In the last 4 years, I’ve written over 200 articles for 15+ clients (including Hubspot, Hotjar, and Databox).

Only 4 needed edits I couldn’t make from my phone.

Steal my LEMA framework for crisp–clear content that editors (and users) will love 🧵

L for Logical

Unrestrained, you could write 4k words about tomatoes.
🔸Whether they’re fruit or vegetable
🔸Their color
🔸Origin…

Logic is what restricts your scope so that you’re only writing what your audience needs to read — in the order they need to read it
#SEOThread
When you make a point, what’s the next logical question that point raises?

Logic answers the questions what, who, where, when, why, how…depending on context.

Ex:

Statement: You should read books.
Q: Why? Because X benefit.
Q: How (do books give you X benefit)?

#SEOThread
To follow your target audience’s logic, ask 3 questions about them:
🔸What do they know?
🔸What do they want to know?
🔸What do they *need* to know?
The answers help you understand which concepts to expand on — so you don’t leave readers guessing.

#SEOThread @lilyugbaja
You focus your article on what they want to know and don’t dwell on what they already know.

Ex 👇
Kw: groupthink
Knows: Groupthink is bad
Want to know: If they’re facing it, the effects, how they can fix it…
Need to know: Lack of diversity is likely the problem
#SEOThread
The most important thing to them is to know if they’re experiencing groupthink
That’s why I intro’ed the piece with an example of groupthink at play showing:
🔸What it looks like
🔸The effects
🔸The cause
✨For clarity, discover and answer search intent with logic
#SEOThread Image
E for Explicit

❌ You should create content that is easy to read.
✅ You should create content that uses simple words people won’t google as they read.

If you’re stuck, ask “what am I trying to say here?”.

Answer. Then probe your answer until you’re satisfied.

#SEOThread Image
Explicit content is intentional; each sentence and each word has a purpose.

Cut fluff.

Inspire action.

❌ You should create content that uses simple words people won’t google as they read.
✅ Create content with simple words people won’t google.

M for Memorable

If people easily remember what you’ve shared, it means they understood it.

🔸Screenshots and graphics describe concepts in ways words can’t
🔸Analogies draw parallels with familiar concepts
🔸Examples aid understanding with context

#SEOThread @lilyugbaja
Use them as follows:

🔸Screenshots to show what in-app steps look like
🔸Examples to describe what a concept would look life in real life
🔸Analogies to introduce readers to more advanced concepts
🔸Custom graphics to map concepts

#SEOThread @lilyugbaja Image
A for Actionable

People read content because they want to do something.

Sometimes they know what that is, other times, they don’t.

Clear content leaves users with an understanding of exactly

🔸What they need to do
🔸How need to do it
🔸And what tools they need

#SEOThread
Ex:

In this post, I tell readers to:

🔸Discover drop-off points (what they should do)
🔸Use Google Analytics to do that (the tool they need)
🔸Go to the Behavior tab on the left… (how they should do it)

✨For clarity, don’t leave readers guessing the next steps

#SEOThread Image
Remember, crisp–clear content is LEMA 🔥

So go make content that is:

🔥Logical
🔥Explicit
🔥Memorable
🔥Actionable

4 Ways to Determine Backlink Quality:

Having dealt with countless DMs trying to sell me #backlinks, I can now say:

All backlinks aren’t made equal.

As with many things in #SEO

Quality > quantity

#SEOthread @adrianakstein
So what actually makes a quality backlink? Here are a few methods for determining this:

#SEOthread @adrianakstein
Method 1: Avoid Paid Backlinks

I want to make it absolutely clear that you should NEVER buy backlinks!

If someone is offering that to you, RUN for the hills!

Not to mention that it’s actually against Google guidelines.
