You will notice the VAST differences between what #ActuallyAutistic people want to see researched, & what non-autistic researchers want to see researched.
Autistic people want to see research that benefits *autistic* people's everyday lives.
Now that I say that, I'm reminded of an experience back in the late 80s, a few months after I came out. Hanging out with other queer ppl, in a space where two men... felt safe... to sit on the sofa together & hold hands.

I tried really hard not to stare.
But... I'd never seen two men sitting on a sofa holding hands.
Not ever in my life before that.
I loved it.
It made me REALLY uncomfortable, too.
