There's A LOT to get excited for on the #InternetComputer. Let's review...
🧵👇
1. The community is building some incredible infrastructure. @demergentlabs has deployed CDKs for typescript (Azle) and python (Kybra). @IdentityMaxis is building identity solutions. @py is building Codebase (decentralized github). And many more- apologies to those I left off
The development of core infrastructure from the community is a key differentiator for the #IC that will pay dividends in the long term.
2. SNS will launch very soon. We all know about the potential the SNS brings for fundraising and decentralization for apps and how it could attract new developers to the ecosystem. But I think the SNS will be more revolutionary than that...
Software is currently developed open sourced, which has advantages of decentralization, user-focus and trustworthy, or it's developed closed source which has the advantage of financial incentives and efficient decision making.
SNS has the potential to leverage the advantages of both open source and closed source development... combining the power of decentralization and trustworthiness with financial incentives for developers and users. Could be an industry disruptor.
3. #Bitcoin integration is in testnet - For the first time ever, $btc holders will be able to partake in smart contracts without giving up their control of their bitcoin or trusting third parties. Combine that with the #InternetComputer's ability to do decentralized UI = huge
4. Some data has turned positive:
> We had a huge drop in supply from the NNS in May (Zone 2!) - kylelangham.substack.com/p/supply-analy…
> Inflation is low and NNS dissolve:new stake is leveling out: medium.com/dfinity/nns-me…
> Exchange flows have been positive for the past few months-by my count
All of these are great tailwinds for the remainder of 2022 and early 2023.
We still have work to do though:
> NNS needs more self-organization and funding to fuel growth
> The #IC is still looking for that "DeFi summer moment" and better product-market fit
...
> Cycle and $ICP burn needs to continue to grow rapidly
> We could use a killer dapp or two
But, despite the lack of publicity for the #IC, the number of public github repos (2700+!) and unique github contributors (2000+!) suggest something is going on...
(follow up) Ah crap, I completely forgot to mention HTTP requests... the only blockchain that can natively talk with web2 without the need for troublesome oracles. That recently shipped and I can't wait to see how it changes the game for blockchain apps.

tl/dr - 8-year stakers in the Internet Computer are a dedicated bunch! But we need more of them.
Here's some facts (h/t @ic_rocks for providing the API tooling to power this :) )
49.6M $ICP is staked in 8-year neurons right now. That's 10.5% of supply!
Those neurons ain't dissolving either... 97.8% of that 49.6M ICP is locked.
#8YearGang makes up 101.4M in NNS voting power, out of 304.5M total NNS voting power. That means 8-year neurons make up 1/3 of NNS governance right now!
