8 reasons why I wake up at 4:30 am

- A thread - Image
At the beginning of 2022, I decided to wake up at 4:30 am.

Like you probably now, I questioned the efficiency of waking up that early.

But wait till the end of this thread to comment your disapproval.

Here is why you need to wake up earlier:
1. No interruptions

β€’ No kids yelling
β€’ No phone calls
β€’ Silence
2. Extra 2 hours per day

= 14 hours per week
= 30 days per year

...to get your shit done.
3. A lot of successful people wake up at 5am or earlier

Here's a list:

β€’ Tim Cook
β€’ Michelle Obama
β€’ Tim Armstrong
β€’ Dwayne Johnson
β€’ Jack Dorsey
β€’ Kevin O'Leary
β€’ Howard Schultz

If you want to have something in common with successful people, start waking up early.
4. You are less likely to procrastinate as you are completely fresh and full of energy
5. Builds discipline

Waking up early because you want it yourself is something different.

You are not forced by anybody.

If you still can do it, you are disciplined.
6. Great for exercising

According to @hubermanlab you should perform linear actions in the first 8 hours of the day
7. Mental edge over other people

While everyone else just woke up, you have been up for more than 2h already worked, exercised and journaled.
8. Builds momentum for the day ahead

If you succeed once, you will want to do it a second time.

The same goes with waking up early.
What would you add?

Look for time-consuming but unimportant tasks and take them off your list.

Add more room to your schedule for the tasks that will actually help you develop.

Studying for 14 hours straight may give you a sense of accomplishment.

However, your health, focus, and productivity will suffer in the long run.

- A thread for every young man - Image
1. Master Your Emotions

It's important to have deeper emotional self-control with other men and women.

This does not mean that you should have no feelings.

You therefore must understand when to express vulnerability and when not to.
2. Don't rely on any results

Never, ever be in need of anything.

The more important a result is to you, the less likely it is to happen.

Being too needyΒ is a sign of desperation.

Just go with the flow of life.

I often get asked: "Raphael, why don't you drink?"

I always tell them the same reasons:

- Thread 🧡-
1) Alcohol disrupts the brain

Nothing new. But even if you now think "I don't drink much", it's enough to have 1-2 drinks per day.

Your impulsive behavior increases in the short term while drinking as well as long term outside drinking.

Another crucial aspect is memory loss.
2) Teenagers are more likely to be dependent

Regardless of history of alcohol consume, people who start drinking at a younger age (13-15) are more likely to develop a dependence.
