Toga, Nee-San's been dying to meet you." He laced his in hers and Izuku had to fight that terrible feeling that crept up again. It didn't matter. Not in the slightest.
"What's his deal?" Kirishima asked angrily after Touya was gone.

"He's probably just upset I quit abruptly." Izuku rubbed Katsuki's arm reassuringly. "He likes to rile people up."

"Yeah. Touya's an ass." Shoto sighed.
"Is it wrong of me to feel relieved he targeted you instead of me this time?" Momo played with her engagement ring protectively.

"Let's not let him rain on your parade! Come on, let's party!" Mina suggested, but there was something that didn't feel right to Katsuki.
Still, he shook off the feeling and they all had a good time dancing, drinking too much and enjoying the party. Momo and Shoto had been dragged away after sometime to meet with business partners. And Mina and Izuku walked off together to get another drink.
"Dude. Katsuki." Eijiro pointed to the stairs. "I left my coat in the suite we were hanging out in. Can you come with me to get it?" He begged.

"I'm not your mom. Get it yerself." Katsuki rolled his eyes.

"But...that room is totally haunted! You heard the screams!"
Katsuki pouted as he turned away. He definitely heard the screams. "Why do you think I don't wanna go with you, huh?" He whispered, embarrassed.

"I-I'm sure they won't bother us if we're together, but my wallet and everything is in there! Please!" Kirishima whined.
"Fine! Just top your pathetic cryinn!" Katsuki relented.

"Thanks! You're so manly!" Eijiro praised.

"Whatever. Let's just get this over with."

Izuku stood in the long line at the open bar with Mina.
"This is like the best party I've EVER been to." She gushed.
"It is a lot of fun." Izuku agreed.

"Okay! Now that we're alone! Tell me everything about Todoroki's hot brother." Mina pried.

"Huh? Touya? What about him?" Izuku blinked.

"Come on! He was totally giving you bedroom eyes!"

"He was not!" Izuku squirmed.
"Look, Izuku." She draped her arms around him drunkenly. "I get it. You've won the hot rich husband lottery. But it's only human for your eyes to wander now and then. There was TOTALLY something going on between you."

"N-no! He was just my boss!"

"Your hot, tattooed boss?"
"Maybe you're the one with wandering eyes, Ashido-san." Izuku accused.

"Maybe I am!" She laughed. "But come on, no guy compliments your earrings unless-wait, Izuku, where's your other earring?"

"Huh?" Izuku immediately touched his ears in a panic. One of them was gone!
"Where could I have lost it?!" He freaked out. Those earrings were a special gift! How could he have been so careless?!

"It's okay! Don't panic! We'll find it!" Mina grabbed his hand and lead him to the dance floor where they spent a long time.
They both looked at their feet, and saw the floor covered in shiny confetti.

"I'll never find it!" Izuku cried.

"Maybe we should split up. I'll check around here, you look outside by the deck, okay?" Mina suggested.

"Okay." Izuku sniffled. He felt awful. He couldn't lose it!
Izuku felt like a crazy person as his eyes were glued to the floor as he scampered around the deck. He had to stop crying. He needed find it and fast! He didn't want to have to tell his husband he lost it! Kacchan was so excited to give it to him.
"Yo! Quitter!" Touya's voice startled him.

Izuku looked his direction and felt dread fill his stomach as he as he saw familiar emeralds dangled in tattooed hands.

"Looking for this?" His former boss grinned wildly.

"Touya..."

"Better catch me!"
Katsuki didn't wanna spend one more minute in that suite as Eijiro frantically looked for his jacket.

"Come on! Come on! Where is it?!" Ei panicked.

"Maybe someone jacked it." Katsuki rolled his eyes. "File it with the Half and Half lost and found department!"
"I think...it's in the coat closet." Eijiro gulped. That's where they heard the screams.

"Good luck." Katsuki said as he backed further and further away.

"Come on! Come with me inside! Please!"

"Fuck no!"

