SitRep - 23/10 - "Drones, missiles and a petal mine"
Today we go back to the daily happenings in #Ukraine. Because of a network deactivation/cut-off in Kherson by Russia, we didn't receive many updates. But let's speak about what we do know! We look at different front lines
1/X
We start with the daily losses on the Russian side. Nothing special, just another day in the office. What does start to stand out is the constant (high) loss of artillery systems. That should start to take its toll on Russia.
Overnight a series of attacks hit critical infrastructure in the country. A total of 16 drones were shot down between 12pm and 2am. Ukraine really urgently needs more airdefense.
➡️Today #Israel 🇮🇱 provided intel to #Ukraine to combat the Iranian drones in a more effective way.
Let's start with general events:
This morning, for the second time in less then 2 weeks, a Russian fighter jet (SU-30MS) crashed into a Russian populated area in #Irkutsk. Destroying a two-story building, leaving wounded and dead.
Footage arrived of more tank echelons heading for Russia out of #Belarus. Lukashenko keeps his word to Putin and delivers a constant flow of (old) Soviet armored equipment. In return he receives defense systems and a joint striking force.
Semyon Pegov also known as #WarGonzo (a Russian propaganda military blogger) was wounded near #Donetsk. He hit a petal mine and was transferred to the hospital in Donetsk where they treated his minor injury.
PMC #Wagner is still recruiting new soldiers in prisons, now Yevgeny Prigozhin, owner of PMC Wagner was recorded in #Yekaterinburg. Most of his Wagners are killed in #Bakhmut.
➡️No map changes
➡️We wait for the #Mylove confirmation, but as we said: frontlines are fluid
➡️The internet/network connection is mostly gone in #Kherson. This may have an impact on information provision
➡️Most gas stations are closed, and refuse to take Rubles
➡️A carbomb exploded in #Kherson. There are wounded. Unknown who was targetted
➡️Most supermarkets are almost empty. Apparently they are no longer stocked by Russia. Which again hints at a farewell to the region?
➡️AFU destroyed an ammo warehouse in near #Kozatske
➡️Nevs'ke 🇷🇺 controlled. Confirmed by 🇺🇦 and 🇷🇺 sources
➡️AFU forces are reportedly fighting near Chervonopopivka and Zhytlivka based on 🇷🇺 sources. Russians confirmed losses.
➡️BARS-13 units in #Kreminna are worried they are getting cut off from the north.
Chaos and disorder in #Kreminna. Shops are being plundered. I can't make up what type of people they are, but i bet they like the occupation forces or are russians themself. They are recorded stealing all kinds of appliances.
Getting ready for retreat?
Bakhmut axis:
➡️Russian forces have been pushed back completely to the M03/06 intersection. What they fought for for 2 (!) months, the AFU (particularly through the 93rd mechanical brigade) regained it in just 2 days.
➡️🇷🇺 tried breaking trough to Klischchiivka but failed.
➡️Heavy fighting still occurs south of the city near Odradivka and southeast of #Optyne.
➡️All basic amenities in the city have been destroyed. The AFU has started evacuating all remaining residents to safe villages/cities today.
