Question: if it is not acceptable to wear a "blackface" then why is it acceptable to wear a #womanface I find it DEEPLY offensive that a man can put on a skirt and make up and say he is a woman. It demeans everything I am.
I have bled, I have given birth, I have nearly died giving birth; I have produced milk for my babies; I have been sexually assaulted; I have been passed over for promotion; I have been harrased and threatened because of my sex by men who think it is fun and games to
frighten a young woman; I have been stalked; I have been talked over, had my career sabotaged and my ideas pinched and all because I am a woman.
So for any man to put on a #womanface , a costume and claim to be a woman belittles me, it belittles my experiences and it belittles the experience of women across the world.
Only today I read an article from the UN in which the male author states that there is a war on women, and it is done by MEN.
"Inter-State conflict makes headlines, but in some of the most violent parts of the world, levels of femicide β the killing of women β are comparable to a war zone. 137 women around the world are killed by a member of their own family every day. Impunity rates are above
95Β perΒ cent in some countries.
In other words, we have men waging war on women β but no one is calling for a ceasefire or imposing sanctions."
137 women across the world are murdered by men every single day. And we are routinely told we are not as vulnerable as the trans community and that we should give up our very few safe spaces to accomodate them and their feelings.
Well what about me? What about me and my feelings? What about the feelings of millions of other women across the world.
So, you know, when a man or boy puts on his woman face and claims to be female it just makes me angry.
Do what you like, but do not EVER claim to be a woman. Because you have NO clue what it is like. You have NO IDEA what it is to live this experience and be unable to identify out of it.
I am NOT a costume. I am a woman. An adult female human.
Just been to see a superb production atΒ @oldvictheatre of A Christmas Carol. However, the gender ' neutral toilets were a huge safeguarding issue.
On the one side 12 urinals and 1 cubicle. On the other 14 ( I think) cubicles into which any man could walk.Β Β In case you hadn'tΒ noticedΒ girls and women cannot use urinals.
In case you hadn't noticed , indecent exposure is illegal. And girls and women using toilet space in which urinals are the predominant method used to urinate are subject to being victims of indecent exposure.