"If you don't, I'll tell Izuku you got rid of Bear Might!"
"You traitor!" Katsuki growled. "I told you that in confidence!"

"I'm sorry man! I just can't go in there by myself!" Ei cried. "I'm too young to die!"

"So you want BOTH OF US DEAD?!" Katsuki roared. "Whatever, let's just get the damn coat and go!"
They both hesitated as they heard an ominous shaking noise in the closet.

"I hate you." Katsuki shivered before kicking the door open. They both stared at the dark closet as Ei clung to Katsuki's arm like a feral cat.

The coat was of course in the very back.
"Let's get this over with." Katsuki shook Eijiro off of him before storming in the back to grab it but there was a bucket he didn't see that caused him to trip and fall. "Goddamn it!" He cursed.

"You alright?!" Eijiro rushed to him worriedly and as soon as he did, the door shut.
“Ah shit.” Eijiro said and then they heard the screaming again and they both jumped.

“Fuck! Open the door!” Katsuki ordered.

“Wait….Look!” The red head pointed to a small port window where light was emanating. He walked over and peered through it where he could see the pool.
There were girls in bikinis screaming as they were pushing each other in.

“No wonder.” Ei sighed in relief.

“Let me see!” Katsuki pushed him out of the way and scowled when he realized how stupid they were. “Fuck, we drank too much. You tell this to know one!”
“I’m just as embarrassed as you dude.” Eijiro laughed before they heard a door slam and jumped. It came from inside the suite.

“TOUYA! STOP IT!” Izuku shreiked. “GIVE IT BACK!”

Katsuki rushed to the closet door but stopped when heard Touya’s bargain.
“You know what you have to do to get it, kid! Tell me why you really quit! The truth! No bullshit!” Touya demanded emotionally.

“I already told you why!” Izuku yelled. “Because it was too stressful, now give me back my earring!”

“You and I both know that’s horse shit!”
“Dude, come on open the-” Eijiro whispered before Katsuki clasped his hand over his mouth.

“Shut up.” He seethed. Katsuki wanted to know the answer too. No matter how much he pried and pried, Izuku always repeated himself. But he could tell deep down it was a lie.
Izuku was a kind person. He probably didn’t want to unleash Katsuki’s rage on his asshole boss or a coworker or something. Katsuki needed to know what really happened so he could stand up for his husband the way he deserved.

“It’s not bullshit! So give it!” Izuku lunged forward.
Touya grabbed his wrist and pulled up against his chest while dangling the earring too high for him to reach.

“Well isn’t this a familiar position.” Touya smirked.

“Touya!” Izuku growled. “Stop it!”

“How bad do you want Daddy’s little gift, huh?”

“Fuck you!”
Izuku hit his chest and Touya stumbled back.

“Ya know, I really can’t stand the way he is with you.”

“My marriage is none of your business!” Izuku spat.

“But the reason my employee quits? Now THATS my business. I saw your face when you saw me and Tomura!”
Touya pried. “You have to understand why I ran to him. Don’t you get it?! You wouldn’t even look at me, Izuku! It was stupid! If I could take it back I would! But why are you punishing me when YOU’RE the one who rejected me?!”

“I’m not punishing you!”
Izuku’s voice was shaking. “I just didn’t like what I saw so I quit!”

“But why didn’t you like it, huh? Just admit it! You were jealous!” Touya demanded. “I know you’re with your childhood sugar daddy forever okay?! I just need to know what I felt wasn’t crazy!”
“It WAS crazy! I love Kacchan!” Izuku cried.

“But that doesn’t mean you didn’t feel something with me! Can you at least admit that?! Admit it and I’ll give you your stupid trophy decoration back and leave you alone forever!” Touya begged.
“I can’t.” Izuku said firmly. “I won’t.”

“Fine.” Touya ran to the far end of the suite and opened the window that over looked the ocean. “ADMIT IT OR ITS GONE FOREVER!”

“Touya! Stop! Please!” Izuku cried. “Please give it back!”

