RUTH: The Story of Redemption. With Pastor @EdwardOndachi: 1. The road called regret. 2. Opportunity comes when you turn around. 3. God is a romantic. 4. The redemption story. @NairobiChapel
Majority of us are familiar with what happens when everything shuts down. The #COVID19 season. Famines in a scripture are often times of spiritual tests. Difficult times don’t change us; they reveal us. @EdwardOndachi@NairobiChapel#redemption
Our faith is designed to be tested and to grow through difficult times, to mature. If there is an empty seat next to you, it belongs to someone whose faith was damaged. #COVID19 hit people’s faith really hard. @EdwardOndachi@NairobiChapel#redemption
Observations on regret: 1. The road to regret starts with something logical - there is a famine, business is closed, there is no money. Be careful of something called “the drift” (Hebrews 2:1). Drift is gentle. Most people can’t understand how they found themselves where they are
2. It discovers something wonderful. Ruth and Naomi were told a lot about Moab but when they encountered them, they had lush vegetation, water, good people. The land was beautiful but Godless. The land of alternatives without God. @EdwardOndachi@NairobiChapel#redemption
3. Moab is a place of death. The God of Israel was not there. Naomi’s sons married Moabite women yet God had forbidden any association with them. Naomi was bitter and blamed God. Many times we blame God for misfortunes. @EdwardOndachi@NairobiChapel
Nothing happens until you turn around. The sister story to this is that of the Prodigal Son. A budget is a plan you put in place to give you peace. God “budgets” for everything including for our foolishness and rebellion! @EdwardOndachi@NairobiChapel#redemption
The assertion that we can commit sins of “omission” or “commission” doesn’t have theological backing! “We own nothing in this world…except our sins” - C.S. Lewis. God will accept you because you are in His budget. Allow Him to love you the way He wants to love you.
God is not looking for “a better you” or a “cleaned up person”. God loves you through your rebellion.

Joshua 14: This chapter focuses on the distribution of the land that has been conquered. The character of Caleb that is introduced to us here was one of 12 spies sent out spy on Canaan. A sermon 🧵. #Conquest@NairobiChapel@NickKorir
Caleb and Joshua were outnumbered by the 10 who didn’t trust that God would give them victory. God then declared that an entire generation will be wiped out for another 40 years and only those 20 years and below would enter the land. #Conquest@NairobiChapel@NickKorir
Caleb and Joshua led them into Caanan and the tribe of Judah was the first to be allocated west of the Jordan (as the East had been allocated before). Caleb belonged to this tribe and 45 years earlier he had been promised this inheritance at Hebron. #Conquest@NairobiChapel
