Fun fact, I have never entered a Garba / #Dandiya thing in my entire life. Bengalis have dhunuchi nritya during Durga Puja, at the pandal during aarti and on the day of Visarjan at the river bank. I have done dhunuchi dance but never even seen a #Garba in real life.
Garba is a Gujarati thing and most people outside Guj didn't know it until Phalguni Pathak happened. It was not even depicted that much in Bollywood. Now it is a commercial and fashion activity with companies putting in money in advertising, big halls, DJs are hired.
Commercial Garbas are certainly not religious or divine or anything. Just people dancing. Poor men (could be Dalit, Muslim, poor Hindu) see from a distance cos most of these places are costly. Poor women stay at home, can't even see from distance.
Rich Muslims obviously visit Garba along with their Hindu friends. Festivals are very much a class thing. Poor men lurking around and leching at women doing Garba will be accosted by bouncers be they from any caste or religion. Rich men can simply enter and enjoy.
No need to make so much noise over random hate tweets asking why Muslims in Garba. These are just gimmicks. Performativity from all sides. When they post a video, a tweet, a TV spot, they know whom they are teasing and what would follow. So stop outraging over trivial issues.