“I will drop it right now Izuku! Just admit it!”
“Fine! I had feelings for you! Is that what you wanna hear?!”

“Had?” Touya laughed as he dangled the earring further out the window.

“I HAVE feelings for you! But I hate the part of me that does! I hate it more than anything because I love Kacchan and I don’t wanna lose him!”
Izuku sobbed. “I hate these feelings. So please…just give it back! Give it back and leave me alone!”

Touya sighed as he pulled the earring inside. He shut the window and walked slowly to Izuku who was crying his eyes out. He grabbed his hand placed the earring inside it.
“What if you weren’t married?” Touya whispered as he tilted his chin up. “If you weren’t married. And it was just us, would you let me kiss you?”

“I can’t answer that.” Izuku croaked. “I just want you to leave me alone.”

“Izuku-” Touya couldn’t take it as he grabbed his face.
“STO-” Izuku tried to fight him but Touya was stronger than him as he smashed his lips onto his. It all happened so fast. A door slammed open. Footsteps ran over and before Izuku knew it, Touya was slugged in the nose.

“GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HIM!”
“Kacchan…” Izuku said in horror as he saw the pained look on his face while tears poured down his eyes. Izuku slowly looked back to where he came from…the closet. He was in the closet. He heard everything.

“Shit!” Touya screamed before Katsuki punched him in stomach.
He then grabbed him by the throat and shoved him to the window.

“I’m gonna talk.” Katsuki growled. “And you’re gonna listen to every damn work, ya hear?!” He shoved the window open and dangled Touya’s head outside of it.

“Katsuki!” Eijiro screamed.
“You’re crazy…” Touya coughed as Katsuki tightened his grip on his throat.

“You bet your fucking ass I am. Crazier than you will ever be if you dare to touch what’s mine again. Ya hear?! He said to leave him alone, and you better damn well listen to him!”
“Because if you speak to him ever again, I’ll slit your throat. If you look his direction? I’ll poke your damn eyes out. And if I find out you dare laid your hands on Izuku? You’re going to WISH I killed you right here in this moment!”
Katsuki dangled him further out the window till half his torso was over the ocean.

“I’m gonna let you go, and when I do? Don’t look at him. Just keep walking. And never show yourself to us ever again! Ya hear?”

“F-fine!” Touya’s face was turning blue from lack of air.
Katsuki smirked in satisfaction as he yanked back into the suit and let go of his throat.

Touya immediately gasped for air and as soon as he could bring himself to walk, he did. He kept walking and he didn’t look back.

“To-” Izuku called after him but he slammed the door.
Izuku then turned back to his husband who’s hand was shaking.

“Kacchan.”

“I…should leave you two alone.” Eijiro shifted uncomfortably. He ran out the door and Izuku immediately rushed to Katsuki.

“Kacchan, I-” But before he could say more, Katsuki threw his arms around him.
“Let’s go home.” Katsuki said quietly. So quiet, Izuku could barely hear it despite him being right by his ear.

“Okay…” Izuku whimpered. “I’m so-”

“Don’t.” Katsuki squeezed him tighter as Izuku could feel him trembling all over. “I can’t hear that right now.”
The ride home was long and quiet. Both were crying but neither really said anything. Every now and then Katsuki would grab Izuku’s hand and rub it desperately before kissing ever knuckle. It broke Izuku’s heart. Because he was in pain. And it was all his fault.
When they finally got home, Katsuki tackled Izuku into the mattress and just cried into his curls.

“I’m sorry.” Katsuki whispered.

“Why are YOU apologizing?!” Izuku couldn’t take this. It hurt so bad seeing his husband like this. His strong, amazing beautiful husband.
“Because I didn’t protect you!” Katsuki sobbed. “I let you fend for your damn self to get that earring when I was right there! All because I wanted the same answer he did! How was I any better than him?!”

“No, that’s my fault Kacchan! My fault! If I had just told you then..”
“Stop! Stop! I can’t even think about that right now!” Katsuki turned away from him and Izuku didn’t know what else to say.

