They see how the media calls these #ClimateEmergency activists terrorists, & they see how a cowardly public echoes those calls. Nobody wants to be a target of that kind of hate, however unjustified.

This campaign of disruption of the zombie-walk off the cliff of #ecocide will have to be tied together w/economic & political organizing to break the back of capital, those most responsible for it, but we won't grow those ranks w/o first snapping average people out of the trance.
This is ultimately a similar discussion to one that's so difficult to have in online "Marxist" spaces about the value of apolitical US workers becoming active in the @GreenPartyUS or @DemSocialists vs doing nothing at all.

Why did I become communist? Bc I eventually came to feel that, while some of the things I encountered in those spaces were powerful & moving politically, that there had to be more, & I continued on to it.

In the USA or similar, these are countries with basically fascist politics by default. Breaking out of that often involves a process & often times mistakes are made on the way over to the left, steps through various forms of liberalism, etc. What matters is getting ppl out of it.
I can tell you that when I started, I was very sincere, but it was very hard to access any kind of quality information about socialism, the links between capitalism & war, etc.
It's becoming more common to find that now, but it's still rare compared to what is dominant.

That non-socialists are taking action against #climatecollapse is wonderful compared to the hundreds of millions sleepwalking into oblivion & calling it a "hoax."
