1/5 Glyphosate is the active ingredient in the herbicide #RoundUp. In 1996 #geneticallymodified soybeans that could tolerate Round Up were introduced. At that time, Round Up made up just 3.8% of herbicides in use. By 2007 glyphosate use was more than double the next herbicide.
2/5 Glyphosate blocks an enzyme used by plants, bacteria, fungi, and algae, including beneficial bacteria in our #gut. Pathogenic bacteria Clostridia and Salmonella are not affected by glyphosate, allowing them to survive.
3/5 With the increased use of glyphosate on crops, our food supply is contaminated by this toxin that affects our #microbiome causing intestinal #dysbiosis. Clostridia produces metabolites that affect the brain and can contribute to neurological symptoms.
4/5 “This work reviews the impact of Gly[glyphosate]-induced intestinal dysbiosis on the central nervous system, focusing on emotional, neurological and #neurodegenerativedisorders."
5/5 "A wide variety of factors were investigated in relation to brain-related changes, including highlighting genetic abnormalities, pregnancy-associated problems, diet, infections, vaccines and #heavymetals.”

1/6 Dysautonomia/POTS is a common concomitant condition in complex #chronicillness. Normally our #autonomicnervoussystem (#ANS) responds to changes in position from lying or sitting to standing.
2/6 Often in chronic illness, the autonomic nervous system does not work properly and a change in position causes the heart rate to increase to compensate for low blood vessel tone (POTS) or the blood pressure decreases upon standing (#orthostatichypotension).
1/4 There is a lot of discussion about what causes #mastcellactivationsyndrome. Rarely are toxic metals such as mercury discussed. There is ample published research associating mercury as a cause of mast cell mediator release, including this study.
2/4 Toxins and infections aggravate the immune system, contributing to inflammation & immune dysfunction that drive symptoms. Toxic metals drive a Th2 immune response leading to increase IgE antibody production that bind to mast cells causing them to release their contents.