“I love you.” Izuku said desperately. “More than anyone. More than anything. I just want you. I will choose you, Kacchan! Always!”
“Yeah. I know.” Katsuki sat up as he tried to force a smile. “You quit because you chose me. You weren’t gonna tell him how you feel until he forced your hand because you chose me. You told him you felt in order to get that earring because you CHOSE me.”
“But Izuku…” Katsuki broke down. “You’re not a CHOICE to me. There’s no such thing as anyone else. There ARE NO OTHER OPTIONS.” He cried. “You’re it! I don’t have to choose! I can’t even breathe oxygen if it’s not in a world where you’re mine!”
“Kacchan…I’m so so-” Izuku couldn’t but say before Katsuki grabbed his face and kissed him desperately, sloppily, passionately.

“I don’t wanna hear it.” Katsuki whispered. “It sucks. This sucks. It hurts, but it’s not your fault. So don’t apologize.”
“How is it not my fault?!” Izuku broke down. “I’ve hurt you! I did this!”

“Because you’re human, Deku. You’re human. It’s normal. But me? I’m not normal. I live and breathe only for you. And call that fucked in the head or whatever but it’s just how I feel!”
Katsuki wrapped himself around him and took a deep breath. “So don’t leave me, okay?”

“I should be the one begging you to stay! I want you to stay! I know I don’t deserve you but I want YOU! I love YOU! I don’t want anyone else! So please! Please believe me and stay!”
Izuku squeezed his husband tight. He was the worst person on earth for hurting him.

“Izuku.” Katsuki laughed. “I already told you. I don’t have a choice.”
TBC ❤️‍🩹
The week following the party was the worst week of Izuku’s life. He broke Kacchan’s heart and there was nothing he could do to fix it. Katsuki didn’t want to hear apologies and he was increasingly frustrated that every action Izuku seemed to do was a way of apologizing.
“Go to your stupid book club, Deku.” Katsuki whispered on the phone with him on his lunch break.

“I just don’t feel like it this week Kacchan.” Izuku mumbled.

“Izuku. I’ll be fine. Just go.”

“But-”

“Ya spent all last week excited about that pirate story! Go!”
Izuku didn’t know how he could face his friends after everything. Not to mention, this week’s book club was at Shoto’s house. Touya and he weren’t close but even the slightest chance of Izuku running into him was not a risk he was willing to take.
He just wanted Kacchan to be happy again. He wanted everything to go back to normal, before he met Touya. Izuku decided not to go to book club, but he didn’t stay home either. Katsuki would be upset if he saw he stayed home. So Izuku instead went wandering around the mall.
He wondered what was wrong with him. How could his heart ever feel anything for anyone else? After walking through the shopping center for what felt like hours, Izuku paused as he saw a familiar teddy bear on display at a toy store. He wondered what happened to Bear Might.
Izuku had slept with him every night for so long and one day, after book club, he came back and he was gone.

“Kacchan, have you seen Bear Might?” He questioned frantically after turning the room upside down.

“Nope.” Katsuki had shrugged. “Ya need help finding him?”
Katsuki had patiently searched the whole house with Izuku that day. And it was a VERY LARGE house. Izuku ended the day in tears. Because that was Kacchan’s gift to him. It was special. It helped protect his mind from those awful dreams and he lost it! How could he be so careless?
Izuku bit his bottom lip guiltily as he stared at the plush in the window. It was like it was confirming his worst fears about himself. He was careless with Kacchan’s heart. Great, now he looked like a crazy person crying in front of a toy store.
To Izuku’s horror the sales person walked to the window and removed the teddy bear. He hoped it wasn’t because of him! But then he saw that he was grabbing it for a customer. It must have been the last one. Izuku peered in to see who was going to buy it and gasped in shock.
He ran in the store and the customer turned to look at him as the bell chimes caught his attention.

“Kacchan?!”
“Izuku?!”

“That will be 6,000 yen please!” The cashier beckoned.

“Uh..sure.” Katsuki handed her his credit card as he hung his head low.
After she gave him the bear, he awkwardly shuffled over to his husband and shoved it in his arms.

“You bought me another one? Even though I lost the first one?” Izuku blinked sadly.

“What are you doing here?” Katsuki sighed. “I told you to go to book club.”
Izuku looked at the bear and squeezed it with all of his might.

“I couldn’t. I couldn’t Kacchan!” He sobbed into the plush.

“Hey, quit crying. Not here.” Katsuki wrapped his arms around him and guided him out of the store. They sat in front of the fountain as Izuku cried.
Katsuki let him get it out of his system as he rubbed his back gently while he soaked his new gift with his tears. After his sobs turned to soft sniffles, Katsuki put his arm around him and kissed his temple.

“I threw Bear Might out.” He confessed.

“H-huh?”
“Ya didn’t lose him. I was jealous of a stupid stuffed animal because ya kept clinging to him instead of me. And it pissed me off. So while you were at book club, I grabbed him and threw him in the garbage and took it out.” Katsuki sighed.

“But…you helped me look for him.”
Izuku was confused.

“I know.”

“You lied to me?”

“I did. And I’m sorry.” Katsuki slumped. “So we’re even okay? I did fucked up shit too.”

“Kacchan.” Izuku said incredulously. “That is nowhere near the same thing!”
“Sure it’s upsetting you let me panic and think I lost it. But I…I-”

“You did your best.” Katsuki sighed before resting his head on his shoulder. “You were fucking scouted and hounded on every step of the way.”
The day after the party, Katsuki had Izuku tell him everything no matter how painful it was to hear. So Izuku let him know all about why he was hired in the first place. Where his desk was placed, every one of Touya’s antics. How he didn’t realize until it was too late.
“Yeah…it sucks that you fell for his shit…that you fell for him. But, you never let me down.” Katsuki grabbed his face and caressed his cheeks. “You made sure he knew you were mine.”

“I wish I never met him. I wish I never took that job.” Izuku sniffled.
“I’m glad you did.” Katsuki said, confusing Izuku.

“Huh?”

“I said I’m glad you did! Because you let people get into your head about how you live your life. You let yourself believe you weren’t living to your full potential. Now look at you. You proved every asshole wrong!”
Katsuki grabbed him by the waist and pulled him to his lap.

“You’re fucking amazing.” He kissed his neck. “And I get it. I can be suffocating.”

“N-not at all!” Izuku protested.

“I got jealous of a teddy bear, Deku.” Katsuki pouted.

“I’m sure I would be too!”
Izuku threw the bear to the side and threw his arms around him.

“I’m crazy about you too, Kacchan! I love you! I-I heard you that one night you know. You said if you had it your way, you would lock me away forever and if that’s what you want-”

“Izuku.” Katsuki laughed.
“If it would actually make you happy, I would.” He kissed him before staring into his eyes intensely. “I would squish you until you were small enough to fit in my pocket and I’d take you everywhere. But that wouldn’t make you happy. I know you better than that.”
“What about your happiness? That’s important to me Kacchan! More than anything! If you want me to stay in our room forever wearing nothing but your favorite lingerie, I would! Just say the word! I’ll give up my hobbies, my friends, my-” Izuku began to pledge excessively.
Katsuki grabbed a handful of his hair and shoved his tongue in his throat, interrupting him. The only thing stopping him from taking all of him was the fact they were in a very public place.

“Stupid nerd.” He smirked. “Don’t say shit like that.”
“At least not here.” He growled seductively before picking up his husband, the teddy bear, and practically running to his car. They didn’t leave their bedroom for the next two days.

“Izuku.” Katsuki whispered as he traced his hand lovingly down his arms in the bath.
“Hm?” Izuku hummed.

“I need you to be yourself. Don’t give up anything you love, okay?” Katsuki said as he kissed him over and over.

“Okay.” Izuku nodded. “That means I’ll never give up on Kacchan!”

“You sappy little shit!” Katsuki plopped a wad of bubbles in his face.
“Kacchan! My eyes!” Izuku whined before splashing him.

“Fuck! Now you got it in my eyes!”

They splashed each other back and forth until the bath was practically devoid of water before laughing in each other’s embrace.

Izuku didn’t care what anyone thought. He was happy.
After a long week of work for Katsuki, he surprised Izuku with a much needed vacation. They spent a lot of time reconnecting and healing. The wounds were still there but they re-opened them and patched them up together. Because though Katsuki tried to deny it, marriage was work.
They had only ever been with each other and while they were ridiculously happy, bumps in the road were bound to happen. Izuku had to learn to be honest with his husband even if it means hurting him. And Katsuki had to learn to find happiness that wasn’t dependent on Izuku.
It was nice to have that time where the world was just the two of them. But they had to go back to the real world eventually. And they had to tackle it together.
Izuku stared at the sunset on their last day at their beach house while Katsuki excitedly made a sand sculpture over his body.

“Kacchan, you have to clear this soon or the tide will whisk me away!” Izuku giggled nervously as his toes poked out of the mermaid “tail”.
“Fuck the ocean!” Katsuki roared before climbing on top of Izuku and kissing him. “I won’t let it take you.”

“Well the water is getting closer and closer!” Izuku warned.

“Then it’s taking both of us.” Katsuki grinned devilishly.

“You’re not a very good swimmer, Kacchan…”
“Fuck you! I can swim! Will you come with my Little Mermaid, huh? To the depths of-” but before he could say anymore, a wave crashed over them startling him.

“Ah! Hahaha!” Izuku cackled as Katsuki clung onto him for dear life. “Come on, let’s dry off!”
“Fuck you.” Katsuki grumbled before kissing him over and over as another wave crashed over them.

“Mmm..I’ll go with you anywhere.” Izuku said as he leaned up into another kiss while wet sand dripped out of his curls.
Izuku now knew that Uraraka’s words about living in Kacchan’s shadow was the furthest thing from the truth. He wasn’t in his shadow, he was by his side. And he was happy. Happier than ever. And he would let nothing ruin it.

When the two got home, they were greeted by police.
“What the hell’s going on?!” Katsuki questioned as their home was surrounded by cop cars.

“Bakugo Katsuki. We have questions regarding the fire at the Todoroki Publishing House.”

“Fire?!” Izuku blinked in horror.
After getting the explanation by the officers, they learned there was a huge fire at Izuku’s old job. Luckily everyone made it out okay but Todoroki Touya mysteriously disappeared after.
The cops placed Katsuki as their number one suspect after photos of their altercation where he dangled him by the neck over the ocean went viral. Katsuki and Izuku, however had an airtight alibi with their vacation.

“You have lots of money Bakugo-San!”
The police officer interrogated. “But money always has a trail. If you hired someone to do it, we will find out!”

“I didn’t do shit!” Katsuki rolled his eyes. “That piece of crap isn’t worth all that effort.”

“You’re not doing yourself any favors by insulting him!”

“Exactly.”
Katsuki scoffed. “Because I don’t give a damn.”

After 12 grueling hours at the police station, Katsuki was finally released.

“Kacchan!” Izuku threw his arms around him. “I’m sorry. This is all my fault.”

“No it’s not.” Katsuki sighed. “Let’s just go home.”
When they arrived home, they sat in silence while watching Katsuki’s favorite movie to help him relax. Izuku was dozing off in his lap when Katsuki laced his hands through his hair.

“You worried about him?” He asked tentatively.

“No.”

“Izuku…”

“A little.”
“I’m sure he’s fine.” Katsuki sighed as he sipped on his beer.

“You don’t have him tied up in our basement, do you?” Izuku giggled nervously.

“You would know.” Katsuki smirked. “You checked.”

“I did not!” Izuku laughed.

“I have cameras down there, you did!”
“Why do you have cameras in our basement?” Izuku blinked.

“Cause I have a bunch of important work shit down there that no one’s supposed to see. It’s just to cover my own ass. The fashion world is testy about the next fall looks or whatever.” Katsuki lamented.
“Okay, so I checked but can you blame me?” Izuku grumbled.

“No.” Katsuki smiled softly before kissing his forehead. “You’re smart, Izuku. But I didn’t hurt him because I know it would upset you.”

“You threw Bear Might away.”

“Oh so now you throw that in my face!”
They laughed together before Katsuki got a phone call.

“Hello? Come on! I just got back, do we really have to do this now?” He mouthed to Izuku ‘work shit’ before standing up and rushing to his office. Izuku used the time to clean up.
He hummed to himself before noticing the donkey shaped flower vase in the kitchen laying down.

“Hm?” Izuku looked around before standing it back up. He stared at it for a long moment before pulling the flowers out and emptying the vase when a card fell out.

‘Izuku’
He opened it quickly.

‘I’m sure by now, the world is stunned by my magnificent disappearing act. Sorry for holding your murder daddy up. I’m sure they are very suspicious about his involvement. But yeah, you probably figured out by now that it was me. I set the fire.’
‘Truth is kid,
It was too painful to be there without you. I’ve never said this to anyone. But I love you. So much, it burns me from the inside out to lose you. I know you’re with him. I know you love him. But if any part of you still gives a shit,’
‘I’m camping out at the old windmill near Shitsuren Lake. I’ll be there until the last day of October. Then I’m taking off to who knows where.’

Izuku checked his watch. It was the 30th now. He would be there for one more day.

‘I’d love to see you one last time.’
‘Love your asshole boss,
Touya.’

“Sorry, that was my stupid publisher. She sent out the wrong fucking draft and I had to tell her…Izuku?” Katsuki’s voice said as he rushed down the stairs.

“Kacchan.” Izuku met him in the living room.
“Is something wrong?” Katsuki wondered as he saw his husband’s conflicted face.

“Yeah.” Izuku held up the letter in his hand. “We need to call the police.”

Midoriya Kazui was excited as his dam dressed him up in his best clothes. Combed his unruly spiky hair, and put the smell good stuff all over him. It was a routine he was used to and something he found fun.

"Today, I'm gonna do it!" Izuku puffed his cheeks.
"Yeah! There's lantern sharks! And Lemon sharks and Whale sharks! And Nurse sharks!" Kazui and the kid, Mahiro became fast friends. Kazui ended up following him and his family all through the aquarium.

"You should come have dinner with us!" Mahiro begged.
"Yeah! That sounds fun!" Kazui completely forgot about his class as he walked out of the aquarium with them to the parking lot.

"Where are your parents, dear?" Kazui's mother asked him. "We're happy Mahiro made a friend, but.. maybe it's time you go back with your Mama?"

Izuku gratefully guzzled the water as Katsuki held his head to his heart and let him hear it beat. He always knew exactly what to do.

“Kacchan, you had a hard night last night.” Izuku reminded him. “I saw the news, you were helping those civilians evacuate for hours.”
“The last thing you need to worry about is my runny eggs!”

“Izuku!” Katsuki kissed him. “When we got married, I made an oath. In sickness and in health, damnit! Helping you and your runny eggs is my job that I take seriously!”

Izuku smiled gratefully at him.

Bakugo Katsuki was a very important businessman. No, he was more like a business tyrant. Needless to say, he was extremely busy and this annoying ass wedding planner was the last of his worries. He looked at his assistant,
“I had the wrong idea about you. Thank you for watching over my son. Please continue to allow him to be part of your success.” Inko bowed.

“It wouldn’t be success without him.” Katsuki smirked before standing up. “I’ll try and take more days off for the both of us.”

“Are you boys ready for your first day?” Bakugo Mitsuki excitedly asked her son and his childhood friend as they walked out of the house.

“Don’t you dare snap a picture!” Katsuki seethed.
“I am excited, thank you Auntie.” Izuku smiled at her politely and let her take a photo. He then followed Kacchan out the door nervously.
